I also saw Native American dream catchers and other Native spiritual items but unless I get that from a person of First Nation's ancestry or from the reservation directly or at the annual Pow-Wow, I generally stay away from that stuff, but that's just me. The girl who runs it is very friendly and generally the folks there are pretty helpful. It really focuses on crystals and stones, they don't really have books, tarot cards, candles, botanicals which most stores dedicated to craft and Pagan/Wicca do so just be aware of that.

Tried to go with osteopathy, advised them about my work schedule and got my appointment booked for 5-30pm on Friday so I cancelled all my other plans. They changed the time from 5.30 to 4 on Thursday and called me to "confirm" my apooontment. Well, I'm fact they have booked someone else at 5 after my appointment was confirmed so I have no any further intention to go there. Poor planning and service. Not recommended.

Even when I said I wasn't necessarily looking to make money, just donate to a place I like, they told me that taking my books would "burden" them... Even though that's what this place is for, selling and buying used books! I went to a bookstore further up Mont-Royal who took them. I certainly understand that they couldn't take all of them depending on the value, but it was really their dismissive and quite rude attitude that took me off guard. Not sure I'll shop there again, unfortunately.

My review is really based on vinyl records as that's what lured me in. The shop is very clean and neatly organized. They had some nice new arrivals plus several bins of rock, jazz, classical, and whatever else in between. I found one record I wanted, but a few others I already had that I otherwise would have grabbed. Prices were pretty fair. They also carried CDs, but no cassettes. Of course they have lots of books and nice area to sit and relax. Cool spot worth checking out for a little browsing.

Only the French mass on…read moreSundays is in the basilica and the rest are held in the crypt church which while simple is still beautiful with its beautiful gold and stone statue behind the altar. The English mass is 12:15 pm and 7:00 pm, Mon - Saturday and 11:15 am on Sunday. Plan to arrive early, since the masses can get filled up. It is free to enter or look around, and you just pay for parking, tours, or for the museum. Although there are stairs, we took the several flights of escalators up to the Votive chapel floor where the Crypt church was. The Votive chapel is a hallway lined in flickering votive candles. I really enjoyed the English mass; the cantor, who sings the prayers you repeat, had the most beautiful voice I ever heard in church. Afterwards, we walked around the large gift shops, Brother Andre's tomb, enjoyed the beautiful view of the city, poked my head into the Basilica but did not go in since the French mass was going to be be held, saw the original small chapel (no pictures allowed), and walked around the Garden of the Way of the Cross which has larger than life statues depicting the stations of the cross. I found them particularly moving, since the sorrow, struggle, and pain was depicted in the faces so large and more realistically than looking at small paintings. At the end, there were a number of stairs to walk down or I think you would need to backtrack to take the paths back to the start. Really a special place and you can feel the peace and prayers here in spite of the hundreds of people.

There's multiple paid parking spaces available; you can also drive to the top floor and park there, but the space is limited. There's construction ongoing on the premises to build an elevator and making it easier to navigate between the floors.
