The cost is fair varying from everyday and special occasion cheeses. Gift basket with advance orders is also available. Besides cheese, they also have a small selection of sausages, jam, and snapps. Warning: The proprietors speak very, very little English. We managed to order a cheese and charcuterie board between their limited English and our limited German and it was just the best. They were so kind and hospitable, and the cheese, charcuterie and dessert were fresh, delicious, and perfectly paired. This is a WIN! Don't eat at any of those touristy places near the castles, go off the beaten path a bit and give Kasehaus a try... you won't regret it!

After paying, we were given small boxes with five different pieces of cheese to sample while walking through the museum. Halfway through the museum is a large window that overlooks the production facility where you can watch a video as well as the workers below making the cheese. Later on there is also a room where you can grind your own spices to keep. My son loved grinding the spices as well as watching the machine move the wheels of cheese around in the storage area. He also loved the playground outside. Overall this was a great stop on our tour of Switzerland and we highly recommend it for being both fun and educational!

Came here as part of a group tour while traveling for work. I love Bergkäse, so was very excited…read morefor the tour and tasting. It started snowing during the tour we were on directly before this, so we were about 15 minutes late, and the tour guide seemed pretty put out. Once we settled in, we were split into two groups: one would do the tasting first, and the other would do the tour, then we would swap. I wound up with the tour first, and I would recommend the other way around: the tour is pretty stationary and boring (you stand in front of the gift shop for half, and then move around the corner for the last half). I would have enjoyed it more after the cheese/wine! The tasting was great. They set out a gorgeous display of the different types of cheeses, bread, nuts, grapes, etc., and served us a few glasses of white wine. (I guess there was some limit to the wine, but they refilled my glass twice, and I didn't see anyone get cut off). The cheese was delicious (I prefer the stronger varieties), and this was a really fun activity. Highly recommend!

Though they are from a neighbouring village you can even buy them in the center of the passion play town Oberammergau, on Dorfstrasse, the main street. Taste nature, feel good, enyoj life, no bad idea to test the haunting good cheese specialities of the famous brand of the Schoenegg dairy farmers round the corner, stubborn folks who insist on day by day feeding the best and most tasty unique Alpine gras to their beloved cows jodeling from the mountain tops. Smell, have a bite, you will easily discover the difference in quality. Not every cheese is like the next one, good cheese may not only be much more expencive, if it ie really good quality it is simply recognizable by the typical smell each type has got. The best any way is the one you enjoy bit by bit, bite by bite, suddenly stating that there is nothing left but a real good feeling that it was fun.
