TA's is a decent small-town restaurant. If you want to try something with a little more character…read morethan you can get at your typical chain restaurant TA's is a good choice. I ordered the Shrimp Pad Thai and it was delicious. It has just the right amount of spice and sass that made it a wonderful meal. I would definitely order it again. The restaurant interior was decent and reasonably clean, but it's not going to leave you quivering in awe. The staff, on the other hand, were very friendly and cheerfully accommodating (I'm not gonna lie, I'm one of THOSE people who tend to be very specific with their ordering instructions and I've earned my fair share of eyerolls). Whenever I visit Slave Lake TA's is one of my regular stops.

My wife and I stopped by yesterday to grab a bite to eat late in the day after a real long day, at A&W on Main, and my wife says, "hey you should try the new vegetable burger". Now, I am a definite meat-a-saurus, and so rolling my eyes at her and groaning "yeeeaah right!" I had to agree since recommended highly I could stand to at least "try" something a bit healthier. Now to look at me you would KNOW I'm an authority on food, yeah, I'm a big guy, a foodie, cook amazing food people eat and say, "you should open your own restaurant" to, and I am going to tell you something... The new veggie burger, just blew my mind, and my tastebuds. Wow. I had to concede, that is the undisputed, BEST hamburger I have EVER eaten!! Bar none! Man, I hope you keep it around A&W!

A friend shared an experience on Facebook that reached hundreds of people, myself included. As I…read morecome from the indigenous community myself I have to say it is absolutely disgusting to allow racism to take place in an establishment. Especially seeing as we're First Nations people and we face discrimination everyday. These two young people were doing a workshop for indigenous youth nearby and wanted a bite to eat.. they were sat next to an intoxicated patron who kept bumping his gf's chair, he apologized but then kept staring at them as they received their food. My friend asked him politely to stop staring at them, and the man challenged my friend to which he said no, they just wanted to leave. The server told the man to calm down and he told the server, "You know better than to serve those Indians". My friend and his gf left but the intoxicated patron was allowed to stay, and was continued service. I'm sorry but even if you allow racism in your establishment it must mean you are too. Just wanted to share in case any native Americans were planning on eating here! Don't go!
