Management strongly needs training on racism. My daughter and I, Native Americans, experienced…read moreracism by the manager of the West Fargo location. Both of us were wearing worn and dated shoes and while the employee working looked at both of our shoes when we walked out she walked out behind us and took down my license plate number. I went back in to ask why and the employee said the manager instructed her to do so. The manager came to the front and said she thought we left with different shoes but said she didn't find any "empties" in the back. Clearly we were being watched even though there were many customers, none of which were persons of color. Not only that but the manager was aggressive and hostile in her demeanor. I'm very disappointed and sincerely hope that the issue is addressed but considering it happened in 2019 by someone else who left a review, it would seem racism is acceptable to Famous Footwear. The picture shows the shoes the manager thought were stolen.

Ultimately found acceptable shoes on my own and stood at counter for 5 minutes as staff walked by me but even acknowledging my presence. Finally a young lady took my money. I would have complained at the time of visit (5 minutes ago) but I was too upset to hold a rational discussion. In all honesty Walmart has better service and friendlier staff. I'd rate zero stars if that were an option.

This is absolutely the largest most extensive sporting goods store I've ever been in in my life! It has everything that you need and more. I bought a cool US Army golfing shirt! What really made this different though, was the exceptional genuine friendly customer service! I have never been treated so warmly in a retail establishment ever! I've got to say that this was, by far, the best retail store that I have ever been in. I highly recommended Scheels Fargo to anyone who wants to get something in the sporting goods arena and also wants to have a very pleasant experience while they're shopping. Oh, by the way, they have a shooting gallery, which was fun, and a Ferris wheel, which I rode!... I also took a picture of myself with the bison and the grizzly bear!
