I last visited here during a 2010 visit to a friend in this area but I can still remember details. My first impressions were a standard tube station, I knew the Underground lines and map very well during my visit but have since forgotten much, including the architectural patterns of the line, but believe this station is unique in having a patio afront where table and chairs make for nice socializing otherwise a spacious area where visitors like me can take a pause to make calls, insert SIM cards, juggle luggage, orient oneself, etc.
I recall a spacious wide set of platforms with narrower stairs up to streel level. A nearby connection to DLR is popular and important if the 2 lines don't plain meetup (don't remember). The usual Oyster turnstiles are here thus easy, reliable, fast entry/exit. I don't recall if there was an attended booth or ticketing machines, but do recall I saw no staff though many say CCTV replaces many of the usual security staff.
It's a very easy walk along Bow Rd which is spacious and well trafficked with plenty of amenities. Nice area with a nice station. read more
