This was a...err...compliment to the mall it is attached to. The Clearview Mall in Butler is slowly dying a death that has plagued a lot of malls. It has kind of made it's way over to this Boscov's location. Do I think Boscov's will close it's doors? No. Just look at their location in Frederick, MD. Do they need to improve this place? YES! This location is much like most of their locations, two-leveled and departments spread throughout, with their bargain auditorium as and added plus. That's why we came here. I always get a gag gift for whomever gets a gift from me. Boscov's auditorium is usually the best place to find off the wall items to throw in for a gag gift. Prices are usually lower than ticketed and sometimes, can be used practically. I went up and down each aisle in there and grabbed an arm full of items that ended up being less than $30 total. This is where the highlights end. The auditorium was located upstairs. Escalators going up were in fine working order. However, when we went to leave, the escalators going down were closed off for repairs. Next logical place to go would be to the elevator. Make our way to the elevator only to find that it just decided to quit working. A lady had gotten into it and hit the button for it to move only for it to not close its doors and not move. It kind of felt like we were trapped here. But there was a sign that pointed you towards the customer service area stating "Stairs". We get there and start following the signs. The signs lead you to a door that says "Emergency Exit: Alarm will sound." Thinking that this was in the Customer Service area and there being a counter here you would have someone direct you what to do. However, no one was manning the counter and there we were, a group of people, confused with what we were to do next. I decided that I would take the chance at pushing the door open. Glad I did, or we would have been standing there in our confusion for a while. When I opened the door there was another sign pointing down indicating that we were to go this way. This led us to the back of the store, kind of where the staff breakroom was and where they housed the backstock. We get to the bottom and start following the signs to indicate where we would get back to the sales floor. Only to be met with a door like upstairs. We weren't sure if this would take us out to the salesfloor or outside. Pushed it open and we were back on the salesfloor. You know what would have solved this problem easier and not caused confusion. Turn the power off to the up escalator and allow people to use them as...wait for it...stairs. It was a total inconvenience to all customers to be led on a wild goose chase with no guide. Plus I'm pretty sure this could be considered a hassle, especially to someone that might not be capable of using the stairs. Hopefully it is fixed by now, but who knows. If you find yourself in this situation, and this is probably the only time you can do this, ignore the warning signs. read more

My experience today and last week at this Boscov's location is that it is well stocked and busy. Prices are deeply discounted there plus they have an assortment of merchandise from designer brands to off label items. As a member of a nonprofit organization, I volunteered to offer Boscov Friends Helping Friends shopping passes at this store in return for the customer's $5 donation to the nonprofit. I talked to many customers; people told me they drive a long distance to shop at this location; for example, shoppers were there from Clarion, PA and other locations along Rt 80. I ended up getting a Boscov's credit card and shopping there several times earlier this year because I was so impressed with the variety of merchandise and the low prices. read more

Boscov's is a regional department store that sells clothing, shoes, accessories, beauty products, jewelry, and household products. I live in Allegheny County, which does not have a Boscov's, so this store in Butler is one of the closest for me. The clothing sections for juniors and women were very large, the racks were full of clothes in different sizes, and the prices were low. I picked out two quality shirts for $5 each. When I went to check out, the cashier went somewhere and did not return after several minutes. As a result, I walked over to a different cash register that had a cashier. That line had two customers ahead of me, and the cashier was nice. Overall, Boscov's sells good products, but I have always wanted more cash registers to be open and for cashiers to work more quickly. read more

This store is my go to when I make a trip to the clear view mall to meet up with friends. I bought a lot of cheap and cute outfits here! I like that they have a candy counter (even though it's closed thanks to Covid). I hope they open it back up soon! They have a great selection of furniture as well! The toys seem to be a bit expensive & there wasn't a lot on the shelf when I was there last month. I believe that has to do with the covid. read more

This is a great old school department store that has furniture, men's clothes and small appliances that are a step up from Walmart at still decent prices. Nice luggage selection also. It's too bad they no longer have a Thomas the Train toy section or a sporting goods department ( though they did at one time I think). The candy department is also a nice throwback. Being able to play the lottery and the gift wrapping is a plus for a lot of people. Boscov's and Rural King are the only reasons left to go to Clearview Mall. read more

My clothes became Swiss cheese, my trousers were tail-happy, my antiperspirant turned into chalk and my toes were able to catch butterflies. I could not tolerate such destructive qualities like these for much longer. I spent many hours driving about in my area for an establishment to accommodate my needs at a reasonable cost. The death of 25+ stores in the Clearview Mall left me guessing, but this two-level department store, Boscov's, became my establishment of choice for dressing myself. The store is plentiful in v-neck shirts and Garcia ties. A single visit was the genesis of my long-term commitment to this infomercial product-heavy department store. read more

This store carries sizes and brands for everyone. Always find what I am looking for and more when I shop here. The prices are good also. Just wish their cosmetic department was more expansive. Will continue to shop this store read more

For years, I have intermittently shopped at Boscov's. There are times when you may be looking for something other than what Kole's in our area may offer. Since we have NO major dept. stores within the immediate area, I do occasiionally shop at Boscov's During the pandemic I realized that they could not allow people into the changing rooms. That was understood. Prior to that, trying on clothing was fine and if you had to return an item WITH the receipt, Customer service members were very responsive. Three days ago, I purchased some blouses for myself and a pair of Capris for my mother. Keep in mind that was THREE days ago. I had to return the capris as they had some type of chemical or sizing in them that made my Mom break out in a rash. The Sales Clerk COMPLAINED to me that the TAG was NOT ON the ITEM. That is a new one to me. If the TAG is NOT on the item and you do have the RECEIPT as well as the TAGS with you and hand them to the clerk and it has ONLY been THREE days since PURCHASE, They were not going to give me my money back for the item. That is a new one on me. They never told me before hand that EVEN though I HAD the RECEIPT as well as the TWO ACCOMPANYING tags, they were not going to return the item. I contacted the manager about this. So the NEW POLICY for BOSCOV'S IS: IF you TAKE the TAG OFF of the ITEM, EVEN THOUGH it has only been THREE DAYS since the date of PURCHASE and YOU HAVE THE RECEIPT, they will NOT RETURN IT. The Butler Boscov's store has the best Petite store around (even comparing to stores in Pittsburgh)!! They have a great selection of companies and styles. It is a HUGE Petite Department!!! Prices are Great too!!! read more
