You'll never see the same doctor twice because they never stay. I met with some terrific doctors at this practice (Dan, Shannon, Jen), the sad reality is that the dysfunctional managers/ staff make it impossible to retain decent doctors. I was on my 3rd doctor, Jennifer Johnson (she is AMAZING) however like all those before her, she no longer works there. I only found out Dr. Johnson had departed when I tried to book a follow-up appointment. As per usual, the receptionist was cagey with me, never disclosed that my Doctor was no longer working there. Never did they think to communicate this to patients, who pay $1,300/ yr in membership fees. I've been through this THREE times in three years.

I signed up, saw a doctor (Dr. Ryan) the same day. She was quite smart and spend 20 minutes just talking with me about my lifestyle before anything else. Then we spent another 20 minutes talking about my cold, tests we could do and ways I can improve my health. My appointment lasted almost an hour and I left feeling great that I finally have a doctor 1) I love and 2) I don't have to worry about the insurance game to see her. Guaranteed same day or next day appointment so none of the 3 month wait time nightmare that was my primary care insurance. She suggested a gym membership (they have a trial with CAC) and then asked if I needed help being accountable. She is checking in on me the next time I'm in. I've been back twice for various things and have had an absolutely amazing experience.

Dr. Luce practices "functional medicine" which means he blends science-based medicine with a focus on diet, lifestyle, and alternative modalities to achieve maximum wellness (not just "take this pill to get over your sickness"). I was largely healthy but had a few nagging issues like a general sluggishness. Dr. Luce offered to try to work within the confines of my insurance or expand we would do based on my checkbook. Since I generally don't spend a lot on health care, I decided to turn him loose. More than a half-dozen tests and a regimen of supplements plus a strict zero sugar diet later and my life is transformed! Seriously. I have never been a morning person but now I'm chipper when I first wake up. My mind is firing on all cylinders all day. I actually start feeling tired at a more normal 10pm instead of my old friend "insomnia". My general mood has been elevated to almost manic levels (but not quite, I still feel well grounded). I've tried all kinds of supplements throughout my life and this is the first time I've felt a big difference. My wife says she can see it just in how I carry myself. Your mileage may vary. I think I got lucky in that Dr. Luce was able to clearly figure out what I needed from my tests. Those tests and supplements weren't cheap and very little was covered by insurance. I had an immediate response to the supplements (literally over night). The long-term plan is to redo the tests and start reducing the supplements and modifying my diet. If you have the opportunity to work with Dr. Luce, try it!

I am giving him a one star rating... 1. on two occasions I was less than 5 minutes late and turned away. On one occasion I was assisting in an accident that occurred and the second occasion was due to weather that was not forecasted causing traffic to be extremely long. I love about 35 minutes away and would leave at least an hour before my appointment. I was technically late, but where is the reverse "punitive measures" when I am forced to wait? 2. When speaking with the staff that schedules, they are very abrupt and short. If I asked them to repeat anything, it was met with a sigh and attitude in the voice as if I were putting them out. 3. Billing is terrible. I have never received a first bill, only bills that say I am past due and pay immediately. When I call their billing office, I am met with an answering machine after a few minutes of prompts and have only received a call back 2 out of 5 times. Overall the feeling is that I am a number and dollar figure, not a patient.

When I began going to her practice early in 2006, I had a real horror of doctors' offices. My anxiety level would go through the roof when making an appointment and, as for actual exams, well, you know... About the latter I will say only that even in the most thorough exams, she is gentle. It is possible to be handled as if one is just another piece of human meat, so I appreciate that nothing in my experience with Dr Browne or other physicians in her practice is remotely like that. What impressed me first about Dr Browne is her cheerful, down-to-earth demeanor. This is not a physician who deigns to see you at her convenience. Rather, she is warm, welcoming, and tends to run awfully close to ON TIME. And yet I have never felt rushed by her. Go figure. In the past four years, I've had several matters that required tending by her and I have a chronic condition for which I see a couple of specialists. She is knowledgeable, up-to-date, diligent about research when needed, and she seems to play nicely with other physicians in terms of sharing information and paying attention to what she receives from them. It reassures me that she is both experienced and up-to-date; those qualities are sometimes mutually exclusive. One last, crucial point about Dr Browne. She is a listener. She does not interrupt and she does not have one eye on the door. She pays attention and she takes notes and she remembers things, or at least later is able to refer to notes that are obviously thorough. In my experiences with the office staff and P.A., they have seemed competent, efficient, and friendly. From my knowledge of Dr Browne's way of practicing as an internist, she deserves every accolade she has ever received.

When I tried to ask her a question she told me not to interrupt her she was ordering tests (?) for me. Then, when she was going to do a breast exam on me she couldn't find a gown, I said that was OK. So, I turned around to take my top off, and she does the exam and then she left the exam room, with her laptop of course, and left the door open!! She kept coming and going in and out of the exam room, with her "sacred" laptop in her arms (um, I was bare-breasted WTF was I going to do with it??) leaving the door wide open!! I had no idea if I was supposed to wait there or not? Finally, I got up off of the exam table and got dressed, and sat there and waited for her for several minutes. And several more minutes. And then several more. Then some assistant comes in the room and says "this is your referral for the blood test." I said "What happened to Dr. Hutchinson? I have been sitting here for at least 20 minutes waiting for her." The assistant said to me "Oh, she had to make an emergency call to the radiology dept at the hospital." I said "Take a call or make a call?" She said "Make a call." I said "You have GOT to be kidding me. She couldn't say goodbye, nice to meet you, welcome to the practice before she picked up that receiver to 'make' that emergency call? You can take that referral and..." I get there 15 minutes before my appointment, as requested, which was at 11:30, after weigh in and nurse checking vitals we waited 45 minutes! Dr Hutchinson was not prepared, had not read the report from the hospital and spent most of the time either with her nose in the keyboard typing or talking directly to my husband. Nor did she listen to my lungs and heart, which definitely is a standard process in my case! A complete waste of time
