Hotel bar with a "pub" and no table service. Not something we'd seek out, but decent last minute food for basically a bar. Drinks: Multiple local taps for $4-5; the taps were great. Overheard a couple of people be dissatisfied with their drink ($6.50 for quick pour on a White Russian). Had one cider in a tall boy from the twin cities for $7. Wife also had a flat cola. It was busy, in the setting of one bartender. She was nice. Doesn't really provide table service, moreso going to the bar to order and pick stuff up. There's a menu online. This was NOT what we saw when we showed up. They had a burger, fish and chips, pulled pork sliders, Caesar wrap, and appetizers. Based on the online menu and the outdoor patio, we were expecting more of a pub. Wisconsin cheese curds were okay.... didn't find much nostalgia from my Wisconsin childhood; some were more breading than cheese. The sauce with them were good though! The only reason they got a star is because you can't give zero!! Food.....the fish looked like it was cooked in oil from 2019, the burger was obviously a frozen piece of (meat?), the fries cooked in the same nasty oil as the fish. HORRIBLE! If I could leave a zero stars I would. The bartender Wanda was very rude and insulted me for asking a question about happy hour. She was rude right from the start...could not answer any questions about the menu or happy hour then became hostile and tried to lecture me on being courteous... The thing is i am very considerate as I have wired tables and bartended for at least 20 years of my life. I would recommend going elsewhere if Wanda is working...or just skip all together. read more

Bowery Bros is an interesting little dive bar in the basement of the Radisson Hotel. The bar at JJ Astors closed at 10 so we hit-up Bowery Bros, which closes at 11. Overall, I'd say Bowery is an above average dive bar. The bar is a dark, tiny, and simple. It's setup like a football locker room with real lockers on the wall, a small bar, a pool table, various lounge areas, and a table top pizza oven behind the counter so the bartender can cook you a frozen Heggies Pizza...the only food item on offer. Heggies Pizza isn't anything special but it fits-in perfectly because it's a redneck type bar and you probably showed up to get drunk. I noticed that several employees came down to the bar when JJ Astors closed upstairs. Plus, there was a flock of hotel guests, getting buzzed before heading back to their rooms. My wife and I sat at the bar. The bartender was awesome. Her customer service was great. She was also funny. The dude sitting next to us laughed when I asked her if Bowery Bros had any specialty cocktails. Nonetheless, she made us some personal concoctions of her special "Duluth" cocktails! They were great! This is a super unique dive bar. The atmosphere is super weird. The bartender only serves you if our want up to her, even though she has multiple tables and booths within the bar. She is only interested in chatting with her friends and give them free extra pours in their drinks. On top of that. She goes outside to smoke with her fiends without seeing if anyone in the bar needs another drink. And to top it all off, she comes back in from smoking and doesn't wash her hands. For real!!!! Then she proceeded to handle a customers food. For real. Come on! She has a super weird name, Khrystin. And she just told one of the folks at the bar, "Quit your bitching!" Wow. Classy. Radisson, you need to look into this and fix the situation. read more

I went here for the first time yesterday. Sitting at the bar, I waited around 20 minutes to be served. The bartender would not prioritize who was at the bar first and was just serving people at random. When he was able to come down to take our order, he apologized and said "Sorry, I saw you guys down there....". If he saw us "down there" (its a very small bar) he should have told the people who just walked up to wait. After about an hour, we went back up to the bar to get another drink. The same issue happened but this time worse. After about a 20 minute wait again, we left without receiving service. Over 40 minutes of the 90 minutes we were there, was spent wasted on waiting for the slowest bartender in history. I would have rather spent it enjoying company of friends. This could be resolved by having more than one bartender on staff when you have an event, a bartender that can handle more than one simple order at a time, serve the people that have been waiting the longest. Start serving at one end of the bar and work your way down to the other. This will cover everyone and then you go back to the start. Simple. I will never be back and I will let everyone know never to come here. read more
