This is probably my favorite City Hall in town. If you are in to City Halls, this is probably the best one in Boulder City.

I was shocked that they upgrade my room to a Boyd Suite. I emailed them 2 months ago and never responded, so I ended up booking the room myself. I did early check in and I put 2pm for the room to be ready and one hour later I got a text saying my room is ready. Usually, this is rare of a Boyd casino as they usually are not fast and my wife and I ended up going there early. The location is not in good location as it is pretty shady here, but I felt like nothing was going to happen to me as I ended up walking quite a bit playing Pokemon. There is a Walmart across the street from the casino and other food places. But their food choices are priced reasonable and the movies are cheap $6 for matinee and $8.25 for night time showing and a lot cheaper than throwing your money away from gambling. Arcade was decent size, but the bowling alley was pretty big. The prices were not bad either and if you go during their special I think it was $7.25 per 3 games which is really good. They really cater to the locals. I ended up eating at the Angry Butcher and Smokey Joes and enjoyed the ice cream at crazy corn. Hotel room, was really impressed with the suite. The room did come with a bedai and I ended up trying it out and water squirted every where. Room service does come daily and caught me off guard. One thing good is you get a refrigerator that is empty. The suite was big and it was very old looking, but nice enjoy to enjoy. Shower was nice as it was hot, but felt a little weird having a tub in the middle of the bedroom. I did not have time to use the tub however. The bed was comfortable and we had a nice view of the atrium. The atrium is the whole experience and why you should come here. The waterfall was very beautiful and the laser and water show is nice too nice. I saw it two times, but recommend doing it at night as you do not see the lasers at all during the day time. Gaming experience was okay here. Many volatile games and they probably get rid of a lot of old school three reel slots. Was hoping they had a lot of them, but to my surprise nope. I had beginners luck as I ended up playing turkey shoot and won $300 dollars. I played other games, but was having really bad luck here and losing quick. I ended up going to the high limit room and played Grand Dragon and I ended up getting one of the progressives, was hoping it was the major, but that was okay. I then hit the bonus and then left away with a nice profit. The machines were either a hit or miss. I did not leave here a winner, but I did gamble quite a bit here and many hours and my wife did too. The following day, I did not do so well and ended up losing quickly. I lost $500 within an hour and decided to enjoy the room a little bit more and eat ice cream. I ended up getting around 3000 tier points from this place and lost around $1500 here which was not too bad with all things considered. Overall, I would not mind staying again, but there is the Orleans which is close to the strip and might try that next time. I did not realize it is close and I ended up going there to play some games.

It creates a calm and scenic area for kids to walk around and enjoy while keeping cool from the heat outside. They also have a laser and water show that plays 3-4 times a night. The front desk is situated in the park, which made it a little hard to communicate with staff when the show is playing. We decided to stay here because the youth bowling tournament was being hosted here. I was a bit surprised and disappointed when I read online that their pool was being renovated, especially when it's during spring break, and knowing there would be many kids here for the tournament. I heard from another family that the alternative of having access to the KOA pool was available but really tiny where most adults were there to enjoy like a hot tub. They had a good variety of dining options including McDonald's, Dunkin Donuts, Panda Express, Roberto's, Smokey Joe's, Subway, and a steakhouse. For early morning tournaments, the only quick options open were Dunkin Donuts and McDonald's and the service was slow with long lines. The bowling alley didn't even open the snack bar early to accommodate the families looking to stay nearby and watch. In our downtime, there wasn't much to do on property for kids other than enjoy walking in the park, watch the evening laser show, play at the small arcade, and go to the movie theater. We stayed in a premium room and ended up right next to the laser and water show so the music was super loud. Basic amenities so no coffee or water in the rooms but they had big dressers and a mini fridge. Convenient for our tournament but if you need to take taxis to and from the airport and the Strip, it'll be about a $50 a ride.

The grand foyer is large and right as you come in the main entrance. The Cirque costume display will be ending on July 17th so I needed to get down there quickly before I missed it. Upon entering, there is a person who asks if you need directions and there's a guard at the desk. There is a metal detector to go through. The display is right there. During the year, several different art displays are there. I parked across Main Street in the City Hall garage. I used one of my parking apps to book the spot last ngiht., All I had to do was scan the QR code on my phone to get in and out. Very easy! However, if you wait and take a ticket there, the woman at the desk said they would validate it. If you want to save $10 that's the way to go. Before entering the building, I went to see the new statue dedicated to the Goodmans for the many years they both served as mayor of our city. The front is very inviting. The solar panels fit in with the glass exterior, and the panels create enough energy to light the building in the evening in various colors. A pleasant first visit to City Hall. I won't miss future exhibits there.

