Extremely frustrating experience. I paid this firm in full for a Chapter 7 bankruptcy, remained a client for several months, and my case was never filed. Despite no filing, I was later told that the firm had "earned" more than my retainer through internal billing. After cancelling services, I received only a partial refund described as a "courtesy," which is difficult to justify given that the primary service I hired them for was never completed. A significant portion of the billed work appeared to be administrative tasks (emails, portal updates, routine follow-ups) charged at high hourly rates. The process felt unnecessarily drawn out, with little progress toward actually filing the case. When I raised concerns, the response was dismissive and lacked transparency. I strongly recommend that anyone considering this firm ask very detailed questions about how time is billed, what work is actually being done, and how long the process should realistically take. Based on my experience, the cost did not match the outcome. *Update: what Borowitz & Clark wouldn't/"couldn't" do, Goldbach Law Group in Long Beach DID successfully! read more

Even though I ultimately didn't become a client of the firm, Erik Clark was extremely helpful and patient. He spent nearly an hour reviewing my current Chapter 13 case, answering my questions, and giving me his professional opinion on the best path forward. I've spoken with quite a few attorneys throughout this process, and Erik was refreshingly straightforward, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. I never felt rushed or pressured to retain the firm, he genuinely seemed focused on helping me understand my options and make an informed decision. I really appreciated his time and would absolutely recommend speaking with him if you're looking for thoughtful and candid bankruptcy advice. read more

I requested through Yelp a quote for a different attorney on filing for Chapter 13 - they sent my information to several different law groups. Long story short, I got a call from Borowitz & Clark - the receptionist was very nice and friendly and transferred me to the lawyer. Not sure if it was Borowitz or Clark - but they answered the phone very rudely - basically made me feel like "what the hell you want" - I explained my situation and he proceeded to tell me I do not qualify for Chapter 13 - even though 5 other law firms all said I can file it without an issue - he proceeds to be narcissistic and say "I don't care what other attorneys have told you I have over 30 years of experience and I won bankruptcy attorney of the year..." and went on a rant - I cut him off by saying "so you can't help me?" - he proceeded to bash me further so I hung up.... This guy is full of himself and someone who is going through bankruptcy should not have to deal with narcissistic cold soul-less individuals who make them feel terrible, no one wants to go through bankruptcy and trying to bash me for it and say you're the best attorney out there and that I'm out of "options" - is insane. I called another attorney who was very friendly and willing to look into my case and understood my situation with a warm heart. Thank God for Yelp - this individuals need to get a reality check, sorry if you're having a bad day but don't take it out on me. read more

This company is horrible. I called last December to ask about filing a BK and the person that spoke to me gave me incorrect information according to the actual attorney. They suggested I waited a while before filing even though I paid my $2838 in December. They were very hard to get a hold of and never returned your call. I may or may not get a response from emailing as well. I ended up canceling my BK in May and it took 6 weeks to get a partial refund of my money. They only returned $700. The majority of the build work seem to be for administrative tasks. They never even filed for me because I canceled it before they did anything. Apparently Every time I called, even though I didn't get to speak to anybody, they charged me for the call. The attorney was hard, cold and not personable at all. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. They were truly horrible. read more

All I could say Clark is a P.O.S that takes your money and does zero! Absolutely nothing!! Save your money , time , and run!! This held my money for nearly 3 years and did not even file any type of paper work! He laid off his employee, the one who was supposedly handling my case ..psssst... but claims that my case is closed because I'm the one who can not read , but he said he continuously sent me emails (I'm Seng, John's neighbor writing this on his behalf btw. He said I got 30 min on the phone with him but only given me 8 mins . He's always trying to ripped someone off one way or another smh.. I would give a minus 5 star review if I could.. if anyone else been ripped off by him or his company please come forward and bring this to the people's attention. read more

This place is horrible... to say the very least. Mr. Borrowitz ripped us off and then tried to take our home! The staff are completely incompetent and very "rude." The people over at Borowitz & Clark are standup professionals. I explored hiring different attorneys and heard what I wanted to hear, but not always the truth. The transparency, honesty, and professionalism I received from everyone at Borowitz & Clark really made me feel confident in the decisions I was making of hiring the right attorney and completing my legal matter. I would definitely suggest this firm for anyone seeking legal advice. read more

