The breath of the past can be felt here! From its inception this was the hotel to be seen at. In 1932, Jim Webb brought his dream to Boulder City . It's a luxury hotel that has air conditioning. A place for all the A listers to stay, important individuals from around the globe to plan the future. This was their home away from home. Come in you're welcome here! The Boulder Dam museum holds so many historical artifacts from the early days of the day and outlines many toils of the past during its making. As you walk the halls they scream a story . If it was not for the "Friends of the Hotel, and its rescue in 1993, it might not be as great as it is today. After World War II, and the decades following the dam was closed and tourism fell to zero . Now after its restoration the breath of fresh air fills it yet again. Make sure and visit the hotel that inside this building. You can see how the Hoover Dam was actually constructed. How the design actually achieved? See the dam from the workers point of view. You can actually stay here too! The living space and rooms that so many people and actually workers have come before us. Truly what's not to love? Come and feel it ! read more

I loved this place! SUPER CLEAN. I owned a motel at one time, trust me - this place was clean. All the little things a lot of people don't noticed - It was quiet. I really enjoyed the Cleveland Lounge in the basement - Bartender, Karen, was great. read more

Great place if you like the feel of a run down mental hospital or assisted living facility. I cannot imagine who would enjoy anything about this hotel. The woman at the front desk with the "cat ears" on did not even say hello or greet me other than, "I need your credit card." She earned ZERO stars for customer service. If you hate your job that much, then leave. The room, with its view of a parking lot, looked and felt like I would imagine an old school mental hospital would look like. I didn't even unpack. I walked downstairs and handed Miss Congeniality my keys back. What was I thinking?? HOW could this place have so many good reviews? To each his/her own but it was a HARD PASS for me. The location is 30 minutes outside of Vegas, not convenient to anything. The town has a SUPER WEIRD vibe. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. EVER. Complete waste of my time and money. DO NOT STAY HERE. read more

For our anniversary we spent three nights in the Boulder Dam Hotel & our stay was, in a word; unforgettable. This property doesn't have the glitz & glamour found in the Vegas resorts, but it does have old time feeling of comfort & style. We stayed in the Carole Lombard suite where an attentive staff kept the room neat as a pin during our stay. The 1933 Restaurant in the lobby was a great spot to fuel up for the day, while the speakeasy in the basement was a wonderful place to relax & unwind. We found the entire staff at the property to be helpful, friendly & always seemed to be smiling. read more

Well if hotel wasn't historical I'd had said super waste of time. The bed has a huge dip in it and HARD AF. It's my bday n made sure to get reservations but when we showed gal said " im alone so it will be a long time" yes 1 hour when we got our food. I will say one thing rib eye is delicious although I came for a filet mignon was sold out at 6:00 which is when our reservation was. My husband also asked if they had any bday desserts n after going around the question basically no. Like I said the ribeye is incredible but that's it!! read more

We enjoyed our one-night stay at this historic hotel. Parking was abundant and easy to find. The historic building has two floors, with most rooms located on the second floor. We requested a room towards the back for added quietness, but given the age of the building, I don't think it made much difference. If you're a light sleeper, I recommend bringing earplugs. Our room was small but functional, and the furniture was well-maintained and in keeping with the period style. During our stay, we visited the museum, which is open until 7 PM, and enjoyed drinks at the speakeasy, which featured live music. Coffee and tea are available in the common area. read more

The Boulder Dam Hotel is by far the cutest hotel we have ever stayed in! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and our room was spotless, charming, and full of character. We also loved the rich history of the hotel, which made our stay even more special. Everything about our experience was wonderful. We only wish we could have stayed longer! read more

We like the unique places. You never know what you're gonna get. This place is super! The room decor is original and each room is unique. Beds are comfortable. We spent the evening in the "speakeasy" in the basement. What a great crowd. People just kept dropping in with different instruments and music styles. read more

We did not stay overnight but enjoyed a lovely conversation with the front desk attendant and visited the museum. It was so much better than the visitors center at the dam. So glad we found it!!! read more