The Historic Downtown area has darling boutique and souvenir shops, scrumptious cafes, and coffee shops. There's a small, nicely put together town museum that tells the story of the men and women who braved the desolation of the southern Nevada desert to build Hoover Dam and settle Boulder City, too. Definitely enjoyed our visit to Boulder City and highly recommend!

The Magic Kingdom is the Happiest Place on Earth. With the happiest hiking trails, lake, and…read moredowntown in Nevada, Boulder City is the Happiest Place in Nevada. In my eyes Boulder City is the Magic Kingdom of Nevada. Where Disney Land's mascot is a mouse, Boulder City's is a big horn sheep. This review talks about the different lands that are the components of the Magic Kingdom of Nevada that is Boulder City (abbreviated BC). Main Street USA BC features a central business district that was built with the principles of town planning. It features two Main Streets: Nevada Way & Arizona Street. When the founders built the town in the 30's, it was designed so residents would not want to leave to drink & gamble. In similar fashion to good town planning, there is abundant greenery. If you picture Washington D.C.; Boulder City Square & Wilbur Square are the Mall. The Bureau of Reclamation Building, sitting on a hill would be the Capitol. There is so much to see & do. This includes Coffee Cup, Boulder Bowl, antique shops, Boulder Theater, & the Historic Boulder Dam Hotel. Events are held throughout the year. Adventure Land BC is a land of adventure. Bootleg Canyon is world known for the highly acclaimed bike trails. From high above Bootleg Canyon, a popular adventure is ziplining down Red Mountain. For the hard core adventurists, Gold Strike Canyon is a place to play Indiana Jones while you climb ropes and slide down death slides on the way to the Colorado River. My favorite adventure is to hike up Red & Black Mountain to see awesome views of Vegas, Lake Mead, & Boulder City. Lake Mead National Recreation Area offers infinite adventures. Boulder City Stone Circle offers adventures for astronomers. In 2005 Pluto was observed from this spot. And If your a golfer, the three golf courses offer adventures in golf. Frontier Land What a dam frontier BC is. In the 30's it was the hub for building Hoover Dam. With the electricity generation Hoover Dam accelerated the settlement of the southwest. The Historic Southern Nevada Railroad played a major role. Today people could ride in a Historic Nevada Railroad train on weekends in addition to experiencing the Southern Nevada Railroad Museum. Recently when the Memorial Bridge opened, it expanded the Las Vegas frontier into northern Arizona. There is discussion of major developments being built along US 93. At a higher elevation from Hoover Dam, the Frontier Land landmark would be Red & Black Mountain. Instead of a railroad, it is a hiking trail. Fantasy Land When I drive US 93 into BC, I am on the Journey to Imagination. BC is a place where fantasy comes true. It is a Fantasy Land where the dream of walking through 5 tunnels to one of the Wonders of the World comes true. It is a Fantasy Land where the pixie dust of the Hoover Dam created an inland sea known as Lake Mead. On this sea recreationists could ride in water craft or enjoy a boat tour. It is a Fantasy Land where the dream of sharing a picnic with big horn sheep comes true. And it is a fantasy land where people could share solitary moments in a valley with teddy bear cholla. At night I have lived my fantasies of walking on a dark River Mountains Loop Trail under the stars without the fear of getting jumped. It is a fantasy come true that brings me to Boulder City for night walks. Tomorrow Land BC is the city of tomorrow. It is a city designed with progressive zoning. The City Code of BC limits development to 120 single or multi-family residential permits per year. Voter approval is mandatory for the approval of city land an acre or more. It is a Tomorrow Land where power centers and sprawl are not in the horizon. BC is a Tomorrow Land that will include the Bypass of the Future I-11. It is a Tomorrow Land where people will be closer to nature than to space. At 202.7 square miles, BC has sufficient room to grow. Fast Pass to Bypass Line of Traffic In BC, people line up in cars. US 93 is known for its traffic headache. To bypass the gridlock on US 93 and Buchanan Boulevard, Lake Mead and Hoover Dam bound motorists use the fast pass to bypass a line of traffic. Here it is: At the first traffic signal on US 93 at the end of the freeway; turn right on Veterans Memorial Drive. At the traffic signal, turn left on Adams Blvd. At the 4-way stop, turn left on Buchanan Blvd. This ought to bypass the gridlock. Admission Boulder City is a public city. Admission is free. However if you drive a few miles above the speed limit, there will be a steep admission to enter the Magic Kingdom of Nevada. **Review 76 of The Daniel S. Yelp 100 Challenge.**
