I had to finally find a new PCP for my aging mother. We were with WFM for a few years. Through 2 exchanges of ownership or management. We mostly saw APRN Lindsey Martinez who is kind and seemed to be a good listener, but after a nurse in training who was shadowing Miss Martinez said something about moms prescription being too large of a dose, APRN Martinez had to stop, go over moms medication notes and indeed admitted "oh yes, that is a mistake" then adjusted the prescription. It was not very reassuring and to be honest I am thankful for that shadowing nurse. Whoever she was she was a godsend because after that visit I began taking notes of our interactions. Researching mom's meds, so I could be informed. On one visit I questioned why mom was on Metformin and Metoprolol when she only has high blood pressure not high blood sugar and if we could eventually wean mom off of all 4 of them when she gets her blood pressure under control. I was told some BS about mom needing to be on all of them. I can call it BS because the new doctor I found closer to our new home questioned why mom was on those exact blood sugar medications and said he would like to take her off them on our first visit with him. He kept her on the two blood pressure meds and I am tracking her progress for our next visit. There was also a lot of confusion with scheduling. When mom had been in last and what she had been in for. I had to tell them what she had done on the last visit from my notes. They would give my mom cortisone shots for her bad knee whenever mom would ask for it. Mind you mom has early signs of short term memory loss, so she wouldn't remember when her last visit was. Only that her knee was in pain and that the shot helped. Once they gave her 2 injections in one month. That was the last straw because from what I researched you should not have another cortisone shot for at least 3 months from your last cortisone injection. It can cause more damage than good. Our new doctor confirmed that those injections should only be given 3 times a year. 4 at the most. Do your due diligence and find someone you connect with and listens to you. You have to advocate for yourself and your loved one's. I'm glad I finally found a doctor I believe genuinely cares about helping people and listens to their needs. read more

I'm unimpressed with this office. Theyre unfriendly, won't be put out for anything. getting script refills always requires another appointment. The providers give the vibe annoyed if you take some time to ask extra questions. Giving the impression they've got to get to the next patient. I completely disagree with 1 star reviews and that's why I am writing my own. My doctor is Dr Callahan. I love her. I used to go to UOfU and I hated it. Communication is amazing at Wade's clinic. My Dr sends my Rx on late Saturdays and early Sundays, I was amazed when I got a massage that my Rx was ready. I don't go to the lab upstairs. No issues with billing what so ever. I feel that Dr genuinely treats me as a whole person. Love it, no concern with the office staff either. read more

My family and I have had endless bad experiences at Wade unfortunately. I've ended up at urgent care several times after appointments there. They won't refer you to other practices such as ENT or urology if needed, they typically just send in medications, and often have you come in again and pay another $100 copay just to discuss medications. Definitely not all but the majority of the doctors there were very cold, and seemed almost upset to be working. The office is very friendly. I have many bad stories from this place, they are definitely more interested in billing people then helping them. I wouldn't recommend. read more

Had one of the worst experiences, for only a follow up appointment. Spencer Lake was completely unprofessional and had a tantrum in the office and walked out rather than trying to listen to what was being said. If you talk over someone, you're probably not going to understand what they're saying, especially if you're just waiting to speak, rather than listening. The conversation did seem to shift when I mentioned "my husband" so not sure if homophobia had anything to do with it. I'm also not sure if he had a bad drive on his way to work, or couldn't poop before he left home but it was coming out in his attitude and I will not be going back to that mess. The front office staff at the Lone Peak office in Draper provide the worst customer service I've ever experienced with a doctor's office. The website promises a reply to emails within 2 business days, but after a week with no response I stopped by in person and was told I just needed to keep waiting for a reply. The receptionist refused to make any effort to see if there had been a misunderstanding, or if my emailed question had slipped through the cracks or been forgotten. The front office staff are a stubborn barrier to communicating with any medical staff. They obstruct rather than facilitate getting needs met or questions answered. My lab work has been delayed for two weeks so far, and the receptionist's answer was to just keep waiting for someone to reply. She refused to even send a follow up email. Medical staff don't have voice messaging, so the only way to contact them is through email. There's been a huge change for the worse in the Lone Peak office since Oaks Medical Group took over. The medical staff are great, but I'm not sure it's worth putting up with the receptionists and newly implemented barriers to communicating with your doctor. read more

