I happened to see Joe in his work van today, parked, using his computer. I knocked on his window, he turned his head to look at me then went back to his computer. I knocked a second time, he made a face at me which appeared to say 'don't bother me'. He did roll down the window saying he was busy...I began my polite sentence to refresh his memory about the lock that I want back...he promptly rolled up the window and went back to his computer. I hired Joe from Bow Valley Locksmith to replace a mailbox lock for me. The agreement was that he would provide the service then we would make arrangements for me to pay him and get the keys. I never received a call, so I called him and he said that he had already changed the lock. Since I was out of town, at the time, I called him to pay and get the keys a week after he provided the service. Wow - not expecting this response, but he told me "it had been like two weeks ago and he probably already threw the keys out of his truck and he shouldn't have to babysit everyone because he was super busy". Not sure if a quick phone call after he changed the lock to let me know it was done constitutes babysitting...I would call this good business practice. Don't use this guy - he is unreliable, unpredictable, and like other reviewers have said - a nightmare to deal with. read more

Not only Joe picked me up from my staff accomodation at no extra charge he also drove me all the way up to Goat creek to get my car fixed, and he did all that without a hitch! The only complaint I got is that I am still awaiting my email with the recipiet which I hope Joe will get around too very soon. OTherwise I had a great experience with no complaining. read more

He came to my place, let us go in (keys were in the house, doors were locked), charged 85$ asked us to pay him before we got the invoice telling he would send the invoice by mail. We never got it. This guy does not know anything about business and customer service. He was one of the rudest person I have ever met in my life. We do not recommend Bow Valley Locksmithing at all. We were in lake Louis camp ground that my boy friend left the car's key in the trunk We called Bow Valley Locksmith and they said that they are going to charge us 300 dollars. We said that we can tow the car by AMA in Canmore and then will ask them to fix it. His answer was unenviable!!! he said to my boy friend that he is not going to fix our car if we tow it to Canmore!!!!!!!! I couldn't believe my boy friend and said that you must be missed understood. We towed the car to Canmore and when I called him, he asked me if our case is the car in Lake Louis, and when he figured it out it is the same car just cut the call. Finally when AMA heard our story towed the car for us to Calgary with my membership for free and Locksmith in Calgary fixed it just in 5 minute. Our problem has been fixed for free for us but I have met one of the rudest person in my life. This guy does not know anything about respect, customer service and even about making money. I recently had to deal with joe the "schmoe". Two weeks ago I lost my car keys on the nakiska ski hill and called joe to break into my car so at least I could have my phone and other belongings from my vehicle. While he continuously told me how much he hated volkswagons and sweared about his inability to get into my car I stood and waited patiently. Finally he got in I got my things then he told me he would take my lock off of my driver side door which he did and take it to his shop and make me a key. I returned a week later to nakiska to snowboard and pick up my car but he never returned my calls even hanging up on me when I phoned. He later left me a message telling me he doesn't appreciate me calling him so much and that he had a problem with his key cutter. I emailed and called him repeatedly the next week to see how he was making out. I have not herd from him and have now had my vehicle towed to Calgary. I still do not have my lock for my driver side door but will be talking to the police if I do not get that back. Wish me luck. This guy is an absolute joke I wouldn't recommend him to my worst enemy. Absolutely do not use him. In my opinion he is a thief and a liar. I have never been treated so poorly by someone who provides a service. I cannot believe he is still in business. I hope next time I drive through Canmore I stop and see him working at the mcdonalds drove through window. read more
