(Siop y Siswrn) You can't miss this place, as there are always lively displays of Welsh-themed artworks and local-interest books on show to catch your eye in the front window. But although its strength admittedly lies in its in-depth holdings of, and access to, 'native' books and prints, it also represents a wider range of mainstream authors, of the type you're, admittedly, as likely to find at W.H. Smith. But, since the pricings are comparable, you're obviously going to get a much deeper sense of satisfaction from giving your money to a small independent business (running since 1981) with the proceeds going straight back into the local community, rather than to one of the more anonymous majors. Anyway . . . I picked up a fantastic little book about the towns and villages of Denbighshire while I was in there, so, if Welsh history or local studies are your preferred themes, then make this shop your first port of call. Friendly and genuinely helpful staff too! read more
