I have loved my experience with Bountiful Internal Medicine. I called them to setup my first appointment and the staff was super nice. They were nice in person too. I have been seeing Dr. Rivera and she is amazing. First visit she listened to me, got an initial plan on where we should start and has been very thorough so far. She referred me to Dr. Oka do some testing including an EMG and he was great too. Also very thorough and listened to me. He was able to find a diagnosis and start me on medication with me following up with Rivera on the meds. The medicine has already helped and I'm truly grateful! Also one of my favorite people to see is Maggie the nurse. She is sweet, thoughtful and funny and she remembers things about me and my son whom she met just once and asks me about him each time. My visit was in person and was everything I want and need from an MD or NP ot PA. The front office staff were prompt and very willing the help with the requests I made. My wait in the reception area was as expected. Every medical office will move a patient from waiting area to exam room within 5 minutes of their appointment time so they can say they are 90 percent on time but then the wait begins and depends on the amount of time the previous patients require. An MD NP PA must stay and patiently help every patient and answer every question without appearing to rush and leave. Every patient should bring something to read because the exam room wait will always be between 5 and 60 minutes. The exam room will not have magazines because that implies a LONG WAIT. With free Medicare for all this procedure will double the wait. read more

I go to Dr. Joshua Oaks here. He is a doctor of internal medicine. There is a medical lab down the hall from his office so it is very convenient to get lab work done in connection with your visits. He bought the practice from Dr. Grant L. Christian who retired. There are both male and female doctors available at this location. I've been going to doctor Oaks for a couple of years and am happy with his care. Also, the more advanced tests he prescribes are at Lakeview Hospital, which is just a stone's throw from his location on Medical Drive in Bountiful. He takes Medicare patients and accepts Medicare insurance. read more

We visit with Dr. Southworth who in our opinion is the best. My husband, myself and my 92 1/2 yr. old Mother are his patients. He knows what is needed for all and takes the time to explain the what and why he is suggesting a certain treatment ( not always easy with the old one). We thank him for his kindness. The office is very clean and the girls on the phone and behind the counter are excellent. Very rarely do we have to wait more than 5 minutes to be taken back to our exam room. We love Marjorie.....Mom's favorite nurse. All in all this is a good experience with a great outcome. read more

I have been going to Dr. Oaks for a couple of years now and I would HIGHLY recommend him to others! One of his greatest strengths is his ability to completely listen to me as a patient, and then afterwards ask follow-up questions, before we decide on next steps. In addition, I have always been extremely impressed with his excellent follow-up (he has even personally called me at home several times to follow-up), instead of having an assistant call me. I have been with this doctors office for years and I have never left with a question or concern. My needs are always met with plenty of time given and the problem addressed. If the doctor feels like I need a different type of specialist they will hook me up with an appointment. The office staff always takes my messages and delivers them to my doctor or his nurse. This is literally my first time leaving a Yelp review. But Dr. Nathan Phelps is definitely worth it. He does a great job of hearing your concerns, helping in the ways you're hoping for, and suggesting a couple/few other options to further elevate your health. His accommodating, approachable, thoughtful and helpful style is amazing. I wouldn't want to go anywhere else! I switched to this group years ago when my insurance quit covering my regular practitioner. Dr. Christian had been highly recommended to me, and I loved him so much! Now I'm with Dr. Oaks and couldn't want for more. He takes time to listen and explain, and it's obvious that he cares for each patient! On the occasions I've seen Melanie, she was good, too. Dr. Rivera was the first doctor of several to take me seriously and listen to my concerns. She referred me to several surgeons when I struggled to get help, and she sees me quickly (within a day) to address issues I am having. I'm thankful to her care and concern.
