I had tried multiple hair dressers for years and was never fully happy with my hair. Could never really get the look I wanted, and then I went to Erin and have never gone anywhere since! I have very long hair with a weird mix of wave and straight that has significantly more volume than that particular hair type should ever achieve and she's always worked wonders. Not only is she super helpful in suggesting styles, she has also taught me different tricks for styling, curling, braiding, and otherwise coercing my hair into cool styles I'd have never figured out on my own. She ALSO does free bang trims and at my request taught ME how to maintain them myself! I really struggled to trust previous places and would often have to come in with an ALBUM of pictures of what I wanted, but Erin has been so amazing I've stopped bringing in pictures entirely and usually just give her a few guidelines (ie want to keep the bangs, need to be able to get it in a ponytail, don't wanna have to use any curling irons or hairdryers, ect) and just let her do whatever she thinks would look best. I have never regretted it (though once or twice I needed to wash it first to see how nicely it hangs!). Just how much do I trust her? I went SHORT for the first time ever and donated my hair, and told her whatever she things would look best. Turned out great, AND they even kept the hair I donated to send to Wigs for Tots which was a new organization that I'd not heard of but after a little research was super pleased to have been able to support. I never felt truly comfortable in a salon until I went to Bouffant Daddy, and now I won't go anywhere else. A friend recommended Erin, and I have since recommeneded her to several more people. Now I can't even count how many people I know who see her and are overjoyed with how thier hair turns out. Prior to *my discovery of Erin at Bouffant Daddy, I was really struggling to find a great stylist and salon in St. Louis! As a girl with thick, psuedo-curly hair, I felt like I was doomed to have dull, wavy, St. Louis-humidity-infused hair forever. Fortunately, fate intervened when I sold my bike on Craigslist and Erin bought it! Ever since then (roughly 2+ years ago), I've been going to Erin and could not be happier. She's done the impossible and made my "blah" hair wonderfully curly and cute. She's coached me through a difficult grow-out period and has helped me find my perfect hair color. I'm also really impressed with Erin's knowledge of the science behind hair care and styling. I was referred to Bouffant Daddy a year ago from a good looking gal with curly hair that I met at the nail salon. I have always battled with my curly hair and tortured it with a straighter for years because I hated it so much. Then I met Jeff. Who changed my life. When I walked into the salon my hair was its usual Frizball with dead ends and awful roots. Jeff (politely) told me I needed to take off about 6 inches, which I was not anticipating. I hesitantly agreed and he promised it would be the best haircut I have ever had. Boy, was he right. Jeff walked me through how to wash my hair and rinse it to leave conditioner in it so my curls wouldn't frizz in humidity. He introduced me to a bomb product called "Mop Top" and showed me how to both dry and style my hair so I could get the curls I so desperately desired. When Jeff turned my chair around in the mirror I couldn't believe my reflection. I looked like a different person, with some magazine lady hair. To this day, I can walk around in public and people will go out of their way to compliment me on my curls. I absolutely LOVE Bouffant Daddy! The atmosphere and employees are wonderful! Especially Erin. She's been doing my hair for maybe two years now and I've never met a stylist so honest and caring about their clients. She gives me new techniques to use constantly and suggest low maintenance cuts. When I first started seeing her she got to know me before ever touching my hair. She asked me questions about my daily routine as well as my hobbies and such to get a feel for my personality. Now that she knows me and I know her, I'll walk in and let her do WHATEVER she wants with my hair. She has my complete trust. My bridesmaids and I went to Bouffant Daddy the morning of my wedding Erin and her apprentice made us all BEAUTIFUL!!! If you have curly hair and you don't have Erin do your wedding hair you are MISSING OUT!!! I had been going to my old stylist for over 8 years. We were friends and had a falling out. But enough of old stuff! I needed a color and cut bad! I have curly hair and I like to wear it strait and curly, depending on my mood and weather. I had been asking around to my neighbors and co workers. But I had someone who swore by Erin. I was terrified when I walked in there for the first time. but Erin calmed my nerves and she was so great. She understood that I needed a hair cut that would look good strait or curly. And she gave me just that! Then the next time we had done something my old stylist would never do for me. I have lived in St. Louis for quite some time and have looked high and low for someone who could help me grow my hair out in a cute and easy to manage way without breaking the bank! I could not believe my eyes when I read review from 2/16. I have been a client of Erin's for a few years now; and the words "unsure" and "lack of attention" are completely ridiculous! I personally have referred 21 people to her. Yes, I just typed TWENTY-ONE (All but 2 referrals have remained clients, not due to unhappiness, but because of financial hardships)! It only seems like it's "a first time experience" because Erin actually has customer service skills. Erin does speak with each client before she begins and only then does she work her magic. I hope new clients read the outpouring from Erin's customers in response to the less than observant reviewer's comments to see just how appreciative we are of her talent. I've been going to see Erin at Bouffant Daddy for years. She was recommended to me by another curly, haired girl. Erin and I clicked at my first appointment. She spent a good amount of time with me (as she does with every appt) discussing my curls and teaching me techniques that no other stylist has ever bothered to do before. My cuts have always been superb, my hair silky and frizz-free whether she straightens or lets the curls go. She is so good that my curly, haired teenage daughter now goes to her and loves her. I do not agree with Liz G..'s review at all. I have always found it easy to talk to Erin as does my 8yr old daughter. If you can hold a conversation with an 8yr old very shy girl, you are doing great! I have never left there without feeling fabulous. Erin has always asked about what I want and made suggestions on new styles. She has swayed me away from haircuts that would not work with my hair. She has given me advice on my used to be slightly frizzy, slightly curly hair so that I know how to blow dry it now and what products to use. And the staff at Bouffant Daddy has always been friendly and courteous. Again I have never left there not feeling less than fabulous as has my 8yr old daughter. St. Louis is my hometown, I have lived there for over 12 years but now I am away at college. When visiting St. Louis early this October, I decided it was time for a haircut because I was shagging out after letting it grow for a few months. My problem is that a new haircut always seems like I'm gambling with my looks. Andrea at Bouffant Daddy put those fears to rest and I left looking and feeling great! The location is fun and laid back. A variety of interesting decor adorn the studio. As mentioned before, they seem to have fun but at the same time deliver an expert, professional service.
