My only gripe, well two gripes, is that the parking can be an absolute nightmare sometimes, and also that they make you wait 48 hours to get a repeat prescription. I don't know if all doctors are the same but it's well annoying. lol. Apart from that, I am happy with this practice.

I guess most people know exactly what high street giant Boots is like, so there's no point in going into too much detail about it. Despite the fact this particular Boots is a large store carrying a vast and varied stock I just don't shop here as much as I used to. This is because I prefer Superdrug own-brand products which are labelled Vegetarian, Vegan and Cruelty Free. I find it disappointing that Boots will not commit to the Leaping Bunny Program for its own-brand items. Thus, although they pay lip service to the Cruelty Free ethos and may tell the public that their products are cruelty free, Boots could be selling products worldwide in countries, such as China, where animal testing is the norm and sadly a requirement. I just won't support this nor give my money to a company which profits from cruelty outside the European Union. No amount of heavy duty marketing, loyalty card points, two for the price of one special offers, discounts or sales offers will make me think otherwise. Hence nowadays I avoid Boots as much as possible and instead shop at Superdrug or online from companies I am confident are truly Cruelty Free on a worldwide scale.

The X-rays will be reviewed by a specialist and the results will be sent to your home and your doctor in about two weeks. So ladies if you haven't availed yourself of this service don't be afraid, that half an hour could literally save your life.

That is because Ards hospital is responsible for delivering wee baby me around 23 years ago. Unfortunately they no longer offer midwifery, some say they reached the pinnacle around 23 years ago but others argue that government budget cuts encouraged the closure of this centre. I believe the former. Ards Hospital really is a shadow of its former self, but it still plays an important role in the community. They offer a walk in service Monday to Friday and if I was to have a minor injury I would bypass Hospitals that are closer to my home in order to go to Ards hospital. Day care, Outpatients facilities and minor operations are also preformed at Ards Hospital. Ards Hospital has always been extremely sympathetic to its patients needs. It has the feeling of a Family GP practice rather than a city hospital. The building itself has the same personality as the staff, wise and open with a whole lot of knowledge to share. It was once a Victorian workhouse but there is no need to worry about being served gruel at Ards today as they offer full catering department equipped with an affordable café for patients and visitors. All in all I would commend this hospital for its character and approach to care.

My Doctor is Dr Abraham and she has always been easy going and open which is a great help when you are ill. The surgery itself acts as a pillar of the community. It is clean and well organised. The girls or should I say ladies at reception are really hard working and they do there best to make an appointment convenient for you. Recently I had to access my medical records which I thought would be a bit of a hassle. But the process was in fact simple. Thanks to the staff at Cleland Park. One criticism of the place is that the toys in the waiting room are getting rather dated. I know I shouldn't be playing with them but there is not much else to do when you are waiting. The abacus could certainly use a bit of tender loving care.

Big enough, but certainly not huge. And the prices are all very reasonable. I got myself one of the newest L'Oreal mascaras for £7.99 (£3 off), and a great deal of the products are well priced. 2) The sales assistants are always happy to help. I've had conversations with the staff about my hayfever, and they were extremely helpful and aided me in my purchasing of certain tablets and nasal sprays. Even when I just pop in to grab something, they're super friendly and refreshingly cheerful. 3) They have a superb photo-developing section at the back left of the shop. I got my photos done here a couple of years ago for a really good price, and was able to collect them a couple of hours later. Indubitably a favourite.

After a tumultuous dash to the nearest shop / shelter, out of the heavy rain, my sister and I decided it may be an idea to have a nosey around this lovely little pharmacy. I had decided I was in dire need of hairspray (not at that precise moment...I think it was a little late for that), and so set about finding a decent, yet affordable can. In no time at all, my eyes had settled upon a bright pink number (and I don't even like pink...), with a cheeky 'new' sign splashed across the front. Darn these marketing monkeys who know fine rightly that 'new' means 'must have' in girl language. Hmph.* My sister was meanwhile entertaining the sales assistant by performing a 'will (s)he / won't (s)he' sneezing act. "I'm gunna sneeze Lynne", says she, "Oh wait, no I'm not". When said sneeze did eventually come, the sales assistant was trying her best to stifle a giggle. Probably the most entertainment she'd had the entire afternoon, given the dreadful weather. *May I just add, this stuff smells delice. Seriously. Like apples and oranges and other wonderfully fruity smells. Who cares if it doesn't keep my hair intact? All in a days work...

So, here we go... 1) This is an extra special pharmacy. Actually. It has a lovely gift section, with cards, jewellery and fancy toiletries. And Yankee Candles. Oooh baby. Which leads me to my next point... 2) It has Yankee Candles! Ok, ok...they're really, really cheap Yankee Candles. I picked up a couple of brand new scented tarts / melts (whatever you want to call them) for a mere 90p. This still excites me greatly, so I'm going to pause for a minute to compose myself... 3) Ok, I'm good to go. It's not just those Yankee Candles that are super cheap [breathes] - pretty much everything in the shop is excellently priced. My fave deodorant was £1.00, I got the delicious Radox Smoothie shower gel for £1.25 (half price), and to be fair, I probably could have bought an awful lot more. But I didn't. Self-control was exercised. 4) The staff were lovely, like really, really cheerful and pleasant. Thumbs up for them. I probably could go, but I won't. Totally incompetent staff of a few young girls who haven't got a clue. Messed up my prescription of controlled drugs causing me major stress and inconvenience and days of trying to sort out myself with my GP. If it's a Yankee candle or a mascara grand but for a prescription, sorry I won't be back ever!!!
