Très bonne viennoiseries traditionnelles en Lyon c'est très célèbre et délicieux Je recommande

I always follow the crowd so I knew I had to try this place out when I saw the giant line. I got the small size praline brioche, which was still pretty big (lasted me 3 breakfasts). It was super rich and I liked the variation of textures. Maybe I got too excited by the line? Don't get me wrong it was yummy but I wasn't too blown away with this, maybe my expectations were too high.

We wanted to try the praline pastries in Lyon, which are a specialty from the area. This place looked like they made a ton of things with pralines and the baked goods all looked fresh. They had sandwiches and pizzas that looked tempting and fresh, but we only picked up a praline brioche to go. There are a lot of touristy stores that sell praline pastries that are marked up a ton or that make a huge praline brioche or bread that will cost you 6-10€, but this place had a brioche that was small and 2,60€ so it allowed us to try just a little bit. The praline brioche was fresh and the texture was nice - if it had been just the brioche by itself I think I may have enjoyed it more. The pralines were too sweet for my taste (and I like sweet things). Even though the praline brioche wasn't quite my jam, I would still come back here and try other things. It all looked fresh and they had a good selection. This is a great spot to try if you're looking for praline pastries since they seemed to have the best selection in town, all at reasonable prices.

The famous praline brioche of Lyon is found everywhere in the city. (At the Les Halles Paul Bocuse , I saw some loaves at 10 Euro per one!) It's a sweet brioche dough adorned with pink colored pralines. I tried one from the newer bakery, Francis Pralus and one at the Boulangerie du Palais, and the one here was much more to my liking. (And this place is a very old and famous one in the middle of the very touristic area.) It's a small store with mainly praline related items and some viennoisseries and sandwiches. I liked the brioche here better because the praline was more crispy. Also the way it was incorporated into the brioche was better (more on top and outside of the bread, so to say) as well as the sweetness and taste of the dough. (* The other one was very "doughy," as if not baked through, and the small pieces of pralines were more within the dough.) It was also only 2.6 Euros, and not too big. I also tried another item with praline - it looked like a big biscotti, which was good but the brioche is the real deal! A fun place to get something very unique to Lyon in the middle of your walk through the "Vieux Lyon." :)

Walked in the tour the bakery and the workers were very rude. Decided not to buy. Most in Lyon have been very nice.

Love this little spot! Great quick sweets and wonderful slices of bakery pizza. It smells like heaven as you walk bye, like most bakeries in Lyon! Loves this place! I will be visiting again! It's in a wonderful little pocket of town.

Items Selected: Praline Brioche Butter Croissant Almond Croissant Chocolate Snail Nutella Turnover Surprisingly unmapped by food writers or online search engines, day two in Lyon began a rather substantial exploration of the city's boulangeries as well as patisseries, and always willing to arrive early in order to experience items hot from the ovens it was after a nearly 12 mile run that I approached Boulangerie du Palais to find the doors just opening, a few folks already lined up and waiting to gather their baked goods en route to the week's first day of work. Potentially the most 'famous' bakery in the city, at least in part as a result of its location just steps away from much of the main tourist corridor, Boulangerie du Palais features both tartes and viennoiserie focused on Vieux Lyon's famous pralines de noix, yet attempting to sample a rather wide swath of what the small space had to offer only one of the rosy tinged items was selected, the rest of a five part order featuring more traditional pastries to the tune of just 7.70€ from a young woman whose English was just good enough to compliment my rudimentary grasp of conversational French. Entirely devoid of indoor space for indulgence, and not yet set up for al fresco seating that a later pass would show to be quite popular for sandwiches and pizzas sold during lunch, it was with warm bags in hand that I proceeded to the banks of the nearby Saone to partake in breakfast and beginning first with a simple butter croissant the wispy center proved a pleasant contrast to the lightly bronzed shell, yet when compared to the double baked almond iteration the flavors simply fell flat as the latter was not only untainted by frangipane, but also far more crisp on the exterior with an even better arc to the supple caverns within. Progressing onward to richer items, a first experience with the candied pink confection found at almost every eatery within the city limits was offered in the form of an eggy roll densely packed with the sugar-coated nuts, and although admittedly quite sweet both the texture and the flavor were well matched to the soft bread, a similar complement applicable to both the exceedingly messy pocket of molten Nutella dotted with bits of chopped hazelnuts and a springy curl of golden pastry chockablock full of dark chocolate chips.

