"CSD should be every weekend"…read more On a sunny Saturday in Berlin, the butterflies come out of their hiding, faces painted with smiles, ready to embrace others and enjoy a day of freedom, understanding and hope towards a more open and less judgmental society. Christopher Street Day in Berlin is full of people who are beautiful for being themselves and for wanting to love like they are. Like WE are. This and similar events serve to remind us all of how beautifully diverse we are in all our shapes, sizes, color and convictions, that none of us are alone and we needn't be afraid of living our lives as we feel is natural for us to. If I had a sack which could hold them, I'd go around on Christopher Street Day and collect all the hugs, smiles and kisses I could (don't worry, there's more than plenty to go around). I'd save these for days in which I'm feeling just a little under-the-weather, and hand them out on dreary street corners. I may not have much but myself and a sack full of hope, but I'd be richer than all passersby on any day which is not Christopher Street Day.

We really loved coming here to Schloss Charlottenburg…read more The grounds and the exterior are amazing. They are well worth the visit just to see them. They're also much larger than nearby Sanssouci in Potsdam and I believe, just as impressive. The downside is the limited area inside the Schloss you can see and lighting is atrocious. Even on a sunny day, it's dark inside except in a few rooms. That said, we would come back in a nanosecond. The private chapel is a must see, as is the throne room.

What a massive palace. Didn't know it was build by the wife of Frederick III in the late 17…read morecentury, impressive. This Baroque Palace is one of the largest palaces in the world and it a long walk from one end to another and it 2 levels (or more) and there are 2 sections of it. Each room was decor in different theme, style and decor. Walking through it like being travel around the world - they even have a church, a big ass garden. Plus a grand gardening room that was so beautiful that you just spend more time there then other. Also a Chinese room that was so impressive, make you feel like you learn about Chinese culture in one visit. You could spend a while there to slowly browsing the place and I'm sure you still missing something. The garden would be a fun place to explore in the summer time by the look of it from the second flower.

Postfuhramt, Exhibition Centre for Photography…read more Postfuhramt building was constructed in the 18751881 by Wilhelm Tuckermann according to the plans of Carl Schwatlo. It was seriously damaged during the Second World War and partially restored in the years 1973-1989. From the year 1997 it has been used as the exhibition centre. And that's what it is now the Exhibition Centre for Photography. The gallery hosts various exhibitions that oten change. The content as well as the quality of the works exposed might be different. You might be lucky to find there great pictures of famous or unknown photograpers or you might be disappointed. The good thing is that there is enough room for several exhibitions at the same time which provides you with a good chance to see at least something that you would like. The interior of the Postfuhramt is not what you expect to see keeping in mind its pretty clean facade. The peeling walls provocatively exposing layers of the paint they where wearing for last decades, crumbling stucco, and worn-out doors create a scary and enchanting background for photograps. At the second glance the biggest exhibition room proves to be a former sport hall with one of the hoops still fixed to the wall. I guess you have to be quite a pervert to see the beauty of this collapsing block of history but I swear I loved it! Definitely worth a visit.
