Due to her negligence, I missed deadlines and my divorce case was dragged out longer than it needed to be. Further, as a result of her negligence in understanding my case, she provided legal guidance to me and recommended particular filings that ultimately put me in a worse situation than when I initially retained her. Upon request of a Sub of attorney to remove her from my case, she made up a lie about having previously submitted documents "that just weren't processed and [she] didn't know why it was taking so long.". However, I had contacted the courthouse directly the day prior to receiving her claims and was informed that there were no pending filings and nothing recent had been filed. Despite having legal representation, under Tina Chen, I found myself doing the legwork and follow up calls as she let so many things fall through the cracks. Furthermore, she continued to promise to provide me with an itemized statement week after week, and never provided it until 2 weeks after she signed the substitution of attorney. She also attempted to water down her negligence by providing me with an excuse that she was undergoing a medical procedure, HOWEVER IF I WAS A CLIENT SHE ACTUALLY CARED ABOUT, this is something that would have been brought to my attention before things escalated. After my experience with her, it was clear to me that she prioritized specific clients while leaving other clients to fend for themselves. Whether this was determined by competency in the legal matters, or cash flow, she did NOT do her due diligence and was not committed to assisting me through my case, ultimately leaving me in no better position than when I hired her.
