Nikki should 100% charge more. We chose Boulevard Barbers for my son's first haircut and she made it so special, giving us a lock of his hair and a certificate. We've gotten about 5 cuts since with Nikki and my 2 year old son has been... frankly a nightmare: crying, jerking his head, sliding out of the chair. Nikki is so patient and professional. I have no idea how she does it without poking his eye out with the scissors but I'm SO grateful she does such a great job and puts up with us. She's the only person who has successfully trimmed the hair over his ears. The line can get long here so it would be nice to make a reservation or appointment but the old school barber experience is pretty special. Nikki is well worth any wait. read more

Boulevard Barber Shop - Nikki works Saturdays and is exceptional for first haircuts, toddlers and children. - Barbers Near Me - Petaluma, California

Throughout the time we have spent in shelter in place for covid, my handsome hubby had not been able to go to his barber and his hair began to grow to the point of being difficult to style because it was so luxuriously long. As we were walking downtown in Petaluma we walked past on a whim and found this barber shop and asked them if they were taking walk-ins. Surprisingly they were and they had a spot for him right then and there. I was pleased to see that they were taking covid precautions seriously and had plastic barriers between clients as well as everyone was wearing masks and they gave everyone a no-touch temperature check before they could agree to cut their hair. They only have two chairs going at the same time and everyone else waiting had to sit outside which was okay with me. My better half said that the gentleman that cut his hair was friendly and easy to talk to and took the time to understand what kind of haircut he wanted before he started in on the task at hand. Additionally, the price was great, they took the better part of an hour for this haircut and it cost a grand total of $26. At the time they only took cash but I don't know if that's just for now or if that's their standard process. The location is easy to get to right in downtown Petaluma, and I definitely think that we will be returning for the excellent and detail-oriented haircut as well as the hard to beat price. It's always great to find a good barber and hair stylist in our new locations when we move and this will definitely be somewhere I see us returning frequently for our barber needs. read more

Go here! I was in town for a quick work thing and then headed up north and in need of a haircut. Thrilled I found this place. Sarah had me sign up and I was in the chair in about 10 mins. She asked a few questions and gave me a great cut for cutting my hair the first time. If I'm in the area again I will for sure swing by! *note: cash only read more

I swung by just before closing to check out the place and ask about pricing, etc. The shop was empty except for Brian, who was closing up. To my surprise, Brian not only came to the door when he saw me looking in and answered my questions, he offered to cut my hair! Even though it was about ten minutes to closing, he took his time and paid attention to details. We had a nice conversation and I enjoyed the experience. He took safety measures seriously by taking my temperature, having me wash my hands prior to getting in the chair, and we both had masks on. Overall, I was very impressed with him being so accommodating and working past closing. The price was reasonable at $26. I was very happy with the cut, price, and experience and will definitely be coming back. read more

Went here before it was really open and they were installing fixtures and painting the walls. Received one of the best haircut I have ever had and sent a coworker down who had what they deemed a nice haircut as well. Very reasonable price and was happy to have finally found a barber I wanted to stick with. However, half a year later the place is always too busy for me to get a haircut anymore as my only chance is during my lunch hour. I have tried arriving a few minutes before 10 AM in order to get in without a wait but unfortunately the barber never arrived by 10:10 AM both times and I had to give up and leave. It is possible that the hours are incorrect and it does not open at 10 AM every day. I am hoping to catch it at 10 AM with the barber present soon as my hair has gotten really sloppy waiting to find an opening!! read more

First: they only take cash. If you've been scrolling through reviews wondering if they take plastic the answer is no. There is an ATM in the bar next door with a $2 service fee if you forget to bring cash. This place is tiny and as old school as they come. Apparently the space has gone through several lives and hasn't always been a barbershop. They offer a haircut for $26 and that $6 premium over a strip mall Supercuts got me one of the best haircuts of my life. The barber took nearly an hour with razors, blades and scissors to perfectly fade my back and sides and to style the top. Truly top notch work that they could charge a ton more for. They also offer a full old fashioned lather and shave or beard clean up. Definitely check this place out. read more

Got a cute short cut here. I wanted something specific and complicated, and she was up to the job. Normally, I hate going to the hairdressers, but this place is good vibes. She even showed me best way to style it. At the end, looked sharp. read more

Took a chance cause I like the looks of the shop. Brain did a great job and I'll definitely be back. Friendly atmosphere and great cuts

Great place and extremely friendly and professional staff. I was really impressed! Tips on the bike too?