Magical History Tour Historic hotel that was built in 1933 and has been one of the mainstays of Boulder City since it's inception. The Good: *Listed in the National Register of Historic Places *Showers were nice and hot with excellent water pressure. *No coffee machines in the room but there's a room that houses a hot/cold filtered water dispenser and also has a giant carafe that's always filled with the black nectar of the gods 24/7. *There's a plug w/ USB charging ports *Room AC works great *Cox Cable w/ HDTV programming *Pillows are decent *Free (donations accepted) History of Hoover Dam/Boulder City Museum located inside the hotel. *Check-in was pretty quick and smooth *Booked for $92/night (total including taxes and applicable fees) thru Booking.com *Ceiling fan in the room w/ remote *Lounge & Restaurant located in bottom floor. *Business center w/ computer & printer *Great location in the heart of DT; only 20min to Hoover Dam; and only 45min from Lost Wages. The Meh: *While you can def tell this place is old, it doesn't really have that cool "wow" factor other historic hotels we've stayed at does. *WiFi speed is not great, and the connection is very unreliable. *32" TV is kinda small for the room but at least it's good quality. The Ugly: *The mattress--and I use that term loosely--might as well have been a slab of granite. Even Carissa complained about it--and she never complains! If I bitch then it's because I'm a delicate flower but she never complains. So, yeah... TLDR: Overall great amenities but they don't you much good when you can't get a decent night's sleep. read more

Thank you Bonnie for a MOST enjoyable say here. Glitz is replaced with old world charm in a museum like setting in an historical landmark, wonderfully preserved venue. The history alone is worth a visit. Sure there are chain hotels you could stay in the area that offer the same oh hum bill of goods. This hotel is UNIQUE but in a good way. And the 1933 restaurant off the immaculate and quaint lobby, was 5 star as well. Friendly servers and great food and drinkies! Attention to detail, warmth and charm everywhere, and the staff was SO enjoyable and smiles to go around. See the in house museum before you venture out to Lake Mead or Boulder Dam. OR walk the quaint streets similar to many California boutique towns. All in all this is great for a two day visit from anywhere. Enjoy! read more

This hotel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places due to housing the workers during the construction of Hoover Dam- which is cool enough for 5 stars. It is located right in the heart of downtown Boulder City, making for a very walkable evening. The decor is time period appropriate to its original purpose; you will definitely feel as if you have stepped back in time. Luckily, the mattress and bedding are modern- I found them so cozy and comfortable! The on-site restaurant was closed (a sign mentioned "staffing shortages") but there is a cocktail lounge in the basement (called Cleveland's- I left a separate review on their page). This hotel also houses the dam museum and a small art gallery on the first floor. Overall, the room was quiet and the "old-time" atmosphere made for a pleasant stay. I'll be back. read more

Lovely antique furnishings and that VINTAGE TILED BATHROOM!!! Staff was super super nice and there's a lil museum in the basement too. Places such as these need to be experienced! Boulder Dam Hotel is a jewel of history that can still be experienced! Built when the Hoover Dam was constructed, the old hotel has been well taken care of over the decades! Yes, you can still spend the night there, and even dine in the main lobby restaurant that is simply packed on the weekends! They have turned a portion of it into a museum documenting the construction of the dam and it's well worth the fee admission to check it out! read more

A historic hotel, well-maintained, and unique. Some of the rooms are themed, and it still has the feel of a bygone era. We will definitely be returning - Bonnie at the front desk, Karen at the Speakeasy, and Crystal handling maintenance were all superb! Thank you ladies for making our stay so grand. We'll see all y'all in December for the 1930s themed cocktail party! read more

This review is the "The Speakeasy" lounge in the basement of the hotel. Stopped in to they their "The Ghost" white chocolate and vodka specialty drink after going on the Boulder City Ghost tour. The drink was unique and delicious. It happened to be a costume night in the lounge and the costumes were great, and entertainment also fun. The hotel itself is also very beautiful and relaxing, and the entire Boulder City is wonderful at night. A must visit both during the day and night. We will be back to check out the free museum and restuarant during the daytime. Thanks for a fun night! read more

