Casino Shop/Supermarche is a French national chain of grocery stores similar to Albert Heijn in the Netherlands and Walmart/Meijer/Kroger in the United States. Just like a Walmart, they have different brands for their subsidiaries with Casino Shop equivalent to a regular-sized Walmart and a Casino Supermarche analogous to a Walmart Supercenter in addition to a few other brands. This was a smaller branch and we ended up getting a 1L bottle of water for 38 cents (in Euro) . Groceries in general seem to be very cheap and water is dirt cheap. Trying buying bottled water in a restaurant and you'll get fleeced. Might as well get their cafe, soft drinks, or specialty drinks like cocktails cause they'll probably be the same price. If you're not a local and living in France temporarily or on vacation for an extended period, get used to seeing these and shopping there. They're basically everywhere!!
