It's the only place on the Alte Donau where you can find kayaks (although they only have 6 kayaks altogether), they also have paddling boats, kanus, electroboats etc. The prices are a bit lower than everywhere around. They count the time in minutes, so you will pay for the time you actually have been away. You can pay couple of euros to get the key to a locker to store your things. The boats are not insured, so if anything happens you are responsible for consequences (apparently the same at every rental). They also have some food and drinks if you are too lazy to walk somewhere else after the trip. read more

We are totally disappointed with this restaurant. They were incopetent: we clarified 3 times what we wanted to order and they brought us the wrong food. They were rood: when we went inside and asked where our food was after waiting for 30 minutes, they answered 'Do you want a shoe instead?' They charged us 6 euros for a bottled orange juice. Our conclusion: we highly recommend you NOT to step in this place. There are nicer, quieter and cheaper restaurants around the Old Danube. read more

Die Bootsvermietung KUKLA ist seit fast einem Jahrhundert ein Symbol für Bootsfahrten und Wassersportvergnügen in Wien an der Alten Donau.Egal, ob du ein erfahrener Kapitän bist oder zum ersten Mal ein Boot steuerst, wir haben das passende Boot für dich. Unsere Flotte umfasst verschiedene Arten von Booten, darunter motorisierte Boote, Ruderboote und Kanus. So kannst du das perfekte Boot für deine Bedürfnisse und Vorlieben wählen.

History

Established in 1925.

Die Bootsvermietung KUKLA wurde im Jahre 1925 an der Alten-Donau an der Wagramer Straße Höhe Kagranerbrücke unter dem Namen des Urgroßvater Skricka gegründet. Der damalige Fuhrpark bestand aus handgefertigten Ruderbooten, Pönt, und sogenannten Rollern, die den heutigen Rennruderbooten sehr ähnlich waren. Die Bootswerkstätte befand sich am Fischerstrand auf den Gründen der ehemaligen Wiener Eis-Werke. Weitere Bootsvermietungen im Familienbesitz befanden sich in Klosterneuburg (Kirling) und Kritzendorf (Silbersee). Die Bootsvermietung Klosterneuburg (Kirling) wurde beim großen Eisstoß auf der Donau in den 30er Jahren völlig zerstört und nicht wieder aufgebaut. Seit 2018 werden nun die Bootsstege die teileweise bis zu 60 Jahre alt sind Stück für Stück erneuert. In 5er Generation wird 2024 Thomas Kukla den Betrieb übernehmen.

Unfassbar unfreundlichen Personal. Zuerst wird mir etwas falsches gebracht obwohl ich mich bei dem jungen unfähigen Kellner 3 mal wiederholen musste was ich möchte. Auf die Anfrage wo mein Essen dann bleibt hat mich die Chefin gefragt ob ich nicht stattdessen eine Schuhsohle will! Außerdem sind die Schnitzel so groß wie eine Kinder Portion. Für einen halben Liter Orangensaft (Nicht frisch gepresst zahlt man 6EUR!!!) Obwohl 0,25 ml 2,5 EUR kostet. NICHT EMPFEHLENSWERT!!!!! read more
