Anyone who complains about lack of elevators and other modern accoutrements miss the point entirely. We loved this place. The employees were all pleasant and seriously helpful. The location is a short walk from downtown but on a quiet corner away from noisy crowds. Our room was comfortable with all expected amenities. The continental breakfast was fabulous with eggs, bacon, ham, and salmon cooked to order. Coffee and tea were piping hot and unlimited. The bartender/hotel manager was a very pleasant fellow named Gary who was more than willing to lend a hand or offer pertinent information or directions with a smile. On Tuesday and Thursday nights local musicians gather and play traditional English folk music. Free! And they are quite good. The bar and lounge are pretty much like they have been for hundreds of years and literally ooze with tradition. Great place to sip a beer or nurse a gin and tonic. Terrific place to stay. So glad we chose them. Great job folks. Now, if we can only figure out the name of that French ship that was captured during the Battle of Trafalgar and lent one of it's beams that now sits overhead at the bar.

I didn't mean to tread on one of their feet. A decent ale selection by Looe standards with Jail Ale, Tribute and Doom Bar. The Jail ale was pretty nice. Some decent old music was being played. At the door the young man said he would find us a table but not near the screen. I just wanted a few pints so it was no problem. Table service was very quick and friendly. Contactless payment. All perfect. A great old fashioned pub. Loved it.

The elusive manager never appeared, while the rather "well fed" waitress claimed to do management duties, which she did not. The due refund was not much, just £3.50, but it shows you how horribly service oriented they are. I say avoid at all costs. Go across the street. Much better!

A relish of pineapple with various other ingredients but it's the hint of finely cut chilli that hits you. A fab harbour pub, friendly service by young staff (they need to be with those stairs). There is obviously an interest in music here too, with all the guitars on one wall and a keyboard and a drum kit in situ also. That said, the lack of atmosphere and two beers commonly found in the centre of town would cause me to think it unlikely that i would brave the car dodging pavementless route out of the town centre again No phone reception or wifi. Worth knowing.

There's room for another beer and if they keep it in such good condition then the place could really take off! The pint of Cornish Coaster I had here was so good...well....I didn't know I particularly liked the beer until I had it here! They also offer Bass. Does food.

Free wifi with 'the cloud' I have always thought that 'the cloud' sounded kind of sinister, like some kind of ill intentioned hive mind. No? Just me? Doom Bar or Tribute to tickle tongue and tonsils! Some interesting meals on the menu.
