They have a very well-curated museum with century homes throughout the property, including the old print shop, railway depot, a conductor's house, a church and more. Beautiful grounds. Keep your hands and feet to yourself as you walk the path. It's starts with the breath of the old west. What did a young Las Vegas and Boulder City actually look like. Most of the history here are actual. Some are replicated by certain types of groups to aid in keeping the history alive. As you move on you can actually walk through the exhibits. The history of each era is shown in houses by the "Main Street," exhibits. It's too cool ! This is the way to see a little piece of history. That old chapel was saved and has married so many individuals. Come and see our historical past in photos. The artifacts of the era are here too.

Traffic was terrible, and the parking situation felt very disorganized. It wasn't clear where people were supposed to go, and some attendees left frustrated before even getting inside. Once inside, we found the building to be extremely cold, which took away from the comfort of the experience. We also had some difficulty getting clear directions from staff regarding the exits. There are many exits throughout the venue, but some of the staff members we asked didn't seem to know where they were located. Overall, we enjoyed the show, but the traffic, parking, temperature, and lack of clear information from staff made the evening more stressful than it needed to be. Hopefully, the venue can improve these areas because the entertainment itself was well worth seeing.

We met several times over a 7 month period to prepare our wine. We'd make a party out of it each time. We each brought a bottle of wine and an appetizer to share. They have an area set up with tables for us to place it all. They provided us with wine glasses and pitchers of water. The staff is so knowledgeable about wine production and they did a great job explaining the process to us on each visit. On this particular visit, our wine was complete, so we were all part of the assembly line that got to bottle it up. We each took a case of wine home. Now I have 12 bottles of delicious wine to continue enjoying!

You just need to buy them at the depot. You actually get a paper ticket too . The train ride lasts about thirty minutes and it's takes you about three miles from the station platform to Railroad Pass Casino. Then it returns to the Platform. In between the wait for the train you can wander the platform and see all sorts of interesting trains from all around the world. This is a great way to spend an afternoon. Get out and see some amazing views of trains. Be a kid again!

The gps map took us to the trains on Yucca street and not to their new indoor building... they did send someone in a golf cart to direct us to the right location (btw it's on the main road in the same parking lot of Boulder City Collectibles and Antiques store) 2.) The museum is nice and air conditioning and the director did leave worksheets for us to use, but no pencils or crayons so we had to scrounge and share the 3 pens we had in our purses. 3.) Christopher MacMahon, Ph.D. Museum Director failed to send me this "school tour information" which would have informed me how long the walk would be from the museum to see the actual trains!!!! It was a LONG HOT WALK and NOBODY was there to show us the trains. There wasn't even AC in the trains like there used to be. 4.) He even told me over the phone prior to our visit that there was a picnic area at the museum that we could use. What he failed to inform me that it was outdoors and ALL THE WAY at the Yucca street part of the property! I asked if we could eat indoors as we were all so hot from the first walk there and back... AND we have toddlers with us! But I guess No food or drink indoors. We ended up NOT eating our lunch, and trying to eat in our cars instead. 5.) The Audio tour they give you when you're not on a live tour was terrible, you can't barely hear the guy speaking and it was chopped up into tiny sections and didn't tell you where to stand to view each exhibit. I DO NOT recommend visiting on the weekdays when there is no trains to take you back and forth from the museum to the actual trains. What a disaster it was! So while it wasn't the glamorous champagne night out we had planned, Race and Sportsbook isn't a bad place to throw back some cocktails with a friend. And heck, they even have some bubbly options.

I can't complain because I was treated to comp VIP tickets by the casino so that meant I had close up seats and free food and booze, but I'm not sure the "rack rate" ticket prices would be worth it. There are two seating areas: in fold out chairs closer to the stage and then a grassy "lawn" area in back. The actual seating area seats were expensive so most of them went empty. Next year the organizers might want to consider making the lawn area bigger and remove a lot of those empty chairs. The lineup was fun and was touted as a Salute to the 80s. John Waite, Berlin, and the Romantics all played pretty sad sets as none of them were really that good anymore. At least it was fun to sing along to their hits. The best part of the lineup was the legendary (fresh off her Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction) Joan Jett! This lady is still ROCKING, people! She came out on stage in a badass silver sequined jumpsuit and her voice sounded great. She blasted out a crazy setlist of all of her biggest hits as well as songs from her days in the Runaways. The stage was small but fine and the plastic chair reserved seating did the job. There were plenty of bars around for booze. I ordered a margarita from 3 different bars and each bar was out of some crucial ingredient. One didn't have tequila, one didn't have limes and another didn't have sour mix. Huh? What is up with that? A bar without basic ingredients for one of the world's most popular drinks? I finally gave up and just drank Diet Pepsi. The food booths had very long lines because of inefficient food prep procedures, but the food was pretty tasty considering the limited outdoor cooking areas. Food was pricey as you'd expect. The hotel kept the pool open during the concert so you could go for a swim if you wanted. You couldn't see the stage from the pool but you could hear the bands just fine (the sound system was sort of quiet which was nice, no busted eardrums here and no earplugs were necessary). I'd go to this event again, especially if it was comped!

I attended the last game of 2015, which also happened to be my first time attending a Runnin' Rebels game. The team played against Fresno State and lost 69-66. This was such a close game that had me riddled with anxiety! Nonetheless, I had a great time at the Runnin' Rebels game and witnessed firsthand the overwhelming fervor of Rebel fans. My friend scored two tickets to the game, row JJ seats 9 and 10. I think these are the best seats I'll ever have! I could see the facial expressions of the players - that's how close I was. Students get one free ticket to games with the option to purchase a second discounted ticket. The student section is first come, first serve. It's understandably packed, but definitely the most spirited section in the auditorium. I'll probably sit there at the next game. :) There's a huge turnout for games and the fans get more rowdy with alcohol. It's a good time. Dave Rice was getting an earful from screaming fans, poor guy. Hey Reb' and the girls cheer and dance teams do their best to keep the crowd spirited. Cheerleaders seemed to do a back flip each time the home team scored. Be prepared for a 10-15 wait in the jam packed parking lot upon game's end.
