So naturally when I had to chose where to have my one and only daughter go for a fancy hair coloring that I knew nothing about but was apparently all the rage 2 yrs ago, I said "well you have to go to Butch/Butch's place, he's always totally immersed with whatever is the hottest trend and he has really high standards." She/we were NOT disappointed. She was thrilled with her balayage a couple years ago and again tonight. Tonight she selected Matt to do the balayage and Matt is equally talented with regard to coloring guys h. Will definitely be back and recommending to others!

I visited twice to obtain a balayage hairstyle. I have naturally dark and curly hair. My biggest…read moremistake was wanting to dye my deep colored hair. I truly regret it. At first the bleach turned my hair to a brassy color. I went in for a second time, about a week later. I wanted it a bit lighter. The balayage was now blonde with my dark hair still there. I liked it for about a month and a half. The blonde turned to a brassy color about 2-3 weeks after the second bleaching and toning. Maybe this just wasn't for my hair type. Lauren did my hair and maybe she just isn't used to curly hair but the balayage looked more ombre. She didn't converse much in our conversation. She was overall not bad..But I'll be going to another salon so I can go back to my natural color. I paid roughly $210-$230 (tip included) for each session totaling somewhere around $420-$460 for the entire hair. I still had to pay the packaged deal: Somewhere around $177 the second time even though I didn't get a haircut. Overall, the atmosphere is nice. I can't remember the one stylist/barbers name but he was a tall guy I think he was bald. He seemed very nice and caring about his clients. Also, Mat Ocasio is incredibly INCREDIBLY talented at what he does. He is a true miracle worker. I watched him transform his ones clients hair BEAUTIFULLY. He is very detailed and on point. I highly recommend him. A true and genuine artist.

When I lived in…read morePhiladelphia I patronized exclusive salons; I have also had cuts from Vidal Sassoon in NYC so I am quite familiar with good cuts. Returning to the area I was in search of a salon. I saw a girl with a haircut I loved and asked who did it. Rochelle, owner of Classic Cuts, has been cutting my hair ever since. That was 44 years ago! She always asks and LISTENS to my thoughts for the next cut and I come away with a great cut a little different from the last one - not the same "cookie cutter" style which, after 44 years is why I love her. Women often stop me in the street to compliment my hair and ask where I get it cut. After reading that 1st 1 star review I had to set the record straight!!!

I remember one day i when to the Barnes&noble nearby and afterwards decided to go checkout the salon cause it was the closer one to the dorm. When I walked in the two women were not paying attention just talking to one another in the salon chairs. I approach the counter and greeted with a hello, then they just came up to me with a response of "What do want?" with a tone that just felt as if i did not belong. Not even a smile or a smirk at least given. I proceeded to my question which was "would it be possible to have some highlights in my hair?" One of the woman responded with "No, it is impossible. You have black hair and it thicker than most people. We can try but you'll get orange hair and we won't be responsible if your hair falls out." To which i respond (in a polite tone), "Alright, glad to know. Thank you very much." As I was about to leave, they just said "yeah," as if they were reluctant to even accept my thanks. I don't want to play the race card but I am Asian and there aren't many Asians in that area so they didn't felt the need to provide service to an outsider such as myself. A week later, i was able to order a hair dye online from a hairstyle website, and was able to get the highlights i wanted in one shot, which I was nervous because i had never done it before, but turned out great. If those women went to school for their position and weren't able to achieve a simple task that I was able to perform without the educated needed for the procedure, then I'm sure their operation of business wouldn't last long. If I could I would give them 0 stars, but 1 star is the lowest I can give

I've had my own hair cut by him, but most memorable for me was the time my mother went to him for a haircut: Right after her appointment, she showed up on my doorstep excited to show off her new look. She was absolutely thrilled by how much better she looked than before. And she truly did look worlds better. Rich was able to look at her and say, "These pieces here aren't doing anything for you," and cut her hair in a way that was very flattering to her features. Rich has an artistry that many hairstylists lack, and I suspect is impossible to teach. Either you've got it, or you don't. However, you have to pay for high quality; he's not cheap for this area. Last time I checked he was at about $40 for a cut.