I see Brian to trim and blend my beard and he does a great job at a reasonable price. They don't take appointments and are cash only, so be aware of that, but neither of those things bothers me at all. Price is barely above what SuperCuts/Great Clips charges and you get hot towel, neck lined up with a razor, and you're supporting a local business. I definitely recommend read more

Blvd Barber is the best! After each cut it feels like I just got done hanging with an old friend. Sarah is so friendly and a great listener, whether it comes to the details of your do, or whatever the world is throwing at you that week. But most importantly her cutting skills can't be beat and my hair always comes out looking super sharp. read more

No haircut for months so I tried to cut my own hair. Brian at Boulevard helped straighten me out without judgement. Thank you Brian for being a terrific guy and for your positive attitude as we all sort out our. We realities in this COVID-19 world. Very friendly staff with beautiful shop and great location. My barber was super nice and efficient, however I got chopped pretty badly here. I asked for a low fade and got no fade at all - my sides were entirely buzzed off. I got a high and tight military style cut when I asked for a low fade. Great people here, great price and great shop in general, just did not get what I asked for at all. At least it'll grow back!! read more

Just had my hair cut here. Not only did Sara do a phenomenal job but the atmosphere was great too. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a professional haircut at a reasonable price. After cutting my hair she inspected it one last time for any little stragglers and managed to take off a few. Most barbers cut you and don't bother to look twice at their work. The neck shave and hot towel were icing on the cake. Great job!!! read more

Brian did a great job on my head and was cool and friendly to talk with, too. I'll be back!

I've been going here to get my hair cut now every other Saturday for the last couple months. The stylist I was going to recommended I find a good barber because they can do the "hard part" shaved into my head better than stylists. These guys have done an awesome job every time. I have never gotten so many compliments on my hair! read more

Best haircut place I've ever been to because: 1 - I got the best haircut I've ever gotten, even though I didn't know what to ask for. 2 - Sarah was actually fun to talk to. Great vibe, easy walk-in, rad cut. I live 90 miles away, but will definitely schedule my business travel around my haircuts now. read more

Sara and Nikki are amazing! I love this barber shop. I have three sons from 15-3 years of age and they give each one great cuts. People stop me all the time to ask where they get their hair cut. It's in a great location, the wait time isn't ever more than a half hour, and there are shops near by to visit while you wait. The cuts are a great deal considering the quality. This is the perfect little barbershop always full of good conversation and charm. read more

Boulevard is like a blast from the past. It's a no frills (and no website/no credit card) kind of place. Just great people and a phenomenal cut and straight razor neck shave. Sarah and Dan (Fri/Sat) are top notch. I rarely write review on Yelp, but I greatly appreciate excellent service and good value in a product. I went in this morning for my first shave ever using a straight edge razor. I received both excellent service and great value. Sarah is terrific! She talked me through the service, made it feel luxurious and most importantly gave me a great shave at a very fair price. I happen to be bald, so I don't really need to worry about good hair cuts, but it was obvious during my 30 minutes in the barbershop that they a have strong following of very pleased customers. I couldn't recommend this barbershop any higher for their services. Brett read more

To begin I think it is more fair to say this place is $$, as opposed to $. Also, whoever created this yelp page should change the acceptable methods of payment for this establishment b/c it does not accept credit cards. Came here once and probably won't be returning due to patches of uncut hairs, in addition to extremely short patches. Paid $30 for a haircut by a presumed professional to then have my highly untrained fiance attempt to correct their mistakes. read more

Enjoyed the few haircuts I had here and the lovely staff, but this is my third time trying to get back in to find it closed during normal business hours. Have decided to try find a new local barber. read more

