When it does connect, the speeds suggest they're routing traffic through a carrier pigeon. You market yourselves as a place where professionals can work between sets. The only work I'm getting done is a cardio workout from walking around trying to find a signal. Over $200/month and I can't load an email. Planet Fitness has better WiFi. Planet Fitness. The bar has plenty of wood panels and antique prints. But don't be fooled -- the members are not stuffy at all. This is a group of fun, easy-going, and welcoming people. Sunday's at the BSC Boylston are a real adventure…read more Cleansing wipes are constantly empty, and the staff allege to not have a back-up supply. I don't believe them. How could that be, a component so integral to infection control, and no back-up supply. What a way to nurture non-compliance with the users of equipment that should be wiped down, following each use, to have no sanitizing wipes. This is not BSC's first trip to this rodeo. They are regular guests at this rodeo. Again, on Sunday's, no paper towel in the Men's Room. How could that be? An Absentee Landlord? Inadequate staffing on Sunday's? Poor supervision/management? Irresponsible employees? And, as is consistently the case, the large lockers in the Men's Room are paralyzed by parasites who take those lockers over, for days and weeks at a time. I don't know what it is with gyms in the Back Bay, but, Planet Fitness, on Newbury Street, and sometimes New York Sports Club on Boylston Street, have air that does not circulate. Given the essence of body odor that comes with physical exertion, and working out, the air in these places should constantly be circulating. That's not always the case. The Boylston Street BSC has a beautiful, well maintained indoor pool. You have to reserve lane times, and the pool is closed to an outside contract, young children's swim camp, at certain hours of the day.

The gym also offers great amenities, including a squash court, basketball court, women's-only space, and a sauna downstairs. Overall, it's a solid place to get a membership.

I was very specific about the techniques and cut I wanted and was assured they could handle it. When I arrived, I was told my appointment had been switched to a "more experienced" stylist. Her previous client was unhappy with her color, so instead of focusing on my appointment, the stylist kept going back and forth, working on that client's color while also cutting my hair. She completely ignored me, barely consulted with me, and kept insisting the haircut I wanted "wasn't that hard," as if I was making a big deal over nothing. The result was a terrible haircut that was not what I asked for at all. At first I thought I might be overreacting and tried to give it time, but months later my hair is still completely messed up and uneven from that cut. Poor Experience - Unacceptable Customer Service…read more The massage itself was good, but everything that followed completely overshadowed the experience. After my service, I paid with a $150 gift card at the front desk. The employee, Jane, ran the gift card multiple times and even said "third time's a charm," then told me I was all set to go. Based on that, I left. Shortly after, I received a call saying there was supposedly only $10 on the gift card. I explained that the card was for $150 and that I had been told I was all set after it was rung in multiple times. I answered the call and also called back to try to resolve the issue responsibly. The general manager, Samantha Goy, called me. Unfortunately, the conversation was extremely unprofessional. She was rude, aggressive, and would not allow me to speak. When I reminded her that I was the customer and was trying to explain what happened, she responded, "That's not how this works." Despite explaining that:    *   I was told I was all set and cleared to leave    *   I did not knowingly leave without paying    *   I had already contacted corporate by phone and email with no response Samantha Goy accused me of nonpayment, claimed I left without paying, and threatened to file a theft charge with the police if I did not immediately pay--while they still have possession of my $150 gift card. I repeatedly stated that I would never intentionally leave without paying and that I was actively trying to resolve the situation through corporate channels before settling any remaining balance. None of this was acknowledged. When I asked to speak with her manager, Sean, I was told he would not speak to me. This interaction was demeaning, hostile, and completely unnecessary. A simple billing issue caused by staff error should never escalate into accusations and threats. I am beyond upset by how this was handled and expected far better professionalism from a business of this caliber. So disappointing.
