I am floored by the amount of books, in every single category imaginable. Yes, they have a large children's section. There is a giant plush figure standing near a black pole in front of the children's books. I checked out each floor. I'm a sucker for novelty items, which they have plenty of. They sell multiple models of Polaroid cameras and film. Tons of calendars in different formats. Their vinyl room is on the ground floor, in the back. The store is sleek, clean, and organized. If you're in Berlin, I recommend visiting this store.

Great bookstore! Plus, a lot of everything else!…read more Dussmann's is an incredible bookstore. But, it is so much more than that. Beyond an insane collection of books, they also have tons of very unique novelty items that make great gifts or, something for yourself-- something that you never knew you needed. This shop is a multilevel business. They have multiple floors with books and other items on every floor. Plus, it is just stuffed full with an insane amount of books covering all varieties to quench your reading experience. As mentioned, they are much more than just an incredible bookstore. They also have a great selection of vinyl. So, for all of you vinyl enthusiasts, this is a great place to go and find that unique piece of music that you've wanted either very recently or all the way back to when you were young. It's really hard to explain just how much this store offers. I mean, if you're looking for a specific book, it's more than likely they will have. And, if they don't, they can most likely get it for you. Dussmann's great places to sit around and take a look at that book you may be interested in purchasing. Or, you can go there and have interesting discussions with your friends or family about literature and/or anything else. This is truly a great shop! Not only do you never know what you will find, but, if you're looking for something very specific, more than likely you'll be able to find it here.

Postfuhramt, Exhibition Centre for Photography…read more Postfuhramt building was constructed in the 18751881 by Wilhelm Tuckermann according to the plans of Carl Schwatlo. It was seriously damaged during the Second World War and partially restored in the years 1973-1989. From the year 1997 it has been used as the exhibition centre. And that's what it is now the Exhibition Centre for Photography. The gallery hosts various exhibitions that oten change. The content as well as the quality of the works exposed might be different. You might be lucky to find there great pictures of famous or unknown photograpers or you might be disappointed. The good thing is that there is enough room for several exhibitions at the same time which provides you with a good chance to see at least something that you would like. The interior of the Postfuhramt is not what you expect to see keeping in mind its pretty clean facade. The peeling walls provocatively exposing layers of the paint they where wearing for last decades, crumbling stucco, and worn-out doors create a scary and enchanting background for photograps. At the second glance the biggest exhibition room proves to be a former sport hall with one of the hoops still fixed to the wall. I guess you have to be quite a pervert to see the beauty of this collapsing block of history but I swear I loved it! Definitely worth a visit.

What a cool comic fair! Although it wasn't as big as comic con, but sure got lot of things a comic…read morefan looking for. I was quite excited about it when I first heard about it. And it didn't let me down. The location of the fair is really great, from U-Bahn station Wittenbergplatz to here on foot took about 8-10 mins. The entrance wasn't free, but it was quite cheap, totally acceptable. There were lots of information plans and flyers at the entrance, great to get to know the comics sense in Berlin. After I got the ticket, I just started to explore this place. This Comicmesse was actually bigger than I expected and this place was much nicer. There are many different stands of comics and couple mangas, many comic here are on sale. It was definitelya great place to do some treasures hunt, I found many really cool comics with really cool price. People are very easy going here, when you pick a comic, they could simply tell you how many part of the comics got. Brilliant! Beside comics and mangas, they also have some other stands, they got many different cool figures, some of them are really rarely. Well, of course, that means higher price, but no fans will care about it too much anyway. There were also some promotions of some new and local comics, quite cool. Inside the place also got little bar, so people could sit down, have a nice drink and enjoy their reading. I personally like the event very much. It offered lot of things. It was quite pity, it was only one day. Also i would like to see some cosplays as well, that's will be even more fun. Well, location wasn't big enough for that though. Hopefully, in the future it will got this, and only get better. I am sure, I will come again next year. It is a wonderland for people who love comics, to enjoy and explore.
