We were going to drive to NC and pick one, but when I learned they were set up 10 minutes from our home, we rushed over. We went on a Saturday the weekend after Thanksgiving, and as we pulled in a truck full of fresh trees pulled in behind us. The operation was efficient; one guy gave them a fresh cut, one guy ran a post through the base, and another set them out. All of the guys working there were in their late teens or early 20's, and were super helpful - they even wrapped the tree and loaded it into my truck. We've had our tree up for almost 4 weeks and it still looks as healthy as the day we picked it out. I can't recommend Sugar Mountain Trees enough!

Nothing like Home Depot or any other big box retailer that doesn't care about the quality of the product. The owners and their crew take their time with customers to help them find the perfect tree in their price range. I have been buying trees from them for more than 25 years and wouldn't go any other place!

There's lots of activities, photo opps and pumpkins to peruse. But in comparison to another spot we've been to we felt like there were some options missing for us personally. This isn't a knock to Hodges, just a personal preference. Now, if you have family in town and kiddos in tow this place is PERFECT! I would definitely recommend it for a fun fall time. Parking was easy, even on a super busy Saturday. There's plenty of signage so you know what's going on in all areas. The animals were pretty cool inside the barn too.

Still lots of photo opps all around the farm. We were able to do participate in some new things since it was the weekend; like their Hayrides/Tractor Ride. The line was never not long but it was something to do. The ride itself is about 15 minutes and takes you around the farm. We grabbed some popcorn before getting on it though. It's freshly popped and so delicious! We also go to visit the petting area and feed some of the goats, sheep, cows and rabbits. Our toddlers had a blast! Good family fun for the fall season. && I got a funnel cake before we left (topping choices powder sugar, Carmel, chocolate, and strawberry syrup). The wind made it colder on the pumpkin side of the farm and unfortunately they didn't have warm apple cider. I expected them to have something warm that kids could drink (non coffee). Tips: Bring a blanket for inside the wagon. Don't wear your nice shoes. Bring a tripod or stand for photos.

We arrived…read moreabout 5 mins before they opened and waited over in an apartment parking lot until they opened their entrance. They opened right on time and we went in to park. Shockingly there was only one other car there on a Saturday in December, which we were very happy about. We anticipated a big crowd. We parked and walked up to the front, they have a lot of signage all around that I think is more so for their busy times. I can imagine it gets hectic and this is how they keep folks organized and sane lol. Once you walk in there's decorations everywhere and so many photo opps. I kept saying to my boyfriend how cute it has to be at night with all the lights. They have all kinds of different size trees with different "bushyness". Each tree is tagged and labeled, they tell you once you find your dream tree simply remove the bottom half of the tag and bring it to a staff member. They then take your tree, give it a fresh cut and wrap it for travel. Then you jump in your car, follow a fun trivia trail right to where you pick it up. Again, this is more for busy days but it was fun lol. Then they load the tree into the car for you. We had a pick up truck so there was no need to tie it down but the car before them needed their tree tied down and the staff member helped him do that. Really great service!!! We purchased a gorgeous 8ft tree, the tree holder and a green tray to go under it all to catch water and pines. The pricing was very affordable, which also surprised me. I also loved that they have a prayer chapel where you can write a prayer and hang it on a tree. Very touching! The best part is your purchase helps to fund 30 different local charities and some goes to help Western NC too!!! This place was really special and such a fun time! My inner child was overjoyed and so fulfilled! I always have a fake tree at Christmas and this year something told me to go for the real thing. I'm so happy we chose Snowflake Village!! We had the best experience ever and will go back to them again and again. I highly recommend this spot if you're in the market for a real Christmas tree this year or in the future. Thank you so much to Kristi and Snowflake village for our beautiful tree and memories!!!

She read good things and the hours were perfect for us to stop in on a beautiful Saturday morning in August. They are open every Saturday morning, April through December from 8am-12pm. We arrived about 10am and it was very busy. The main parking lot was full and there was a small line of cars trying to find parking spots. We continued on to the overflow parking area closer to the river bank and there was plenty of parking available. We walked up to the location of the market which is a covered area providing shelter from inclement weather and the hot summer sun. The variety of the different booths is diverse. Everything from fresh vegetables, canned salsas, jams and jellies, baked goods, pottery, frozen meat, and fresh flower bouquets. We enjoyed seeing all the various items and ultimately bought a package of six S'mores cookies which were incredibly delicious! It's been quite some time since we've been to a farmers market and this is a great one. Highly recommend if you are in the area.