I don't recommend this place to no one totally unprofessional staff. The "Lady" that did our intake was extremely rude to my wife and myself. She is also a liar she said I was rude and disrespectful when she was totally unprofessional. I paid them in full for a bankruptcy witch they gave me horrible advice had me do chapter 13 only to have me change it to chapter 7 witch is what I wanted to do from the beginning. They owe me money for a over payment witch they keep giving me the runaround about. They promised me my credit would stay good witch it didn't because of the bankruptcy they promised my pink slip to my truck witch they haven't delivered. These people are scam artist. Eric is the worst he called me all irate do not do business with them they will scam you. Customer service there is none you have to call to make a appointment to talk to them.. the unethical part to me is they had me do chapter 13 and soon as I finished paying it we changed it to chapter 7 that's what they advised me to do. Finish the job and I will gladly make the update. Now he is threatening to sue me over an honest review. read more

Filing for bankruptcy is a emotional and stressful time for a lot of people. Mr. Erik Clark and the wonderful staff working in the office have been extremely helpful, accommodating, and overall awesome throughout the whole process of filing. We filed in late December last year and saw firsthand how hard Erik worked to get everything done before the new year even if it meant coming in to work during holiday time. It was a smooth and easy process and very grateful to put this chapter of life behind and move on. Overall very professional people here and offer great advice and guidance without any hesitation. And for anyone wondering, the price/fee is considerably reasonable and they will work with you to come up with a payment plan if needed. Don't hesitate to reach out for your free consultation, they really are the best. read more

Having little choice to our financial situation, we were fortunate to seek out a local attorney, that being Borowitz & Clark. Thank God for an attorney who discussed our bankruptcy situation with experience in the law, explaining the entire process with confidence that placed us at ease. I believe paralegals need to be thick-skinned and also understanding to assist clients contemplating and/or undergoing the BK process. They were great! Thank you Yesenia! The initial phase was nerve-wracking, the years apprehensive, but throughout this time, the office staff and attorney were readily available to help us with questions. Thank you Mr. Borowitz and staff, who assisted us throughout this 'closed' chapter in our lives. We are forever grateful. read more

Borowitz & Clark - Starting fresh! - Bankruptcy Law Near Me - West Covina, California

While I was a client I had terrible misunderstanding with a firm representative, and they had dropped my case, at a time when I was desperate for help. My lawyer, Mr Clark, who not only cleared up the misunderstanding, but reassured me that we can work on the BK issues I was having. The firm does exactly what you hire them for - a BK. SO if youre looking for a quick BK - this is your place! They retain all mandated court information, work their magic with the numbers and file for you. They will do it all as quickly as you can provide them with the necessary info. Its not easy, but I think its the courts that make it complicated. They need SO MUCH information from you. And when they schedule phone interviews to get the information from you, they fail to tell you exactly what youll need to know for the interview. I thought that was pretty crummy. Do not come here thinking they care about your personal issues, and will see what your best options are for your debt. I later learned elsewhere that I could have possibly avoided BK. However, the staff is professional and all of your inquiries are responded to within 24 hours. read more

I couldn't think of a better law office to handle your bankruptcy case. Specifically my attorney was Heather Canning, my bankruptcy was a hard one took lots of twist and even though I knew I was bugging them non stop Heather took the time to explain to me everything that was going on. I felt safe the whole time on her hands and knew she trully had the best interest at heart. Haven't even stepped in the office. Apparently they "triple booked" unorganized if you ask me... Maybe I'll post another review after meeting with them but for now they just pissed me off!!!! After meeting I found that this place is just not so professional. MY OPINION* Lady we first walked into the office with answered a few questions than asked if we mind that she stepped out to bring in another client. As she did another woman walks in asking if we had any questions if not our meeting was complete. The girls don't get me wrong were polite but that's just not how you run a business.
