This morning I asked about a specific book and was told they receive thousands of books and had no way of knowing if they had that specific title. No offer to help look for that book either. Moving forward I think we'll be visiting other used bookstores in the area with staff that is more passionate about literature.

If you enjoy books, you can find nearly any genre here at the Book Exchange, with lots of books by the same authors like Stephen King, James Michener, J.D. Robb, Dan Brown, etc. I even found one of the two books that I have not read by Harold Robbins, I was thrilled. It's a large used book store but it is pretty unorganized with some of the aisles just lined with stacks of books but I felt right at home :-) But fear not, the very friendly lady that runs it knows where all of the books are, or it seemed ilkoke it, and she is happy to be your guide for your personal reading preferences, I like that! Hey, they have a pretty healthtly collection of vinyl records (LP's) and you can spend some time looking for that Rolling Stones or ELO record and take a walk down memory lane. They've got DVD movies & other miscellaneous stuff of interest as well Bottom line: There's old and new books alike for a great price and don't forget to take in your bag of read books and get a credit toward more. My family and I just love coming here. It just has everything. Books, magazines, art and craft diy, anime trinkets, educational toys, unique or interesting gifts, I could go on. The children, young readers, teen, and young adult sections are great. Lots of fun stuff to look at and buy.

A group of young workers guarded the doors at 7:40 PM, 20 minutes until close. No greeting,…read morenothing, just rudely let me know that the store closed in 15 minutes. I respect people getting off on time and already knew what i was grabbing, but received No assistance to help, they just kept talking about their evening plans and where they were getting alcohol. One girl was absolutely wonderful and came to ring me out and we chatted about books while the others guarded the doors. Her name was Riley and she was great the entire time. I was checking out at 7:50 and a family got to the doors but were told it was too late to come in and that they were closing. Really bad portrayal of the company besides the one rock star employee.

lots of books and mostly displayed so you can see all the titles. i came for the children's books…read morewhich were not able to all be displayed in a way that made it easier to see, considering the volume and how thinner books will not have titles on the spine so displaying like the others would not have the same effect anyway. it was overwhelming for me to throughly look through the all books which is a sensitivity of mine with too many options per se particularly in this case as the books sit on their backs so they fill the tall shelves which sit close together in a compact space. the vintage golden children books i was going through were mostly priced at $10 so i passed on them. not sure how other books are priced but i did overhear the cashier recommending another store to someone stating it may be cheaper. cashier let me know to ask if i needed helped and seemed friendly checking out those with purchases and directed where to find the free bookmarks.

Stopped in here after volunteering with our church and I'm so glad we did. The Haunted Book Shop is…read moresuch a fun little spot in downtown Mobile. I got to talking with one of the employees and learned that the bookstore that has been around in different forms since the 1920s!!! l. They carry a mix of new books, local authors, children's books and all kinds of quirky and fun gifts.. It's a great place to slow down, browse, and find something you didn't even know you wanted. I'll definitely stop by again the next time I'm in the area.
