I live in a large city, so I don't tend to have the best memory of the names and faces of store owners where I shop. Especially when it's just once. I thought this place was really nice and liked the clothing and accessories (hence me making purchases). I do have a vague memory of the woman in the store. She brought me a pair of shoes in my size once and I of course thanked her at the register and complimented her shop as I paid a pretty large sum for my items. I am known for being very kind to local businesses, cashiers, waiters, etc. As odd as it sounds. Over a year later, a few of my friends that live in the area told me that "Moni" was telling people how much she hated me. I had to ask who that was. Kinda shocked me. An entire year after a nice experience in her store and spending money in it, the owner is telling people she hates me. It's pI live in a large city and can't imagine someone remembering a one time customer by name after a year. Especially one that didn't cause conflict. What a truly tacky person. Don't even bother going in this place. It seems that no one is good enough for Moni. Still can't figure out if it was the money I spent or the Thank you so much that I said to her that made her trash talk me to a small town 1500 miles away from me. But either way. The name of the store caught my eye. We actually hung out a…read morefew minutes for it to open so I could check it out before hitting the road again. The young woman who opened up was all smiles and let us right in. The store is full of treasures. From different brands of clothing, jewellery, art, knick knacks, to vegan hand made soaps. I wish I had taken pictures inside because the interior is beautiful. We found out that they have put in a lot of time into bringing the historic building to current state. The building used to be the Bijou Theatre which was the biggest silent theater around. There are beautifully restored posters that were found in the ceiling on the place now on display on the walls. They watched anime and weird shows that swore. They never greeted me, never asked if I needed help with anything, etc. (which will definitely affect the chances of me buying something). Nothing was organized or cleaned. It was like walking through a dump that smelled vaguely of stale cigarettes. Everything was dirty and it was obvious that they hadn't cleaned anything. Glad it's closed, there's nicer thrift stores out there and I'm definitely willing to drive the distance.
