It's almost exclusively bridesmaids dresses (hence the name), so there were not any other bridal accessories (i.e., hairpieces, clips, sashes) that I happened to be shopping for. On March 1st, the price of the dresses that I had purchased (in an order that had not yet been…read moreplaced with the designer) dropped drastically. When I called to finalize the order on March 2, 2023, the same staff that had reassured me multiple times that we could wait on the flower girls' dresses notified me that the flower girls' dresses would take just as long to come into the office as the bridesmaids dresses and if I had any expectation of them being the same color, they would all need to be ordered together. As a result, I had to rush to get the flower girls' into the office the very next day for measurements. The flower girls get fitted, we pay for their dresses, and we leave the store. I called the store after we left to inquire about a price adjustment due to the drastic decrease in the base price of the dress per the designers website. This is before the order was actually placed with the designer. They declined to make the price adjustment. The store hours were 12p-4p. At 10:30p (drastically outside of their posted business hours), I get an e-mail from the owner, saying that the order has been placed and the expected ship date is early June (nowhere near being in any danger of default for a September wedding). Additionally, they are essentially showing a three-month production period and if I had ordered direct from the designer's website, they show an estimated production period of six (6) weeks. I e-mail back immediately regarding the price adjustment and received no immediate answer. The contract that we signed for the dresses said that they were non-refundable after the order had been placed with the designer, so the fact that they rushed to place the order outside of normal business hours after I inquired about a price adjustment is no surprise. The next day, I called the shop and requested a call back from the owner, which I never received. She e-mailed me back much later in the day, refusing the price adjustment. I e-mailed her back thoroughly explaining that all of this appeared to be intentional and appeared to be quite dishonest. She e-mailed me back in great detail, essentially explaining that it's the customers responsibility to protect themselves in commercial transactions and their store otherwise has the right to mistreat them. Her message was that if the customer doesn't attempt to price match at the point of sale, they're not entitled to any price adjustments, which is absolutely ridiculous and not standard practice for any retailer I've ever frequented before. Long story short, it would appear that they knew about the price adjustments scheduled to take place at the end of February. They intentionally railroaded us into paying much higher prices for the same dresses, even going so far as to potentially lie to us about the flower girls' dresses not needing to be ordered soon in an attempt to get us to place the whole order by the end of February. Once the calendar changed to March 1, 2023, everything that they had been telling us about the flower girls' dresses changed. They refused the price adjustment and rushed to place the order outside of normal business hours so that it was no longer cancellable per their policy. Using this store will cost you, literally. It cost us an estimated $470.00 in the base price of the dresses, plus an additional approx. $120 in service charges that they tacked onto the price of the dresses. Grand Total: An approximate $590.00 loss. I had one dress for the bridesmaids and a different dress for the Maid and Matron of honor. On March 1, 2023, the price of the bridesmaids' dresses decreased $85/dress on four (4) dresses and the price for the Maid/Matron Honor dress decreased $64/dress on two (2) dresses. Additionally, they add a service charge to the price of each dress, which is not mentioned anywhere in their contracts. The flower girls' dresses were $124.50 per the designer's website. Plus a 6% sales tax, the total amount would have been $131.97 and I was charged approximately $146 ($145 + change) for the dress. They're adding an additional (approx.) 10% service fee charge to the cost of each dress. Their business model, staff, and owner all appear to be extraordinarily dishonest. Why not charge an appointment fee for the consultation instead of baking additional 10% service charge into the costs of already wildly overpriced dresses? The more honest business practice would be to charge $15/person for those in attendance at the fitting and price match the dresses to the designer's website. When I e-mailed the owner explaining all of this, she e-mailed me back with blatant falsehoods (lies) that she claims her staff told her about the situation. I picked up all the dresses for my bridesmaids, and despite the situation outlined above, the attendant who helped us for all our fitting appointments (and there were multiple due to the circumstances) pretended not to know who I was. They gave us the merchandise, and my name was spelled incorrectly.

I saw a Yves Saint Laurent woman's outfit for sale, beautiful dress shoes, mens dress coats and so much more. I stopped in today with a friend because he enjoys thrift shopping as well. Prices here are a bit high but the product is selective thus the cost. The store also is a non profit and does donations to the community, which I love. I didn't buy anything here today, but have been here before in the past and bought a thing or two. If I find a treasure that suits me, and it's in my budget I'm game. I think they do have occasional sales depending on what's happening, so shop here often and frequently.

The shop is narrow, but LONG, with clothing and accessories up front and then different cubbies of home goods as you go in further, ending in the back with miscellaneous more home goods, fine china, bigger furniture items, a kid's section, movies/music/books, and men's ware. There's something for everyone here and a portion of the proceeds are donated to charity as well, so it's for a good cause while you're also giving all these items a second life in your or a loved one's home!

