I…read morehad pinhole gum surgery in 2021 that didn't work, so I needed to get traditional gum grafting. After reading the positive reviews for Flatirons Perio, I scheduled a consultation and long story short, it was the easiest and least painful surgery I've ever had. Dr. Misischia uses several techniques to minimize impact and IMO if you follow his post-op instructions, everything heals quickly and painlessly. I recommend planning ahead with the right foods and queuing up movies to watch so the downtime is as enjoyable as possible. For me the downtime was the only challenging aspect of this procedure, and it was much shorter than I anticipated. Everyone I interacted with at Flatirons Perio was delightful (including Dr. Misischia's dog, Rebel). Dr. Misischia is extremely personable and answered any questions I had. I was pretty "out of it" during the surgery but at one point heard him talking about Willie Nelson. He also told me how he prepares overnight oats with Matcha Tea (which I am going to try). I hope I never have to see a periodontist again, but if I do I trust this practice for their commitment to excellence and for making periodontal surgery "fun."

I had two implant surgeries at their practice last year. I have no complaints about the surgeries themselves, Dr. Dodge's bedside manner is great and he treats his assistants in a polite manner. However, the office is very disorganized. I had an appointment to pick something up, but when I arrived, I was told it wasn't ready. On another occasion, I came in for a suture removal appointment and asked a simple medical question, only to be told to come back another day because Dr. Dodge was not in the office that day. There were other appointments like that which made me feel like my time was not respected. They are getting paid while I'm there; my full time job doesn't pay me to be there. Additionally, I paid $550 for a flipper that I never received. I asked for it on at least three separate occasions, but my requests were denied. Following the advice of credit card companies, I tried to work with their office to get a refund for the service that was never provided, but my concerns were dismissed. Due to their delays, I missed the 60-day window to open a credit card dispute, and now it's been over 118 days and Chase told me that for legal reasons there was absolutely nothing they could do about it after this period of time. Lesson learned.

I agreed because I was flexible and I understand that emergencies happen. About an hour before my newly rescheduled appointment, I got a call asking if I could come in now because the office had to accommodate another "emergency". I was happy to do it but dubious of another emergency. When I saw Dr Dodge, I thought he was great and I loved your 'chair-side manner'. He evaluated my mouth and suggested a couple of grafts which I agreed would be worthwhile. After talking about the Bears and the NFL draft, he said it was nice to meet me and told me to schedule the graft with the front desk. When I said "I was scheduled for a cleaning", he said there was nothing in the calendar/appt about the cleaning but he graciously offered to do it himself on Friday at 7am. I thought that was too early and too inconvenient for Dr Doge who mentioned scheduling the cleaning the next day at 11am, he said he'd do the cleaning personally. I went to the front desk and your 'office manager' (?) brought me into a small room to talk about the graft, cost and scheduling. As that was happening, I heard the other front desk woman rescheduling several others because there was 'an emergency'. I scheduled my graft for the 15th of February and knew I'd be in the office on the 2nd for my cleaning with you. The next day, I came in on-time for the cleaning and was told there was no cleaning on the schedule. The office manager went back into the office and came back and said no one could do my cleaning because there was........you guessed it.....'an emergency'! The office manager said they would reschedule me to 1 March! At this point, I thought Dr Dodges office manager is not only incompetent but a liar. So I canceled my graft and unfortunately, I am ending my relationship with Dr Dodge. This annoys me because I wasted a lot of time on canceled appointments, didn't get my cleaning, know I was lied to and because I really thought he was excellent. Dr Dodge you need to get better, my competent and honest front office staff. I am sure I am not the only person who has had this experience so you are losing patients. Oh and by the way, it cost me money to have this botched appointment, I was disappointed that was not refunded.

I was expected to pay for them to tell me what needed to be done when I had them do the work...I'm most situations like this, it would be part of the total cost, not an additional cost AFTER I paid as agreed. Very unfriendly business staff....acted as if I hadn't paid them at all and was cheating them. Unfortunately in spite of the great dental work, they lost me as a patient. Watch out for "surprise charges" after paying a several thousand dollar dental bill.
