It was an easy ride and the horses were so well behaved. You could tell they were really well taken care of. This is a great activity for families, dates, or just by yourself (what I did). The staff is lovely and friendly. I can't wait to go back. I'll probably do an individual ride next time and see if we can do some running. Insider tip, bring apples for the horses! Just cut them in half before you come, they'll love you for it.

She's very intuitive and knows how to communicate instruction to help you become a better rider, whether it's English or Western riding. Anne & Peyton truly care about the animals and the people that board and ride at their farm. Cedar Lake is a haven for me to visit after working in the corporate environment all day. The atmosphere and surroundings are beautiful and peaceful and a welcome change from the day-to-day. There are a lot of activities for both kids and adults. They are very active with local animal charities and give back to the community.

I've been taking lessons with Jeanne at the Charlotte Equestrian Club for three months and love it…read more I had long wanted to take lessons, but could never quite pull the trigger. I was so scared at my first lesson, but pushed through my fear and I'm so happy I did. Jeanne is a patient and thoughtful instructor and she has a clear connection with the horses. She also wanted to understand my goals and matched me with the right horse. Lastly, I feel completely safe on and around the horses and my favorite part of the lesson is grooming the horse afterwards. Her farm is also a respite from the hustle and bustle of the city, but so close - 15 minutes from Uptown. On the days when I have lessons, all the stress of the day melts away as soon as I hit the gravel driveway. If you're looking for lessons for yourself or your kids, I highly recommend Charlotte Equestrian Club.