Very disappointed that Wade changed ownership. Billing is horrible, and they new people at front desk are rude. I am sorry to be leaving because i have been coming here for years, but two visits this week and I can't do it anymore. Insurance billing is always a problem and never gets resolved. Update: I'm reflecting on my dealings with Wade Family Medicine, at the time I was hypoglycemic, and didn't know it, I remember asking the Dr Sean for labs, he refused at first and wanted me to take the anxiety meds. I requested for labs three times and I remember him rolling his eyes. When we got the labs back he said I was fine. I recently had another Dr look at those same labs...come to find out, my thyroid was also Hypo. So not only was I going hypoglycemic, my thyroid was hypo and Sean the Dr at Wade said I was fine. On another note, I know of two older women that used to go there and labs showed one lady had cancer and the other STD's....when in fact, they did not and the labs had to correct the issue and apologize. So not only is Wade horrible, their labs are too. Please go somewhere else if you care about your health. I'm just waiting to hear about the next lawsuit. Dr's get fired or leave from that facility as well. They want your money, thats it. read more

For a lot of 2021 I was feeling dizzy and sick almost everyday and was really concerned. I talked to my doctor, Dr. Callahan, made sure I was taken care of. She ran some blood tests and I got my results back really quickly. When I didn't get my meds for 2 months she wasn't happy about the situation either and sat with me until I filled out the patient portal this past fall. When I had to cancel an appointment day of she made sure I got it cancelled. Twice now when I had to talk to her about getting my meds, she responded same day, one of those days was on thanksgiving. I wasn't expecting a response on a holiday. She has always been really helpful and nice. read more

The receptionist said that I can only speak with the doctors assistant, so I asked what I should do if I would like to speak to a doctor directly about my medical concerns, and she just reiterated I was "out of luck" because the doctors won't talk to me. I went in with some heavy concerns about my health. Madison Finch, the PA, was the one I was seen by. She was wonderful. Non-judgemental, didn't make me feel like she was in a rush to move on to the next patient, and spent about an hour with me just talking about my concerns. She also let me keep my appt even though I was 30 minutes late. She was thorough and understanding. One of the best visits I've ever had in a medical setting. She definitely chose the right field to be in. The receptionists and nurse were great too. Oh! The phlebotomist who drew my blood was absolutely incredible too, I didn't even feel it when he poked me.. I couldn't have asked for better from any of them. Lindsay Martinez at the Wade Family Clinic ruined my life. I went in for what was supposed to be a simple procedure in October. It is now January, and I am still in constant pain. I called the clinic several weeks ago to report that I was still having significant issues and, after several hours waiting for a call back, her medical assistant (who did not come across as the sharpest knife in the drawer) alerted me that I needed to see a better doctor because Lindsay did not know how to fix my ongoing issue. After my initial procedure, I was not adequately prepared for how long a recovery I was going to experience, nor how I was supposed to care for my wound. I am reasonably certain Mrs Martinez had never performed this type of procedure before and was using me as a human guinea pig. On my initial visit to Wade Family, Mrs. Martinez (I refuse to call her doctor--doctors help people, not make things much worse), prescribed me a muscle relaxer and anxiety medication without explaining any troubling side effects of the two meds--I called a pharmacist friend of mine to get his advise on the two meds and he informed me when taken together, these two specific medications can be lethal and that I should not take the medicines together under any circumstance. Seems like something that should have been communicated to me by my doctor, right? Come to find out several weeks after Mrs. Martinez butchered me, that she got her Nurse Practitioner license from some shady online medical school--Let me tell you, it shows. Mrs. Martinez should not be practicing medicine and the Wade Family Clinic should be ashamed to employ her. I hope Mrs. Martinez one day experiences the discomfort and frustration that she has caused me. P.S. On both of my visits to the clinic, each room I was placed had multiple pieces of literature on the walls containing dangerous, debunked misinformation about coronavirus. I have been coming here for about 2 years and have been happy with everyone I have never had a problem with the office staff or the wait time either. I have recently changed to seeing Sean Webster PA due to not having to wait for an appointment it makes it easier for me since my work schedule changes so frequently. The front office staff has always been very pleasant and the only problem I have ever had was once when I called I got left on hold for a long time, I hung up and called back and was answered right away and they were very apologetic for the inconvenience. read more