The bakery is close to this famous and iconic Lyon church.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. This is why french bakeries are the best in the world. I could eat here every day. We had the grilled vegetable sandwich (eggplant, onion, zucchini, tomato, olive, arugulua, feta). Large square bread. It was large enough to share. Sooo good. Everything was top quality. Fresh. Flavorful. Healthy. Delicious. We also had the almond croissant and lemon pastry. Both were killer. We also enjoyed the lady running the shop. Very kind. She happily cut our sandwich in half and wrapped them up separately. Additonal plus of this spot is that it's in old lyon (vieux lyon). So you can grab lunch or a pastry...or both...and then walk around the old village. Very cute area. And you can also walk up the hill to the Notre Dame Basilica. Then you can work off your food! Note: strangely closed on Tue and Wed. France keeps surprising is with all of their weird hours. There's no consistency. So don't wait until it's too late to visit this quaint authentic boulangerie.

We saw a long queue outside, so we were curious. It seems it was the Brioche aux pralines that attracted all the people. So we bought one, and tried, and it was good. The brioche itself was better than the pralines. We haven't tried the other things, so I can't tell about the overall quality. Just try yourself :)

Great place to grab breakfast and/or lunch. Definitely try their sandwiches, which are simple, but with quality ingredients & bread.

This the best bakery that I have ever been to, and I will die on this hill…read more I was wandering Lyon after seeing the Murs des Canuts mural, when I smelled the absolute most delicious bread wafting from a side street. I wasn't even hungry at the time, but without a second thought, I went inside the bakery and ordered a chocolate-and-almond croissant. This pastry is easily the best thing that I'd eaten on my month-long trip in Europe, and likely all the times that I'd been to Europe. It came in the shape of a traditional pain au chocolate, but the the top had shards of roasted almonds while the inside was filled both almond paste and dark chocolate strips. It was so good that I almost, almost ordered a second one until I decided to think of my health and ordered a standard croissant instead. The croissant was also fantastic, just not as amazing as the chocolate-almond croissant. I almost didn't know what this bakery was called, since it only had a 'P' logo in front of its door, but thankfully Google Maps helped me find it. It's a very small bakery that already had a small line forming out the door after I finished my croissant. Cash only! Also, it's cash-only! I believe I spent less than 4 euros on the two pastries.

One of best croissants I've ever had - so light and layered and crispy. Pain au chocolat also very good. A thin apple tart was crispy on the bottom and layered with super thin slivers of apples- wonderful. The almond croissant was good not great- a bit too sweet somehow. As this is our first morning in Lyon we will certainly be back for the rest of the week to try more and more especially since it is fortunately just around the corner. Very helpful and friendly man spoke good English and humored my French in a nice way.

It is simply a boulangerie, not a boulangerie-patisserie combo (no éclairs here!) The line is out the door for sandwiches at lunch, and they run out of croissants on Sunday morning, so go early. Then when you get there, order croissants, pain au chocolat, and pain aux raisins, plus bread with olives or cheese for later. Oh, and don't forget a baguette, the bread and butter of French boulangeries (too much?) If you're extra hungry, go for one of the grande baguettes - it's fatter and won't disappear quite as fast. The boulanger is a charming fellow who speaks English. If he can, he'll give you the freshest croissants just out of the oven instead of the ones on display. My evening baguettes and bad-day-cheer-me-up pain aux raisins and it's-Tuesday pain aux olives are what I miss most since moving out of Croix Rousse. Yes, we have other boulangeries at the bottom of les pentes, but it's not the same! O Fournil des Artistes, I miss you! En gros: si vous aimez le bon pain et les bonnes viennoiseries, vous ne serez pas deçu. Meilleure boulangerie de la Croix Rousse!

She just turned 12 last week and so with so much joy and excitement, they went to the cafe. She explained about the cheesecake, different types of milk, etc. We have lived in France for almost 7 years and are TIRED of awful service. We had several approach our table, but one, Charlene was very territorial. She chased off other cats and other humans. The place was also very well decorated, with cat trees and boxes, and various places for them to curl up in and allow you to approach them to pet them. The rules are, cats can come to you but you're not allowed to pick them up. It really wasn't a problem, as noted. The cats definitely approached us, Sat at our table, stole our chairs when we would get up, and we had plenty of opportunity to pet, and love on various ones. They also have very cute souvenirs of the cats. Everybody was very kind and welcoming.
