Dr Barbara Jordan did an assessment and said she could handle doing the stitches in office. Let me tell ya, she did an awesome job! The stitches looked great (if one can ever say stitches look good. LOL). and the scarring will be minimal. Highly recommend. We will go back if we ever needed.

First 3 times was a stage 4 cancer survivor who she agreed to see when the doctors office called her. Third time was for myself. I have a virus and the second I made it in I ran to the bathroom to vomit and fell to the floor shivering if that tells you how sick I am. Why you ask? Oh boy am I glad to tell you. 1st attempt: We forgot the card. (Our bad) 2nd Attempt: We were told we didn't have enough for copay. We knew it was $25. (We left no fight.) 3rd Attempt: Behold it's a $25 copay #NotFunnyBitches. However, they refuse to see her because here medical issues are too intense. She just needed her vitals checked as a follow up for an ER visit. She didn't even offer to check her vitals just sent her away. She's survived worse so fuck them. She didn't get seen by a doctor and had a minor heart attack shortly after. (We didn't fight we found a better doctor.) 4th attempt: I'm chunky and I have 2 insurance. One through my dad and one through my job. My dad's is better and he lives in Arkansas so I use the digital cards provided by my insurance company. They denied me weak and shivering and begin to cry to my boyfriend why won't they see me. I begged the doctor to see me since I had multiple insurance and she told me i wouldn't be seen if I caused a scene. The doctor and attendant went to help another patient. So while I was alone I cried to my boyfriend again asking in denial why they can turn down so many patients who have insurance and need them. They came out and told me I would not be seen. I lost it this time and as was walking out screamed "Why don't you help people? The people on the island are poor and need help and you won't help them. Fuck you bitches." I'm an introvert and literally have anxiety about telling anyone no This is not my normal behavior, but these witches don't deserve to be the only practice on the island. If you are a good doctor I beg you to come to this city and provide healthcare for the locals on the island and the thousands of people who visit here so we can have an competent practice.... A doctor's duty is to care. Turning away a guest in need when they have medical insurance and are begging to be seen is the work of true demons with no heart. If you are a good person please do not go here. You risk yourself or loved ones not being help. You also put food in the belly of scum who wouldn't help a you if you were dying.

Her care for her patients is impeccable and I have followed her wherever she went. I have always recommended her to other friends and coworkers when they are looking for a physician and they have also held her in high regards because of how great of a physician she is. Dr. Deberry is very knowledgeable and is very friendly and patient. When I have needed to be referred out for other medical concerns, she has made great recommendations / referrals. She takes her time with you and does not rush like some physicians may do. She explains things in detail and you leave there with a good understanding of what's going on with your body. I highly recommend her for anyone that's looking for a physician.

I would not recommend going here unless you want to be taken advantage of and pay for things you did not ask for. Dr. Wallace at Roper St. Francis Primary Care took advantage of my college age daughter who simply asked for a well-women appointment that is covered by our insurance. My daughter first had to pay for a "new patient" appointment before she would even schedule a well-woman exam. During that appointment Dr. Wallace requested my daughter get testing for something she was already being treated for by a different professional. My daughter told her she was already paying a lot of money to have this issue resolved by a different professional. She assured my daughter she would label this testing as preventative care so insurance would cover it 100%. Well, she did not label it as preventative, so now we are paying $390 for a test my daughter did not even need in addition to $120 for a new patient apt that was totally unnecessary and my daughter still did not get her well-woman check. So she had to schedule a second apt for that. At her well-woman check, (which only lasted 10 mins because Dr. Wallace was 45 mins late and had one foot out the door before even walking in) Dr. Wallace mentioned my daughter's test results, which were completely normal and we already knew from my chart. However, because Dr. Wallace spent 2 mins talking to my daughter about her "normal" test results, we were charged an additional $113 because it was not part of the well-woman check, so we were charged an additional appointment fee for information my daughter already knew and did not ask for. I talked to our insurance company and the front desk at the doctor's office and they agreed we should not have been charged. However, when talking to manager, she refused to help us out or adjust any payments. So now we are being charged $623 for a well-woman appointment that should not have cost anything at all.

MEDICAL BILLING FRAUD…read more Charged $388 for a standard annual well-woman exam that should've been free. I had to pay $388 out-of-pocket to avoid the bill (that I should never have received) going to collections. MUSC said I should be reimbursed eventually, but over a month has gone by. According to my health insurance company, MUSC has not taken any action to resolve the issue. Fraudulent billing. PSA: All women with health insurance are entitled to free annual well-woman exams under the Affordable Care Act. The exam needs to be billed correctly as preventative care.

Some healthcare facilities here clearly just push patients through and you barely get 5 minutes of the doctor's time. You won't get that at Carnes Crossroads Primary Care, or any MUSC facility for that matter. Dr. Bigelow was highly recommended to us. He has very good bedside manner and I appreciate that he actually takes the time to listen to what is going on. Plus the MUSC MyChart app is very useful for tracking test results and for communicating with your healthcare team. The only problem that I have is that everyone else in the area must be going here too because it's near impossible to get a same day appointment. I was told if you are sick you can almost always get an appointment same or next day, but I'm not sure how accurate that is. For example, my son has a possible infection and called 8am Monday morning to schedule an appointment and the earliest they could see him was Wednesday at 4pm. So it's kind of a catch 22: you'll great health care here but only if they have the time to see you. Even with that, I highly recommend going here.

I would not recommend this practice for any amount of money in the world. I was told that per the American medical Association. I had to see my primary care physician every three months. Turns out that was a LIE. It was company policy not the American medical Association's policy. Turns out they lie about a lot!!!!! I'm furious!!!!! I was also told that I could do telehealth appointments once I moved out of state. When I signed on for my last telehealth visit, the office had no problem taking my payment. About an hour before my appointment was supposed to start I received a phone call from the office saying that the doctor could no longer treat me because I lived out of state. I ended up having to call the office manager and pitch a fit because they were gonna keep my money for the appointment even though it was their fault for not informing me that they could no longer see me. When I asked how long this policy had been in place the receptionist told me they'd known they couldn't see out of state patients for 2 months before my appointment!!!! Do not trust this practice do not trust the doctors that run this practice. They are all about the money and could honestly care less about the patient. What an incredible disappointment.

Mount Pleasant Location: I would give this office zero stars…read moreif it'd let me. I had an extremely frustrating experience with this office and would strongly caution others. I originally came in for a routine physical, which should have been fully covered by my insurance. Instead, I was billed for standard services like bloodwork. It took SIX MONTHS of repeated calls and back-and-forth to get this addressed. Every time you call, you're routed to a call center, which makes resolving anything even more difficult. After reading other reviews, it seems like this is a common issue here. On top of that, basic accuracy seems to be a problem. I'm 5'10" and fully grown, yet they initially recorded me as 6'1". When I questioned it, my chart was later updated to 5'6" -- which is wildly inaccurate and concerning. The most frustrating part: I specifically went in last fall to establish care and ensure continuity for a prescription after moving from NC. I clearly explained that I didn't need a refill at that time since my previous doctor had just sent one in. I was told that was fine and that I could simply call when I needed a refill. When I called today, they refused to fill it and said I'd need to come in for another appointment and pay again -- completely contradicting what I was previously told. Overall, this office is disorganized, inconsistent, and incredibly frustrating to deal with. I would AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