Friendly, helpful staff, unless you have a chronic pain issue. You can't receive chronic pain treatment there, at all. I've been one of Dr Freestone's patients for years. He helped me with my Fibromyalgia, until he moved to Wade Family Medicine. One day he tells me, " I will no longer fill your Fibromyalgia medications. We don't treat chronic pain here." And that was that! That left me scrambling to find another doctor before my medications ran out. Most of these medications have very nasty withdrawal issues, unless phased out slowly! Pros: Can always get in the day I call Cons: Not once have I ever been greeted or told 'we will be right with you' when i walk in. I just stand there wondering which of the 3 lady's I am supposed to walk up to. I won't go on here and say which doctor I have used, but it seems he is not wanting to prescribe anything that will help out that might 'alter' your brain. I have mixed feelings about this practice. I have high cholesterol. I'm surprised there wasn't a follow up call after given medication since it was last October when I had it checked. Fast forward to April and I asked them to check my cholesterol. They caught my high blood sugar and according to my diabetes educator if infected a week later I would have ended up in the hospital. I'm grateful they caught it! However, my endocrinologist drastically changed up my medications and the doctor from Wade Medicine gave me the incorrect dosing schedule and a expired sample. Also, during a blood draw I made a comment to another patient about not having my coffee yet. The technician gave a very rude comment on how "not everyone drinks coffee" . Which seemed like a i'm holier than thou for not drinking coffee. Overall great for flu shots and routine visits. However, if you suffer from chronic conditions I would probably avoid this place. read more

I have had nothing but trouble with them for the last 2 years. Rude and careless PAs the only screw up my prescriptions, lab work, and referrals, Completely careless about solving my problems. This medical facility and their Dr.'s have almost cost me my life, more than once. I went here growing up, mostly for sports physical. I would not recommend this place for anything else. I was misdiagnosed 3 times, with two different doctors. I was prescribed multiple unnecessary and unneeded drugs from this provider. Recently a specialist came in and fixed the wounds cause by Dr. Wade and his staff. I was prescribed a needed medicine for ADHD. But to obtain this medicine, I needed a letter qualifying a qualifying condition from my primary care provider. I was due for a physical, so I scheduled one, with the intent of having the letter signed. And because of his political and religious beliefs, I was unable to receive a needed drug for ADHD. When the nurse told him I had a letter to sign, I heard them mocking me and my other doctor, calling me "delusional" and my doctor "a joke." I was in disbelief. My favorite quote from this "medical professional," was, "I just don't believe in it." The visit lasted 50 seconds. He would not explain to me his reasoning, or any back up information on why I could not be treated. I refused the physical exam because I was not going to put cash into this mans pocket, or any part of this place. It is sickening that patients are being treated determining moral values over science. Please, if you care for their safety, don't take your family or yourself here. read more