At Bridal Expos and online, you usually get bombarded with the chain Menswear places to do your business with for your wedding day (like I did). The styles at these places were bland and I wanted something different. I stumbled upon Sam Michael's and from my first visit (of probably 5 or 6 in total), I was hooked! Walking in here for the first time, I didn't know what to expected. I explained that I was getting married, and 8 groomsmen and 2 parents that needed suits. I was sat down and shown all of my different rental options, which included suits, tuxes, pants, ties, shoes and other accessories. So many decisions, but I was granted the ability to stay there and think carefully, but also explained to that I can change it as many times as I want up to a month or so before the wedding date. Attached are some pictures of the suit I picked for myself and my groomsmen. It was a brand new suit in their inventory that they personally owned, as well as the color choice for my accents (pocket square and tie). Michael and team were very professional through the entire process. We had multiple texts and phone calls back and forth during my moving of our wedding date as well as when my accent color was discontinued. After the wedding was all said and done, I was granted a $500 shopping spree on a suit set of my choice. That was really exciting and I got a nice blue, checkered patterned suit. Initially the suit was advertised to me as "slightly more expensive" but better quality and service than competitors. After we allocated our wedding finances after we got married, at Sam Michael's, I actually spent LESS than what I budgeted and LESS than a competitor I was initially going to go with. Then I spotted the wall of tulle and a ton of dresses that would work perfect for an 80's party I am going to next month. It was a Saturday at 6:45pm and they closed at 7:00pm. Working retail previously myself, I didn't want to make Toni stay late. I hurried and tried about 5 different dresses on. One stuck out as a winner, just is just barely didn't fit. Toni took down my information, the dress information, and assured me they would call the supplier in California on Monday to find out if it could be special ordered in my size. Monday I got a call from Megan from the store following up from the previous weekend. They were on top of it, which I truly appreciate! I feel like I usually have to call a place 7 or 8 times to remind them. Megan let me know that the dress was available, and went ahead and ordered it for me. I just got another call from Megan this afternoon letting me know the dress arrived earlier than anticipated, and is ready for pick-up! I believe not taking appointments for anything other than wedding dress is corp policy but it needs to be changed. They don't have enough space to accommodate all the walk ins! -Sales staff seems aloof. When we went shopping for the Mother of the Bride dress they told us to start browsing and a sales person would be over to help us get a room situated. No one ever came and we just ended up asking someone near the dressing rooms if a room was free. -The dressing rooms are situated very awkward/cramped. All 3 times I have been to this location in the past 6 months (for a bridesmaid dress for a wedding I'm in, for my bridesmaids to buy their dresses for my wedding, and my mom's dress) we have been cramped in a space with the small group (anywhere from 2-5 people) where it was difficult to stand out of the way to watch what others are putting on. A few times I basically stood in the rack of the veils to try to get out of the way so I could see what the dresses looked like but also be out of the aisle. No where to put your stuff or sit. It would be nicer to have more space or situated with some seating. Overall I prefer the Novi location, it's not as crowded and it appears more recently remodeled. I had to visit the store a total of 3 times and each time I the floors were very dirty and were never vacuumed. 2) The sales people should dress more professional. My maid of honor was kinda brushed to the side and not taught, and our photographers who have bustled hundreds of dresses couldn't even figure out how it worked because it was much different than any they had seen. Denise's Bridal saved the day! Our back story... We…read morepurchased my daughters wedding dress in a highly rated bridal shop. However, after the third fitting in the shop, we were still unhappy with the results. My daughter said the front looked like it was off centered and the back of the dress, that had a low back, was gapping. Also, the bustle seemed to be too long in the back, easily a trip hazard when dancing. The seamstress from the shop said we would have to use body tape to avoid the gapping, especially since there was no lace to hide the gaps. My daughter normally wears a size 2-4. This was not the look of the sleek designer dress, with clean lines we bought. We were told basically there was nothing more could be done, except press the dress and to come back for our 4th fitting one week away from the wedding date. I started searching for highly-rated seamstress' and was lucky to find Denise's Bridal. Denise took us in, 2 weeks before the wedding. She spent an hour or more with my daughter with her dress on, asking questions, listening and explaining to us what she would alter, and how much time it would take, and the cost. We found out the front of the dress was previously altered 2 1/2" longer on one side in the front of the dress then the other side (thus my daughters concern about it looking off-centered). Denise said she could fix the front, alter the bustle to the correct length, clean up the back bow, and make sure there were no gaps in the back--and that after buying an expensive designer dress--a bride should not have to use body tape. Denise did excellent work the dress looked exquisite, fit beautifully, tailor-made, centered with no gaps in the back (no need for body tape), dancing in it was a breeze. Thank You Denise! You truly saved the dress and the day! We are forever grateful ! Thank you for your fine skill and craftsmanship!