This is one place you won't want to miss! This is a historic hotel, and is well maintained! Very clean, great features, and the staff is super friendly! The price is great and breakfast is included- a legitimate breakfast made to order!! I will say of our 5 hotels that we stayed in, this one was the smallest, but it really didn't bother us for our stay. The hotel is located near the center of plenty of eateries/bars that are within walking distance. (If you are from Fresno/Clovis, CA area and reading this, it reminds me of an Old Town Clovis feel.) The hotel also opened a new speakeasy type bar downstairs-Clevelands, and they offer first drink deals for hotel guests, and even after that, the drink prices and snack prices down at the bar are very reasonable. Like I mentioned, the room itself is smaller, but has amenities such as closet, iron board/iron in the room, alarm clock with USB outlet, In the restroom, there are soap and lotion dispensers by the sink and there are soap/shampoo and conditioner dispensers in the shower. Just like the smaller room, the shower is not the roomiest either, that was my husband's only complaint, but the water temperature/pressure is good! Overall, I really liked the experience of being in this hotel, and will definitely return for the atmosphere of the hotel and town!! Great choice if you decide on the Boulder Dam Hotel! read more

NIce hotel rooms here at the Boulder in my opinion. Set up a good 2 day stay here for some gambling and low key fun without having to deal with Vegas crowds, and just something as simple as having a low-key fun time. In 2020 I stayed @ 218 hotels all across the country and this place was by far one of my favorites and what a way to kick 2021 off staying here. I was in rm 217 the Carole Lombard room. It was awesome and I really didn't realize until some online reading that she was married to Gable . The staff were super friendly and the place was top notch. I actually sat by the fireplace for 2 hrs last night reading a book. The thoughts while sitting there wondering who all had stayed @ this historic hotel ran through my mind like a flood. Oh man I wish the walls could talk. My room was super comfy. The king bed was perfect as well as the shower This place will for sure be saved as one of my favorites. AAAA +++++ read more

Didn't stay here, but came for the museum since the visitor center at the dam is closed. This is a vintage treasure......I fell in love with this place almost instantly. DO you want to hear about my experience? Of course you do! Here we go....... CHECK IN: This is a small place, make your reservation online early and your room will be ready.... if not, you may have to wait a little while. You'll be in by 3 no matter what, but I was in around 2. The person behind the desk was hospitable. ROOM: I booked their King Suite. It reminded me of a cozy apartment. Everything in the room was in great condition and looked well cared for. The room had a kitchen area, living room area, separate bedroom and a vintage bathroom. The room keys are actual metal keys, so you know it'll work every time in the lock. There is a Museum in this hotel illustrating the history of the Hoover Dam, it's free for hotel guests! Speaking of free....this hotel offers a FREE full cooked to order Breakfast to hotel guests! Let me clarify: This is NOT some stale "continental" breakfast this is a go to the hotel restaurant, order off of a real menu and get a FREE COOKED TO ORDER FULL BREAKFAST! No other hotel i know of does this......it's a true find. Boulder City is green, quiet, safe and friendly. There are MANY neighborhood bars, restaurants and vintage shops in walking distance. It felt great to be there and i have it booked to go back soon! read more

This a review is all based on food quality...We only had 4 separate dishes but all was frozen fair and bland ... Fish and all condiments were bland/// chicken fried steak was one of the worst I have had /// even the toast was dry ( sat out prior to serving). Soups a chicken noodle would have been best served by Campbells those noodles in it suck up the flavor and make the overall soup bland.... The chowder with some pepper was ok.... Deflated expectations as I was told one of the better breakfast spots in Boulder City. The ambiance of a hotel from the 30's is always something to experience, but I was hungry and it was about food read more

We had a group of girls and a weekend reservation at the restaurant for lunch. Since we were arriving from Arizona, we mistakenly showed up an hour early for our reservation (daylight savings problem). Annie Rizzo was absolutely OUTSTANDING! She went out of her way to try and get us in earlier, asked if we needed anything while waiting, checked on our group every few minutes, and just went over and above what was expected from her as a hostess. Our lunch arrived pretty quickly, and everything was fantastic! We ordered a variety of breakfast and lunch entrees, and we all enjoyed it very much! Everyone was so kind and accommodating! Great experience! The hotel is a beautiful, historic hotel. Although we did not stay there overnight, I would love to do that one day! read more

