I love exploring local businesses when possible and Third House Books & Coffee is a true gem in my…read moreopinion. This small store sells fresh-brewed coffee, as well as publications from independent press companies. The selection is varied, and there's even a section of books specifically meant to read in house. The menu is small and straightforward, featuring less than ten items, all under $10. Seating is limited with about four tables, two couches and a coffee table. The store has a very cozy atmosphere and is a great place to sit and get work done if things aren't too busy. They do host events on some nights, such as readings, meetings and mic nights, all of which are posted on their Facebook page. Third House has an open hallway connecting it to Downtown Wine & Cheese next door. They are separately owned, but may have deals during events like Open Mic Night (50% off one glass of house wine). I enjoyed my time at Third House, and I hope to see the business thrive. They have my support for sure.

I did not join the line and was waiting with 10 others just wanting to go to the store. The guy that came said he had to let this line in first. that's crazy. horrible customer service. and then, they do support scalpers in a way even if it's 1 per person. Those tumblers only cost $30. sold out now and if you go online they are now seeking for $80 and up. So my son that wanted a tumbler to take to school to actually use. he cannot because they sold out within the first 20 people because they want to resell for more money. And they already have FAKE reviews online stating "they order it online". The site says pick up in stores only no ordering. couldn't even add it to cart... This is crazy having grown adults hoarding cups to resell for more and taking some of these items away from kids. wish someone would put a stop to this. Will not be going to target anymore.

When I entered I was overcome by a horribly strong odor of what seems to be a combination of bad incense & herb burning for many years. The store suffered from the 4Ds.....dark, dingy, dusty & dirty. In fact any merchandise that isn't sealed should be considered used as it is all tainted with a layer of residue from the burning of items. In so far as pressured sales, yes they do suffer from that also even to the extent of as you're heading toward the door. The couple of items I had a somewhat interest in the shopkeeper could not demonstrate or explain them correctly. Personally I couldn't get out of there quick enough to get fresh air in my body. To add to the dismal experience I had to maneuver myself around beer cans in the parking lot.

My boyfriend and I wanted to try a new coffee/matcha and first found Coterie's instagram page…read more Their instagram was super cute, had great marketing, and it appears they even host events (like group crafts!). We ordered the iced vanilla dirty chai with cinnamon and the lucky charms matcha (since it is March). For the iced vanilla dirty chai with cinnamon: the chai was both sweet and creamy, with strong hints of cinnamon (especially with the cinnamon powder on top). This is a drink we would order again if we went back The lucky charm matcha was slightly disappointing. The menu said it was made with cereal milk, though the taste didn't come through and just tasted like regular whole milk. The matcha was bland/dull and lacked depth of taste. On top, there were only 3 lucky charms, which was the part we were most excited for yet unfortunately let down by. For the quality of drink, the prices were high and not worth the value. The matcha was $8.25, which was most disappointing, and the chai was ~$6. The service was great and the barista was super nice. While your drinks are being made, there's tons of stickers, trinkets, and merch to look at. If you'd like to stay inside, there's an "upstairs" (couple stairs up) seating area where I assume most of the crafting events occur. Being off of University, parking is limited.

Music lovers, rejoice!…read more If you're looking for a place where great music is key, look no further! When I first started my record collection, I asked my music-loving co-worker where to go and he immediately recommended Hear Again! Located in downtown Gainesville only a few cobblestoned steps from the legendary Hippodrome Theater, Hear Again has a fantastic location in the heart of the city. You'll usually know when the shop is open based on the standing sign that is propped up during business hours! Upon entrance into the store, you're surrounded by some of the greatest tunes to ever be pressed on their various mediums with more genres that you could even count. Hear Again is so wonderfully organized and arranged, there never seems to be a a CD or vinyl out of alphabetical or genre order - talk about arrangement! The wonderful store owner also keeps a running list online of available vinyls, also available on their Instagram page which is updated weekly with new arrivals or sales. My favorite portion of the store? The used records! I've scored vinyls in prime condition for $5 or even less! One of my favorite details about Hear Again? Their COVID practices! Upon entry, you get your temp checked, hands sprayed with alcohol/sanitizer and you are then provided with gloves. I love it!! So if you're planning to show some love to your music collection soon, Hear Again has all the greats your record player could want!

My first visit to Jolly's and it will not be the last!…read more It's easy to get "lost" in all the booths to visit and it's well worth the time! I wish I took more pictures to post but I was so captivated by the entire experience that I truly forgot! But I'll be back!

Made my first visit to Jolly's last month when I was vacationing in the area. Not being from the…read morearea, I did not know what to expect when visiting here. I was impressed and very much enjoyed getting to shop around! Jolly's Antiques & Shabby Chics is a curated antique shop located in Chiefland on the main drag of town. The shop is rather large, and they have many booths that are filled by different antiquers. Everything can be browsed through and purchased in this one location. So, there is a healthy variety of selection and types of items throughout the shop. I did not exactly count the number of booths, but there are probably at least 50 different ones throughout. There is a private parking lot for the store. We visited on a Tuesday afternoon in July, and it was not crowded. The selection will obviously vary and change due to the nature of the store. However, there were booths with antiques, handmade items, and other vendor-made items (candles, etc.). Along with typical smaller antiques, there was a healthy selection of furniture and large items to browse through as well. There was not much of any clothing, so if you are looking for that, this likely would not be the shop to visit. Since there are so many booths and things to see, you could spend a good amount of time here looking at everything. I was probably browsing for the better part of 45 minutes, and still probably could have hung around longer to look at more! I ended up going home with an old Alabama Christmas vinyl record, that I plan to display as part of my Christmas decor this upcoming season. There were several furniture pieces I would have loved to snag, but since I was visiting the area on vacation, I did not have the proper room in the car to get them back home with me. It will vary from seller to seller most likely, but I thought the prices for all items were fair. You feel as though you are getting the value for the prices paid, in my opinion. Also, the staff was kind and friendly during my visit. They made sure to package and wrap items with care that you purchased, as well as gave inputs and answered any questions asked. My visit to Jolly's gets five start from me. I come back to this area at least once a year, and I look forward to being able to visit again amid see all of the new items that have made their way to the shop. If you are local or find yourself near this shop, I would recommend giving it a visit!