Finally! A place that gives a great haircut, has stimulating conversation, and...does straight shaves!!! This new barber shop is awesome...and deserve every star of Yelp's "Woohoo! As good as it gets!" 5 Star review. ...and not just because I love all things that are red, white, and blue (which is basically everything in the shop.) Sarah is great to chat with, is local, and she gives a great haircut. Yes, the first two are important to me. Although my primary reason to visit is for the haircut (and a shave), and sometimes I want my cut as fast as I can get it, there are other times when a haircut is part of a relaxing day and I look forward to a bit of a visit. Sarah's happy and positive attitude is going to more than make up for the fact that my head is going to feel weirdly different all day. Her being local is a major bonus because it means she can talk about things that are relevant to Petaluma, as place I clearly love. (She used to cut hair at the Plaza Barber Shop and bartends locally.) The last thing I want to talk about is the Kardashians or how awful the cutters dating life is so it is great that I can talk with her about her favorite local restaurant, her recent travels, or what new shops have opened up downtown. But what I'm most excited about is that Sarah does straight shaves. (If you haven't had a straight shave you are missing out on one of the rare opportunities for us guys to really pamper ourselves.) It is getting harder and harder to find a place that does straight shaves so it is great to have a new one in town. The combo of older barbers retiring and older shops passing on to a younger generation of barbers has led to less and less straight shave options. Or, worse, I run into the alternative to 'no shaves', which is where the shop offers them, but only reluctantly. They basically try to talk you out of it because it takes a lot of time and energy. (There is nothing quite as disconcerting as getting a shave from someone who 1) doesn't want to do it, and 2) likely doesn't give them very often.) But not Sarah. She was more than happy to give me a shave...although unfortunately I didn't have the growth for it today. Not knowing that the shop has finally opened I mistakenly shaved this morning, so I'm presently straining as hard as I can to get my beard to grow out. As soon as it does I'll be back in there for the full treatment and will report back. (From the level of service during this visit, I anticipate a great shave.) Although not furry enough for a shave today, I definitely needed a haircut. I can never quite remember what the previous barber did to my hair so I am always unsure what to say when asked "How do you like it?" Honestly, I kind of go by feel, not blade number, and often get it cut differently depending on the weather. (When you get your hair cut as short as I like it you pay attention to the weather because having a cold head is a real possibility, even when you wear a hat like I do.) I always find the barber's response to my indecision as quite telling about whether I'm going to like them or not. Some barbers roll their eyes when you don't have a straight answer. Sarah had no problem with my indecision and was great at fine-tuning my cut to the exact way I like it. I could not be happier with my haircut and look forward to future visits. I have visited barber shops all around the world and like various ones for various reasons. (There is nothing quite like working my way through a total communication barrier in a small town in Italy or Spain, with pantomime and pointing (at their razor) as the only tools available to talk my way into a straight shave.) There are even a few local ships that do a great job and have friendly staff. But until now I have always tried to time my haircuts so I could get them while traveling to a location that know has a good barber shop that ALSO does straight shaves. Well, after longing for years for a local place to call my own, I am happy to say that Boulevard Barber Shop finally fits the bill and is "my favorite" barber shop. Damn do I love this town! (I'm not sure of her hours (will update when I return for a shave) but she charges $15 for a haircut and $20 for a shave. Seriously guys, splurg for the combo...at least once in your life. It will be well worth the experience.) read more

I can tell you a thing or two about bad haircuts. And the last haircut I got was not done by Sass and I confidently say that he may have been intoxicated or blind. I went to see Sass and she remedied my lobotomized head. Professional, fun, and one of the few places where you can get a hot shave. I highly recommend her. read more

I am always hesitant to walk into a new barber shop. I read the excellent reviews, made the leap of faith and walked in on a Saturday. Both barbers in the shop were very welcoming and professional. Allen gave me an amazing haircut. I am very happy and will definitely return. read more

It's a true shame that I'm only in Petaluma about twice a year, because this has easily become my favorite place to get a haircut. Alan, Sass' coworker, is one of the most genuine and nicest barbers I have ever encountered. The attention to detail brought upon my mop of hair blew me away; I couldn't believe I could get an hour-long haircut for only $15. Excellent. No wait, great cut, great service, cute shop. They want me to write mode for my review so this is what I'm doing here.

Perfect straight razor head shave! For guys like me who have waved goodbye to wavy locks... a clean smooth noggin is the best way to go and a clipper doesn't cut it the way a razor will. Try Sarah's shop. Psst: Not a "Men's Salon" - Together those words confuse me. (I don't need a "manicure with cuticle oil." Not sure what a cuticle is. I'm pretty sure I don't have one. If I do I will have it removed. If my car does, I will oil it myself.) Joking aside... A hot towel, lather, a razor and quick splash of aftershave to wake you back up... That's good and you leave looking great. This is a real deal barber shop. Nice place. Simple. Friendly. Comfortable. It is exactly what a barber should be. I'll be a loyal customer. PS: Great chairs. read more

So glad I found this place. I had errands to run in the area and wanted to get a good fade. I'm very particular with my barber as most men are so I was a little cautious until I went online and read all the reviews as well. I figured I might as well give it a shot so I got there at 10:15 AM on a weekday and Sarah was ready to work. I've received her service multiple times since then because it was a great experience overall. She's great conversation, styling and overall being a great barber. I was looking for a good skin fade with a blend for my beard and she definitely pulled it off even though she doesn't get a lot of fade requests in her shop. It can get busy from time to time, so I would suggest a weekend haircut when multiple barbers are there for faster flow or you can put your name on a list with her for an appointment and you will be contacted back when there is availability, which was convenient and simple. Good location for a barbershop as well. In downtown Petaluma where there is great food good place for drinks and a great atmosphere as a whole. read more
