Dont do it. I was under the impression that this was a good quality reputable real painting company. Unfortunately turns turns out this is a dysfunctional family, with an odd son who never got away from his parents, and two elderly workers. That's it. As far as the work goes, it was not the worst quality. Although it could be picked apart dramatically. But that is not the worst of it. They do no real repairs or patching. And in getting the estimate, the young son came over did the estimate, looked at the work and talked up the company. Fine, the execution of the work was done by an elderly woman who would not shut the hell up, asking of your business and getting in the way. Walking around with a cast on her foot and working at the pace of a handicapped snail. The father, a decrepit old man who can barely hear and cannot paint for crap, by the admission of the wife and the son. Who comes to your house and asks for money every three days. And when they ask for that money, they charge you for work they have not even done, which we realized when we fired them and they have yet to return the upwards of $800 worth of work that we did not have done but we unfortunately paid for. They work from nine-ish, and take lunch at 11, just stupid. They only use one color a day, apparently washing a brush or using two colors is beyond their capability in a single day, they have hair appointments, doctor appointments, school responsibilities for their children which break up the six hours a day that they work on a good day. The Son promises all kinds of things, only to be hit with extra charges by the elderly parents to make up for the son promising stuff they cannot deliver. The mother spent three weeks painting with one brush, one roller and one small tarp under her as she waddled and hobbled around the house painting one room every two days. Just ridiculous. She not only was elderly but working with a broken foot and stumbling around the house telling us how dangerous it was for her to be doing this. The son only showed up a couple hours on a couple days to paint where the mother could not get because it was too high for her broken foot, these people are wicked stupid. They are not painters, they are a family who takes money for hanging out in your house way too long. The family dynamic is disturbing and intrusive, this is not a professional painting company by any means whatsoever. Every few days or so they will ask you for money and if you are not careful, you must watch that they charge you for things that they have not even done yet. We fired them after they had finished what they had started, canceling the exterior of our house and cabinetry and woodwork in our house because we did not have enough time in our life to get through their incredibly slow and dangerous and rude process. We wanted to hire a local, and we regret it, if you have no problem with old ladies lying on your floor painting slowly while nonstop talking, and leaving after only six hours a day of work then this is a good company for you. If you want a professional quality job, to not be charged additionally as the day goes by every day, then hire a professional company, that has real employees, not a mommy, daddy, and weird son who never got away from his parents, and abscesses and dresses up like a ghost buster. These people are mental cases. I'm just telling you, these people are douche bags, they are not craftsman, they are not professional, they are embarrassing as a family and a company. if you want a good painter, hire "A+ painting. They are professional, they are not related to each other and they do good work. read more

I recently moved to Tracy and hired this company to paint two sets of large built in cabinets in my family room and the quality of work is not what I expected at all for having been on the Best of Tracy list in past years. There is an 8 foot long piece of trim where the white primer was showing under the black paint. I also pointed out several areas on the corners of cabinets doors that still had primer showing through. The cabinet doors where rough to the touch where the dust feel in them and paint was sprayed over it. One of the cabinet doors had obvious brush marks where it looks like they tried to retouch. There is a clear demarcation on the back wall of the large TV insert where they put plastic. Overspray highlights the place where the plastic was placed. There were small defects on the cabinet doors that they could have filled in and painted over .. but all they did was just paint over them. I would definitely recommend anyone looking for a good paint job to stay away from these people. They have no longer been on the best of Tracy list for the past couple of years and now I know why. When I called them back to look at my concerns, the owner was very rude and told me I was being too picky and that the job was done. He said that the only thing he would be willing to do is retouch with a brush. But he was not willing to spray again. I am a physician and I pride myself in trying my best to offer quality service. I am disappointed with this company for not providing what I strive to provide as a professional. I have to mention that they were not inexpensive. I paid 2500 for two sets of cabinets. read more

We live in the Edgewood development in Tracy. We have the stained yellow oak finished cabinets that were installed by the home builder. Not the best quality but the lacquer finish is crapola. The lacquer just died, not sure why, we did nothing to it to cause its demise, just age I guess, quality lacquer work would not die like ours did. We have very positive prior experiences with Borncamp Painting and asked them if they could help us. Ford Borncamp gave us a very fair estimate, we had 3 other estimates that went from super cheap to WOW. Lisa Borncamp did the work. She sanded all of the key surfaces, and put primer on everything to prep for proper paint adhesion, you have to know what you are doing when you put paint on lacquer, the Borncamp's know their business. Lisa painted the cabinets with what is considered the best paint for a bathroom environment, Duropoxy (Ford Borncamp recommendation), it looks really good. The cabinets got 4 coats (three bathroom vanities, and three linen closets), it took that much to cover our ugly woodwork. The point is: Lisa kept painting the cabinets until the painted surface looked like new (my wife chose white paint and it took a few coats to cover properly), she did not cut any corners or get skimpy with the paint. Lisa is also the best I have ever seen at "cutting" a fine paint edge, a pro. Lisa was on time, did a full-days work, was very tidy and the finished product is simply stunning. My wife is extremely picky (I bet this is the first time you have ever heard about a picky wife) and she is just tickled with Lisa's results. They have competitive pricing because they skimp on paint, only applying one coat. When I asked for two, he told me it wasn't necessary because spraying one coat was "just as good as painting two coats with any other method of application" What ??? He also uses a high-pressure attachment on a hose to take off peeling paint, not scraping as it should be done. Mr. Borncamp was very short and terse with me whenever I spoke with him. I made a point of telling him that my plants are very important to me, and to please not place his ladder on the crowns of any of them. After the talk I continued to find broken crowns all around my house, it was obvious he didn't even try to miss them. I spoke too his wife about his attitude, and she told me it was because he was hard of hearing !? Huh ??? Last but not least, his "just as good" single coat work started to chip/peel on my garage door withing the second year, as well as all around the base of my home. It has been only five years and I already have to re-paint. Avoid this man and his company, because THEY SUCK ! read more
