The booking process was easy, and I was able to instantly reserve the time & date I wanted online. Checking in was also a breeze, as the boat is conveniently docked outside a hotel that provided valet parking. The boat itself is very clean and had plenty of seating space (both inside & outside) as well as room in the front netting to enjoy ocean views from both side. We brought our own food and drinks to enjoy. We had Captain Ron throughout our excursion who is simply the BEST. You can tell that he has a ton of experience, and even brought us to see pods of dolphins swimming! He expertly navigated us so close to the dolphins, and this experience was the highlight of our weekend.

Do book it around sunset, that's definitely the most aesthetic. We managed to book at the exact time to get all three views, daytime, sunset, and night. Daytime you get deep blues. Sunset you get baby blue with cooper pink. And sunset you get the lights from the swans. I think sunset is the worst view. My biggest gripe with this experience wasn't about the experience itself, just the customers who stay well beyond their booking period. You won't get the full sunset view just because things block the way. Keep that in mind.

This is the perfect spot to take your love ones, a very unique experience overall. Romantic? YES Leg workout? YES Fun? YES My wife and I enjoyed a nice evening here riding around the lake. It's certainly a leg workout though as you're paddling with your legs. It can get pretty chilly so plan for that. Night rides are available for the same price ($13 per adult, cheaper for kids) but there's timestamps for them. Usually around 6:30 - 7:00 PM is the time for it. Checking in with staff is pretty easy, right outside of the boat ramp, water life vest are provided, kid sizes included with your ticket. You get an hour to ride around but honestly, if you pace it right, you'll either get tired of paddling or just let the boat sit idle and enjoy the wind, fresh air, and date vibes. Swan boats is a must visit spot and one of the spots that's not very expensive and is a great spot for conversation and even a workout!

My husband and I lost our home in the Altadena Fire a little over a year and a half ago. Even with…read moreeverything we were going through, we still chose to get married on July 26, 2025. Between rebuilding our lives and our home, we simply didn't have the time or money for a honeymoon. When I saw the gondola ride advertised, I thought it would be the perfect way to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. We made the drive from Rancho Cucamonga, and traffic was horrible. By the time we arrived, we were stressed and running late. From the moment we walked in, the young lady at the front desk (she had blonde hair, and I'm so sorry I forgot your name! ‍) greeted us with the warmest smile. She immediately told me to relax and assured me everything was going to be okay. Then I realized my phone was on only 5%, and I asked if they happened to have a charger. Without hesitation, she handed me a portable charger so I could capture the memories from our very first gondola ride. Our gondolier, Waylon (I hope I'm spelling your name correctly! ), was absolutely amazing. He was kind, professional, and so knowledgeable about the history of the area. He made the experience even more special. At the end of our ride, the sweet young lady surprised me with a beautiful rose. Such a simple gesture meant so much. After the incredibly difficult year and a half we've had, this team completely turned our stressful day around and gave us a first wedding anniversary we'll never forget. Thank you for your kindness, your hospitality, and for reminding us that even the smallest acts of compassion can make the biggest difference.

AVOID THIS PLACE. Worst boat rental experience I've ever had…read more The manager was rude and condescending from the moment we arrived. Someone in our group had already started the check-in process about 15 minutes before the rest of us arrived, yet we still stood around for another 20 minutes while he repeatedly ignored us. When he finally dealt with us, he spoke to us like we were children rather than paying customers. After we finished checking in, we waited roughly another 20 minutes with no boat. I finally went over and politely asked where our boat was, and instead of simply giving me an update, he started yelling at me and told me we were "lucky" we were even still getting a boat. He literally laughed in my face and was incredibly condescending. And somehow, that wasn't even the worst part. We finally got on the water and the boat failed while we were out there. We were stranded and someone had to come retrieve us from the middle of the water. They put us on a second boat, and that boat wouldn't start either. The manager immediately claimed it was "user error" and came over to show us what we were supposedly doing wrong. Except when HE tried it, he couldn't get the boat started either. Instead of acknowledging that there was clearly a problem with the boat, he then blamed us for "overheating" it. At that point they were going to put us on a THIRD boat, but we were completely over it. Between the excessive waiting, being yelled at and laughed at, getting stranded on the water, and then having a second boat fail, we just wanted to leave. What also bothered me was watching how he spoke to his own employees. Even his employees apologized to us on his behalf, which honestly said a lot. I understand that mechanical problems can happen. What made this experience unacceptable was the combination of two boats having problems and a manager who responded to legitimate concerns with yelling, blame, ridicule, and condescension instead of basic customer service. I wish I had read the other reviews before coming here because, based on my experience, many of them describe remarkably similar issues. I would never rent from this business again.
