She worked with fabulous designers such as Gianni Versace, Emmanuel Ungaro, and Escada. But, as all Jersey girls do, she returned to her roots. Two weeks ago I had my bridal shower, and received a GIFT from Shore Chic. I went to exchange the GIFT to the store this past weekend, and was told they do not accept returns unless a receipt is given. However, because this was a gift given to me, I do not have the receipt. The women behind the counter was very unfriendly in her tone, and did not want to provide ANY help or customer service to help me exchange the gift for something else in the store. She acknowledged that she remembered it being purchased but did not want to take the item back, knowing I was going to EXCHANGE it for a more expensive item in the store. She brought up in discussion another customer trying to return items that were months old, however I am not that customer, and you need to handle each case individually. Trying to exchange a GIFT less that 2 weeks after it was purchased should not be looked down upon. I will be sure to tell all my local friends to be very wary of making any purchases from Shore Chic, as their customer service is anything but exemplary.

It's downtown casual clothes made to be mixed and matched for the minimalist. Madewell also mainly focuses on women. Their parent company is J. Crew.  They are currently running their end of season sales with an added 40% during the second week of January.  I walked in for the first time and felt I have found my new store. They carry everything from jeans, sweaters, hats, gloves, jewelry, handbags, pants, sunglasses, and some chic knick knacks for the home.  The only sad thing about this place is, as per the salesclerk, they only carry petite sizes online and it's only for jeans as they were originally famous for their denim clothing. Hence, the minus a star. The good news is they do carry a few sweaters in sized XXS. Not many but there are some. What I love most is not only are the extremely helpful sales people but their clothes which speaks for themselves. They are well made with clean structured lines. I found many of their styles of clothes to be classics and to be treasure for years to come.  Do I recommend this store? Oh Yes! I would advise you to go now and not miss out on the sales because let's be honest, who doesn't love a sale?