In the process of changing my Family Physician, I gave these folks a go. Allow me to preface my remarks by stating, I had an excellent Practitioner in Internal Medicine. She was my Doctor for about five years. Sadly, for me, great for her relatively young Family. She decided to retire her practice to become a, Stay at Home, Mother. Hence, my search. God bless her and her wonderful family. They are an adorable Bunch. Wade Family Practice does have a friendly staff and a fine group of Doctors. However, they've been frighten off, due to government intervention and their inherent, long reaching hand. As a result, they circumvent themselves from treating pain and anxiety properly, in house. I find that a shame. In fact it appears they're frightened to prescribe any medicine which is considered to be a Controlled Substance, regardless of its purpose. As a result, they ship you off to another practice, all-the-while, trusting you'll stay for your other ailments. I never have been fond of whimp's lacking a backbone. So I've moved on and found an extraordinary Physician. I do enjoy having a Doctor whom communicates and converses with their Clients. After all, despite it being a Medical Profession, it nevertheless, is a service to which we pay. We should be a large part of the narrative, shared betwixt to adults. I'm incumbent to rate them as I see fit, in my opinion. Undoubtedly there are those enjoying their services and are quite fond, I'm sure. They are nice in terms of personality, but I was searching for far more than that in a Physician. read more

We went in for a check up not to be grilled about things not relating to health at all. Brittany is the type of person who makes it hard for me to trust medical professionals. This office is great to get an appointment fast, however, they excessively make you come in for an appointment so they earn co-pay or doctor visit money. They were making me come in every 3 months for an RX refill, and when I asked their reason was "Obamacare". I paid $75 out of pocket for a 3 minute appointment; not an exaggeration. I asked my OB-GYN about it and she said no, you can get a year at a time of the same RX and there isn't any reason why it would be required otherwise. She then refilled my RX for a year. This, and a combination of other experiences, is why I've found a new family doctor. read more

PA Sean Webster does not spend more than 5 minutes with his patients and then decides that he doesn't know what is making them sick and sends them away with an antibiotic prescription even though he thinks the sickness is viral. He never asked me what symptoms I was feeling. I work in the healthcare industry and I know that there is no excuse for his lack of care for his patients. Dr. Wade has been my doctor for more than half of my life now. He always makes me feel comfortable and he knows me. Some people like him and some people don't but that's how it is with everything. We saw Dr Cahoon today for my teen daughter for her well check and also to talk about anxiety, asthma, and some pain due to a genetic connective tissue disorder (EDS) which I've been diagnosed with and she is showing early symptoms of. Not only was Dr Cahoon EDS aware she really knew it and had some great ideas to help my daughter. She also went out of her way to help us have a plan for everything. I'd definitely recommend Dr Cahoon, she speaks teen girl. read more

After 19 yrs as a patient, I had to see one of the PA Hanna Porter who mis-prescribed medicine more than once and when I asked to see Dr. Wade, he was rude and condescending and would not listen to my side of the story as far as the issues I had with Hanna Porter. He told me I was discharged. I have never been treated like that in my life, they are so big they don't care. You are a number and not a person. I would strongly suggest going somewhere else and don't put yourself through the treatment I received. Not only have I been a patient, both my children were as well and one of my sons went to Wade Laser and they are unprofessional and overpriced. read more

Dr Freestone is a great doctor unfortunately he is now practicing with this sham of a practice. I went in last January for my annual physical, just as I have for 13 years. I was shocked to find it was coded to the insurance as an extended new patient visit and I was billed due to deductible $200, it would have been covered 100% had it been coded correctly, I called and after four months of run around they wouldn't budge or rebill. They even had the audacity to tell me I was anemic and that the appt type was not for an annual. I ASSURE you I am not Anemic..lol. I finally decided to stop arguing find a new dr and just pay the bill. Started to make payments from my HSA card, but they can't even get that right. I made a $50 payment no problem. Then I made a $75 payment, which they say they never got...my account clearly shows the money missing now they are asking me to prove it. THis place is a scam. I am reporting them to every where i can think of. be careful. Review your bill and look at the codes they use, I happen to work in medical coding and billing, so I know what to look for but use google if you have to, this practice has no qualms in ripping you off. BTW I have a hunch they are blocking me from talking to Dr Freestone and he has no idea any of this is happening. read more
