She coached me on how I could adjust thought patterns, encouraged me to consider other ways to view or approach situations by asking questions, and introduced me to various calming techniques. She also helped me to find a low-dose anxiety medication that works well for me, even though I was initially apprehensive about trying it. My wife and I first brought our adolescent daughter in to see her and she was able to immediately develop a good relationship with her. She worked with our daughter and within a couple of weeks, of only meeting with her 3 times!, our daughter was like a changed person. Our daughter started talking to us, she quit cutting and even her school work started to improve. Janice met with my wife, my daughter and I and explained what she and my daughter had been working on (my daughter who is 13 gave her permission) and what their goals were. Then she set up an appointment with my wife and then me and then eventually our whole family started to meet. She kept seeing our daughter individually but I tell you that her working with our whole family was amazing!! We are now closer than we have ever been, we even went on a family vacation last summer in the car and the 5 of us, my daughter and her two younger brothers, we all had fun!!!
