When she mentioned some items that I DID request through Thumbtack, I was putting two-and-two together; but reputable businesses just reply to the inquiry from wherever they got it (Yelp, Thumbtack, Anji, etc.), not just call like a telemarketer. She said, "well, information just gets put in our computer and we call". So basically, farming leads like a telemarketer instead of actually caring about the customer's specific requests (that they be contacted the same way they reached out). I asked her to remove the contact detail - she hung up without acknowledging or apologizing. So basically, just like a telemarketer. Avoid them.

What I expected would be a two day job turned into a three week project. Nothing was level, plumb, or straight. There were gaps left in the walls and the flower boxes were never finished. Dan became irate and combative. The work that was attempted now needs to be dismantled and rebuilt. The worker that was sent over admitted he had never done this before. He was not trained or supervised and was left to just wing it. I am left with an eye sore of an unfinished project even though we gave him half the money down at the start. I would never hire him again for anything.

We…read morecalled him out to rebuild a failing stone wall and ended up doing several bluestone projects, one of which is not quite complete yet so photos are of the other. He works one job at a time so you aren't waiting while he goes to another job. Our projects were long and difficult given the issues with the stone available. It took longer than expected because the nearly every stone needed cutting on multiple sides to accomplish a patio that is flat and properly graded. We had one hiccup with the design given the complexities of the job and Jim's solution made it far better than our original plan. When we called him out for an addition, he offered to fix anything that shifted over winter but nothing did, it looks great and we love our patio, walk and wall.

One of the best was from Mudjackers but as important was the unsolicited recommendation of the engineer who inspected and wrote up the plans (and secured permits) for our house. It all couldn't have gone any better. These guys were timely, helpful, professional, knowledgeable, etc. From the actual digging and piering that was done to the follow up (the following spring) with adding top soil and grass seed. Easy to deal with, helpful at every turn, etc. If you have to spend $20K-$40K on this painful and otherwise undesired house fix, you want it to be as friendly and professionally done as these guys do their thing. I hope you don't have your foundation repaired and jacked up, but if you do -- these guys are a solid five star choice.
