It was on a dark lit Friday night driving through a part of this country for the first time just…read morerolling down the road ignoring my waze app and letting the universe guide me. I saw a sign. It wasn't a shooting star Or blinking lights in a strange formation. It was an actual sign that said "liquor store right before the casino"... so I followed it. There were a couple of cars in the lot. The faint hint of patchouli or a young aged weed in the air. It's not a large store. Through the glass doors just a few rows of well stocked shelves. Booze in the aisles and refrigerated beers along the back wall. The counter dude with a friendly look and hello sizing you up. It's a small town and new faces stick out. I guess I passed as he rung me up with a little friendly banter. Cash and change were exchanged. I had my friend for the night tucked under my arm and we were off to see what was off in the darkness.
