While on the phone, we resolved the situation. However, the male Indian manager came directly to my car while I was on the phone with Choice Hotels, and immediately confronted me by putting his finger in my face and raising his voice in anger about the receipt situation. He angrily invited me into the office (btw, it has glass partitions around it as if it's still Covid-era 2020 or something) and points to the special reservation condition where it gives the property the right to take a higher deposit. When he angrily explained this, I said okay, yet told him that he was rude. He asked how, which he immediately went into a rage by telling me to "Get the f.*ck out of here" , and "f.*ck you." I had already checked out, so I was leaving anyway. All the while, I had Choice Hotels listening to the entire exchange on speaker phone, as they never hung up. In 15 years of staying at Choice properties, this was clearly the worst experience that I've ever had.

There were no issues with setting the thermostat; the rooms were immaculately clean and the service by Megan at the front desk and Bailey at the bar was top notch. As my husband and I were sitting at the bar during happy hour (and yes they have a nice happy hour!), we noticed Bailey going and bringing out the most beautiful and large salads from the kitchen. I think next time, we should order from the restaurant on premises. The lobby has a more elite look that we enjoy.

After we got our keys to the room, we took the elevator that doesn't look like it's been cleaned quite a few years. After entering our room we were slammed with the smell of mold, dust covering everything, stains on the bedding, and dirt all over the floor. We went back to the lobby to request a freshly cleaned room, and found the next room to be in the same condition. We also looked at the pool before deciding what we wanted to do. It smelt strongly of pure chemicals, and had a filthy cloud look to it. It was indoor, but without any proper ventilation. The hotel is not properly maintained and is suffering as a result.

However, despite no confirmation email, I showed up to check in and found nobody at the front desk to help me. I took this as a reason to go try to check in else where. Despite not staying there, I was charged for the night's stay. I have been in contact with Motel 6 to get in touch with the General Manager and have been hung up on multiple times after trying to inquire about a refund. Very unfortunate experience.

Also, when I checked in, there was a line out the door - apparently a lot of construction firms put up their workers in the hotel and they're required to check in/out everyday. Kind of a pain for the rest of the folks trying to check in. Staff was nice. Food was mediocre. Standard continental breakfast.