my family and i have stayed in this hotel at least once a year for several years now. we have celebrated multiple milestone birthdays as well as spent fun girls' weekends at this hotel. after this weekend, we will no longer ever stay here. in 2024, while we were staying at the hotel, we made reservations before we left for the same pair of adjoining rooms we were currently utilizing for that same weekend in the following year of 2025. bonnie assured us that would be no problem and made the reservations for us. fast forward to 2025, we phone the hotel to check on our reservation as it has been a year and we haven't had any correspondence. bonnie assures us over the phone that our reservations are in place and everything is great. we arrive at the hotel the next day and are informed then that we have been bumped from our reserved adjoining rooms to two different rooms across the hall from each other in favor of a bridal party staying in the hotel the same weekend. when we asked how this could have happened since we booked these specific rooms a year ago, bonnie stated that whoever made the original reservation did not "lock" the rooms so they saw no problem in bumping us to somewhere else. bonnie was the one who made the original reservation and is the one who did not lock the rooms despite our explicit wishes and reservation of those specific rooms a year previously. we wish we had been informed at any point that our rooms had been given to someone else so we were not blindsided upon arrival and could have discussed possibly making different reservations for when the rooms were available again. we were given a 15% discount on the rooms which did not satisfy us after a year of looking forward to this weekend and this perhaps being the final trip i will ever get to make with my 85-year-old grandmother as her health is failing. our disappointment felt brushed off by bonnie and her staff and we were laughed at when we suggested a discount we felt was more appropriate for the circumstances. one of the rooms we were given also had mold growing on the outside of the shower curtain and the other had a perpetually running toilet that my mother had to physically repair herself within the tank. it's unfortunate that our enjoyment of this hotel has been soured so much and we have already booked our rooms at a different hotel for 2026. read more

Too busy to stop but too tired to continue, I found myself in the cozy arms of the Boulder Dam Hotel. This is the kind of place stories come from. It's very old -Nevada wise- having been built in the 1930's. But for every bit of old, there is a bit of modern. This is good and bad. It's holds the charm of 1930 but is not old and worn out. The guest rooms are sized the way 1930's rooms are and you will not have all the treats like big tubs or or even a desk. The windows do open so quick escapes are easy. So let's address the big question. Ghosts. Sadly, despite its reputation, we did not experience any paranormal activity. Maybe we weren't good enough. Since I'm the kind that always has to be looking over the shoulder it is always a good thing when everything is in one place. There is a wonderful restaurant and even better speakeasy where the Jazz is smooth and the drinks are smoother. This is perfect for charming the ladies and enjoying a cocktail. There is a wonderful museum that tells one everything one needs to know about the construction and history of Hoover Dam. I wish there was a gift shop. So many opportunities for sales were missed and my pockets were full of cash because the room rates were so reasonable. Since the rooms are 30's style, a sundries/snack shop would bring this place up to 5 stars. Since I have to keep low-key and out of sights for long periods. I need to "disappear" sometimes. All of Boulder City's charm is within walking distance from the Boulder Dam Hotel. This cannot be overlooked. You park once, swap the plates and the whole weekend is spent among the antique shops and restaurants. It's right next to a beautiful park so there is plenty of peace and exploring. You can hide in plain sight. There are so many reasons to like the Boulder Dam Hotel. If you want to get away and meld into the charm of Boulder City, it's the perfect place to take your guard down for a couple of days. read more

Pleasant historic place, convenient and well situated. I spent a couple of nights here this week unwinding, after realizing (again) that I hate Vegas. It's an old hotel, bear in mind. Rooms are small but comfortable. There's a good restaurant open for breakfast and lunch, and a bar in the basement. Staff are friendly and accommodating. When I brought back half a ceviche from the Soto place down the street (as you must), they found refrigerator space for it. You're a few steps from restaurants and bars, but it's quiet at night. I was looking for a quiet, non-Vegas place to work a few days. This place delivered. read more

I am impressed by the quality and ambience of the hotel itself. It's a lovely destination. That said, the cocktail prices downstairs at the bar are ridiculously high. The Boulder Dam Hotel offers a courteous staff and a comfortable lobby ideal for meeting up with people in a beautifully maintained old building that proudly displays evidence of the area's historic past. The hotel rooms are charming, well appointed, and extremely clean. Room price includes "The Compliments Breakfast"; a delicious made-to-order breakfast from a select menu. The breakfast alone is worthy of stopping here, which is what the locals do. Bonus: - Situated in the quaint downtown area and a short stroll to shops, restaurants, and entertainment; wine bar, craft brewery, sports bar, dive bar and more. Many of the entertainment venues have live music on the weekends. - Short picturesque drive from the Hoover Dam. read more
