I was so relieved they just happened to be there, not only did they rush my girl in and give her the immediate care she required, they've also been checking in on us regularly to make sure she is ok. Clinics can be stressful environments for the animals, clients as well as vets. I was so happy at how well our situation was handled even though the small clinic was clearly not prepared for such an emergency. I am eternally grateful for these guys and can't wait to get back in to Dr. Ian to show him how good she's doing!

Jean-Francois and I had several conversations in the month before my trip; he assured me that they could take care of my dog no matter what, and he went so far as to offer to bring her to my hotel so that I could walk her every day of her stay. A last-minute reprieve from the work hotel meant I was able to spend my entire trip with my dog. When I picked up my girl a couple hours after dropping her off, the staff member at the desk described her interactions with other dogs in detail, and they were quick to mention that, as expected, she had shown signs of stress and separation anxiety. The kennel space itself is clean and carefully managed. Kennel spaces and the outdoor yard are floored in concrete, but the dogs don't seem to mind. There is also a wide selection of treats, baked bones, bully sticks, and dog gear in the lobby. JF and his team truly care about dogs. If you need to board while in Banff, look no further than Veronica's.

The email I received confirmed a "Bark2Basics" package which states "not a full body cut", a bath, blow dry nail cut, foot and sanitary trim and keeping the existing haircut the same. I also gave in-person instructions to only cut his statuary region. I was shocked when I picked up my dog as the groomer had given him a full body cut! This included taking away his beautiful big full mane, his long front leg tuffs and the long outer coat (guard hairs) that covered his entire body. Making matters worse the long guard hairs usually do not grow back and, if they do, it takes years. The sheltie's full coat and lionlike mane make them look like shelties, my dog was at the top of the scale for fullness. So not only did the groomer not follow my instructions but she was clueless on how to even groom a sheltie, untrained and unprofessional. When I confronted the groomer and the store owner, who was there the entire time, I was informed that I was booked for an "uptown hound" package giving them liberty to cut at will. My computer generated email confirmation states otherwise and my in person instructions were ignored. To me, this was deceitful and an attempt to justify their mistakes. Now I get to look at my older low-coated sheltie (who used to have a long full majestic coat) and hope that his hair grows back. Terrible experience!
