I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Book Bug after a meal at Lambert's. It's quite…read moreconvenient to the restaurant (it sits to the left-hand side, as you're coming off of the interstate). The book selection is fairly mainstream, but if you're a fan of genre novels (Romance, Westerns, Sci-Fi, etc.), or a budget buyer, The Book Bug has you covered. On this particular trip, I was looking for multiple paperback copies of a 70s novel (harder to find). Not only did they have EXACTLY what I needed, but I managed to find another unexpected treasure. Finally tally was 8 books for just under $12. I highly recommend them, if you're a paperback junkie!

27 minutes ago…read more Horrible place I am sad that I can't leave a negative star review. I went to trade old books for some kids and baby books since we are expecting our first child. I was talked down to and treated horribly anytime i asked a question. I assume the worker was mad since I interuped her smoking outside and being on her phone. I asked about trading in the books for credit after looking around and finding very little in the children's section. She poi tedly told me to get out of the store. When .I asked why she was being so rude. She informed me she retains the right to refuse service to anyone. When I asked for my books back, since she had already put them behind the counter, she informed me "Nope, you donated them so get out". When I attempted to talk to her about her actions, getting my books back, and her previous mentions of trade in values. She told me the store does not do trade-ins or credit. I was then informed that she would call the cops if I did not leave she wouldwcall the cops. I did nothing wrong and this "lady" essentially kicked me out of the store, stole the books I brought in as trade, told me that the sign painted on the building is a lie, and treated me like absolute garbage.

LOVE that there is a Barnes & Noble in the town I moved to. I think Barnes & Noble stores are a…read morefantastic place to buy a tea or coffee and book or magazine, and forget about life. Time stops, and I can honestly say I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. I get excited about a magazine, a newspaper, a comic book, a romance, a crime thriller series, etc to where I want to learn and know more. With every book, magazine, or newspaper, I bought the right to mark up a book for my enlightenment and expand my knowledge. I am a life learner. And Barnes & Noble feeds that addiction. Why doesn't someone live in a Barnes & Noble, like the Capital One guy? I can't put a price on education. Getting a membership helps save money!

This was the first Barnes and Noble in the area growing up. It was an almost magical place. I had…read morebeen a frequent visitor to Walden Books in the malls when that was still a thing. Nothing compared to B&N though. The number of books they had as a kid was just mind numbing. I would spend hours looking at the comics and manga before buying some SF or fantasy book. These days I tend to just use libraries or local, non-chain bookstores. However there is still some nostalgia for this store. This location is a decent size, well maintained, and has a good selection. I've never had any issues with the staff. I haven't gotten anything from the cafe so I can't comment on it.

I asked why it was so much when I was told it was going to be significantly cheaper prior, I was asked if I was a preferred member, I asked how I would know and was told " you would know if you were". Apparently the $90 price was only if you prepaid for the items this was never said over the phone, I skipped cheaper product at other stores because of this. The deal was not offered and was pretty much told oh well should have prepaid. Thanks Castle, I want to like the place as it's the closest with a big selection but it's not worth giving my money to a place that won't honor a deal they had in place.

It has a model and mini painting room, and it's used for gaming Thursdays and Thursdays. Warhammer, etc. is there on Thursdays. Regular board gaming is there on both nights, but the bulk of the room is reserved for tabletop RPG. There's an additional gaming room in the front. The people that come there to play are are great, the shop is extremely well-run, the staff is great. They do special orders and card trading. They carry some gently used items. And there's a purchase stamp program. Anyways, my brother used to take me, his baby sis, with him to the comic book shop every Tuesday when I was little, and read them to me, so I like checking out any shop I run into in my travels and moves to other states for a touch of home. Castle Perilous is among the most welcoming, and is among the best stocked in each category while still having a lot of variety. Smart use of the square footage. It's impressive.
