Oh Primrose- where to even begin? I will start with my biggest regret- not having my children…read moreenrolled here sooner. This is a school. This is not a glorified daycare. This is absolutely an environment that fosters learning, growth, creativity, and critical thinking skills. Our oldest child went through the private Kindergarten at Primrose and the impact this singular decision will have on his future far exceeds anything we could have hoped for. He got more than a foundation at Primrose- he got a solid education and a skillset that will have a lifelong influence. Upon graduating from the Primrose private kindergarten program, he went on to public school where he is in their kindergarten (we didn't want to push him ahead to 1st grade as we wanted the transition to elementary school to be easier on him). We have learned that he is not at a kindergarten reading level- he is at a SECOND GRADE reading level! Not only that, but we have been informed that of the 10 children that graduated from Primrose last year (either from the pre-K or Kindergarten program) and then went on to attend our same public elementary school, ALL TEN children are above grade level for reading. They are advanced enough that they are having to be pulled from their regular classroom reading time to work with a teacher that can teach them phonics/reading at the level these children are already at. There are only 2 non-Primrose children in their elementary school that are also being pulled for advanced phonics/reading skills. Furthermore, we have been informed that our son is also advanced in his math skills, and he will be pulled from his regular kindergarten math coursework to focus on more challenging math curriculum that more closely meet him where his skills lie. Now I would LOVE to take credit for his achievements. I would love to tell you that mom and dad taught him all that he knows. But that would be dishonest of me. We owe all of this development to Primrose- to the curriculum that they employ, to the safe and nurturing environment that they provide, and especially to the teachers and staff that work day and night to give these children a head start in life. I cannot say enough positive things about our experience at Primrose- they go above and beyond for their students and the community in everyway possible. THANK YOU PRIMROSE!

Primrose School of South Elgin saved my sanity as a parent and has given me so much more. It all…read morestarted in the summer of 2011 roughly. My daughter was attending a child care facility and she was learning at a very fast rate. I was very impressed with the staff there, but then when she turned three, everything changed. Her learning sort of plateaued and I didn't really realize what was going on for the longest time. Then when I finally figured it out, I decided to do something about it. Thankfully, Primrose was just about to open and they gave me the tour and the sales pitch. The biggest difference about Primrose vs other child care centers is that Primrose isn't child care, it is a school. Learning is the top priority for the children, not just supervised play time. As soon as my daughter started, it was apparent how big of a difference Primrose was going to make in her life. She spent pre-k and private kindergarten at Primrose before moving onto public school for first grade. My son had spent all of his early childhood development at Primrose from 15months through pre-k before moving onto public school for kindergarten. He is doing phenomenal in school and has a real thirst for learning; something I believe he developed at Primrose. Businesses like to say that the highest form of flattery a customer can provide is referrals and even with my kids no longer enrolled at Primrose (though they will be for summer camps), I still tell everyone who asks about local child care. And yes, I always correct them that Primrose is not a daycare, rather a school. I cannot say enough good things about the staff at Primrose and the impact they have made on not only my life, but my children's lives.

I told teacher Barb and Joyce, my son can be a handful and if he is too much to handle and I would be right outside. Just call me. Joyce in no better when it was pick up time she was whipping him around. He lasted 2 days there. I made a report and spoke with Tina/Mandy about this and of course nothing was done. NO ONE should have to worry about their child getting hurt by a so called teacher. I'm disgusted with this place and all that work there. Save your kid the trauma. A year later and I'm having trouble getting him to want to go to school again. When he was so excited the first time. Now he keeps asking.. Are they going to be mean and hurt me? DISGUSTING

Hosanna! Preschool has been the best choice I've made since starting our education journey with our…read moredaughter. I did my research on our area preschools (9+ schools) and ultimately decided to have Hosanna! as our preschool for many reasons. The school classrooms are large, filled with fun toys, treehouses, and interactive play. The teachers are the most loving and caring and truly know my daughter and let her personality shine. The director makes sure you know everything that is going on and the communication between parents and teachers is comforting. The preschool offers many activities for parents to join throughout the year, which have been very special moments. The outside playground is well kept and continues to grow with new activities added, like this year's Mud Kitchen! There is also a large indoor gym for when it's raining or too cold. The cost is average for the Elgin area and worth every penny! Our (almost) two years of preschool have been so enjoyable and my daughter has grown academically as well as socially/emotionally. She has made close friends and families have become close as well. Highly recommend you check out Hosanna! Preschool for your kiddos, you won't regret it!

I strongly and unequivocally disagree with the statement provided by the school. As a parent, my…read moreconcern is not only valid but supported by the seriousness of what occurred. This matter was significant enough to warrant involvement from DCFS, and a formal case was opened and documented as a violation. That alone directly contradicts any attempt to minimize or dismiss the situation. The claim that there is a "zero-tolerance policy" and that all children are consistently kept in a safe and nurturing environment does not align with my child's experience or the outcome of the investigation. Policies are only meaningful when they are properly enforced, and in this instance, there was a clear failure to uphold the standards that are being publicly promoted. I find it deeply concerning that the response avoids accountability and instead attempts to deflect by not addressing key details. As a parent, I trusted this facility with my child's safety, and that trust was compromised. The fact that this resulted in a documented DCFS violation speaks for itself. I am sharing this not to engage in conflict, but to ensure transparency and to emphasize that this situation was real, serious, and formally recognized by the appropriate authorities. Parents deserve full honesty when it comes to the safety and well-being of their children. CITATION- 407100A3 & 407100A10

I was so hesitant when I first had to leave my son but quickly realized what great hands I was leaving him in. They have always been so accommodating and communicate whenever there's an issue or concern. I love seeing how much my son has learned and give all the credit to the staff. We went and visited all the daycares in the area, and we just had such a good feeling about this place. Overall, an amazing daycare in St. Charles that I can't recommend enough!

Did not greet with a smile, when touring the infant room she told me there were 1 teacher per 4 students. There was 5 kids in there with no other teacher or helper. She told me 6 are enrolled and when there more than 4 they will hire another teacher, as there were more than 4 students in there I kinda looked at her in confusion. I was trying to lighten the mood make jokes and she was not smiling or acting friendly at all. Looked like she hated her life. Then she was telling me I had to put a down payment today to secure a spot and after I said isn't there a special going on, she rolls her eyes and said "oh yeah, but that 200 goes towards your first month". She was just not welcoming at all. Megan called me the day prior said that she will be doing the tour and wanted to chat after the tour about the position I applied for. Megan did not once greet me when walking in, only when I was going to the front to leave then she wanted to say hi and that's it. When Natalie was asking for clarification, Megan gets up and said yes that's it and goes back into the office. We did not have a chat after. For 2500$ a MONTH. I'd expect A LOT better customer service and welcomeness." Thank god Megan said "let's see how you like the daycare before we switch into the job interview" HORRIBLE HORRIBLE.
