Cowan and built in 1971, this structure was one of the Tampa area's first and foremost examples of ultra-lux, modern, tropical-themed condo buildings that focused more on a variety of price-points in unit sales over homogenic units floor by floor: with a grand total of 29 floors, the diversity of mixed-use space and various prices per unit here was a very astute idea. Like most of Cowan's projects, the Bayfront sports his love of warm, golden, colors, cubist-inspired curtains of metal for the service area space devoid of windows (and also for the parking garage), and his pragmatic extended bay window-approach to balcony space. While many architects working in Florida even in the 1970s were trying still to duplicate "old Spanish" styles in their condo and resort hotel projects, Cowan jumped into the future and replicated instead what leading European architects were doing in Spain and elsewhere. Thus, we have here a fully modern building but one with plenty of motifs that say "tropical" and "resort". As this has always been an expensive property, it's been pretty much kept in fine repair and looks good in and out even today. Worth checking out if you're an architecture geek in St. Pete or if you are in the market for a very sleek condo with a view.

I must admit, when I first moved here it was a joke.. But ever since the place got new people it's been nothing but upgrades. No crime, no bugs, no mold, maintenance is very convenient and weekly pest control. The only annoying thing you will have to deal with is loud kids running around but that's everywhere you go. The condo was clean, neat and had everything we needed. Very true to the pictures online. The pool was wonderful, the grounds very well maintained and at night everything was well lit. For example they randomly deactivated my key fob so I couldn't get into my apartment one day :) even tho I've never missed rent once. They also switched my call box number so I couldn't get in that way either. When I brought this up to them not once did they say sorry, they fixed it which was great but seemed pissed off that I'm even asking them to fix there mess up. My bad I guess lol, then today my car got hit and ran in the parking lot so I assumed oh I'll go ask to see the cameras and that'll give me an answer. They have no cameras except for there workout rooms and the pool. So no luck there for me either. It's just disappointing paying 2k+ for a 1 bed and we can't even get cameras in the parking lots for safety measures, just kinda crazy for 2026 imo
