"CSD should be every weekend"…read more
On a sunny Saturday in Berlin, the butterflies come out of their hiding, faces painted with smiles, ready to embrace others and enjoy a day of freedom, understanding and hope towards a more open and less judgmental society.
Christopher Street Day in Berlin is full of people who are beautiful for being themselves and for wanting to love like they are. Like WE are. This and similar events serve to remind us all of how beautifully diverse we are in all our shapes, sizes, color and convictions, that none of us are alone and we needn't be afraid of living our lives as we feel is natural for us to.
If I had a sack which could hold them, I'd go around on Christopher Street Day and collect all the hugs, smiles and kisses I could (don't worry, there's more than plenty to go around). I'd save these for days in which I'm feeling just a little under-the-weather, and hand them out on dreary street corners. I may not have much but myself and a sack full of hope, but I'd be richer than all passersby on any day which is not Christopher Street Day.
