As other Yelpers have stated, this store is packed with "inventory of every genre and subject", but just nothing for me. On a side note, I'm almost happy I didn't buy anything here today. The clerk was sitting at a desk right near the front entrance, no acknowledgement of me entering or leaving the place. Would it hurt you to say, "Hello" ? Sorry, lack of customers skills irks me a bit. Anyway, got back in the vehicle and headed to the next Used bookstore !

I f'ing love Broadside. So many books and cards and stationary sets and shirts and bags and stuff…read more So much. And it's all so delightful. The employees are kind and happy to help you find things you love. Amid the pandemic, they had a sign showing Jane Austen with a mask. It was PRECIOUS. The prices are generally the stock price of the book (no Barnes & Noble discounts here), but we all love supporting small businesses, especially local book stores. You can order through their Bookshop.org page or directly from their website and pick up in store (save the shipping costs). Overall, big big fan of Broadside. Go show them some love...

As a West Coaster I have many bookstores to patronize and usually order from Amazon as I read as…read moremuch as I can. However after finding this little gem of a bookstore I can now say I order from Broadside! The shipping is more than reasonable and the selection is as all encompassing as I see online. The staff is tenured and reliable, one of the staff "Brenna" keeps a running log of what I read and like and when they have three or four they go ahead and charge my card and ship them out. It is so delightful to find a package of books waiting for me when I get home, I just dive right in. Thanks Broadside, Brenna and the rest of the fabulous crew for making reading even more fun.

What a lovely bookstore! I came here with a friend and their daughter who were ready to get some…read morebooks. I'm not one to buy books often, so I perused their other offerings and got a few mood rings as well as some buttons and a sticker. Lots of cute gifts and a nice variety of books for all ages. I even picked up a free bookmark at checkout and enjoyed talking to Lexi, the owner, who is super welcoming and passionate about providing books, art and positivity in her community. She offers take-home art projects for kids which is pretty cool.

Can I just tell you how SUPER PSYCHED I am that a) this…read morebookstore is actually still open (when you drive by, it often looks like it's closed) b) it's just down the street from my house c) they have an absolute TON of books Upon first glance, Redbrick (one word) looks like a relic of times past. The red brick industrial building has it's own parking lot, which is a bit of a kamikaze move to get into. Once inside, you're surrounded on all fronts by books upon books upon books. A treasure trove of literature! The books are grouped into general sections: children's, self-help, religion, cookbooks, fiction, classics, romance, etc. The distinctions between these groups aren't as clear as they could be, so this bookstore is more for the patient, the ones who get great joy out of finding a really cool classic or a collection of stories from their childhood. It will take awhile to peruse the whole store, but I guarantee you'll find some winners in there. Most of the books (paperback, hardback) and magazines are from decades past. I saw few "newer" books on the shelves interspersed. Some of the books, particularly the children's books and those by the windows, have had their covers sun-bleached. I, for one, love the classics and enjoy collecting antique books and quite enjoyed myself here. Many of their older books (away from the windows) have aged very well. I purchased two of Hemingway's novels, another smaller antique book, and a fictional hardback from the 70s, with a very "period" cover. We spent the better part of an hour in there, enjoying the opportunity to browse! Check out is toward the front, where a husband and wife team sit and chat, read, or browse the web. Being in business for 34 years (!), you know they really have a true love for literature and I really hope they have no intention of closing down. Their prices are pretty affordable: the four books (2 classics, 1 antique, and 1 retro) came to about $14. And, as a note, they do accept debit cards for purchases over $10. A sign spattered about the store claims that most books are 50% off, unless written otherwise inside the cover. If you're a bibliophile, an avid reader, a book collector, an imaginative mind, you'll absolutely love stepping back in time at Redbrick. I highly recommend this as a "cool" place to spend a little time and a little cash.

Didn't see anything else interesting, but as another Yelper stated, the Romance section was pretty extensive. On a side note, they had the music cranked up REALLY loud. Since the Curious Cat is one shop from the corner, the parking is close. The store has a great use of space. There are books aplenty, with something for everyone. There's adult, teen, and child with different sections like local available. But there are also a lot of cute gift items, like a table of high end stickers, book tote bags, and locally made candles with scents like "indie books". Definitely watch their Facebook and Instagram - the store has three book clubs they're starting which are fun with great options! They're also later in the day so even working people can go!

As soon as I walked in, the woman behind the counter directed to me to "the mask basket". Can't recall the last time I was asked to put on a mask, but I complied. Normally I would've walked out, but I figured I was only going to be in there for a few minutes and I had traveled a distance to get to this location, so the least I could do was satisfy her paranoia. Or perhaps authoritarian viewpoint ? Not sure which it was, but I was the only person in the shop at the time. After I was shown the SF/Fantasy section, I found a paperback right away from one of my favorite authors. 2 bucks, made putting up with the mask nonsense worth it. Jumped back in the vehicle and headed to the next Used bookstore !

The Odyssey Book Shop is the best independent bookseller in The Pioneer Valley. Period…read more The staff members have clearly earned their stripes - they are ALL incredibly knowledgeable, helpful AND friendly. That's the Customer Service Trifecta right there! They know not only their regular customers, but they also understand their community, and their products. Their First Editions Club is incredible. You can tell how much time and effort and CARE goes in to the book choice. Not only do you get a book mailed to you every month, but it's also signed by the author. Not only is it signed, but it's also covered in Mylar dust jackets, protecting the book for years to come. I can understand signing up to get a signed book by an author, but the Odyssey makes it so much more. They're not just sending a random book to you, they are carefully selecting books that they believe recognition, and many times, those selected titles go on and win awards! Now you have a signed first edition copy of a book by a hot new author -- and maybe you met the author at the store during their talk! The Odyssey's attention to detail just blows me away. You don't get that at other stores. I could LIVE at The Odyssey with all of the events they have... There is always, ALWAYS something going on for all age groups, whether it's monthly Young Adult Author panels, book clubs for different genres, or crafts for the kids, you will never be bored. Creativity abounds at The Odyssey. They also have events off-site, at local libraries, schools and colleges. I have never seen another book store reach out to the community like The Odyssey. I get such a kick coming here with my middle son to get his textbooks for his college courses - just as I did when his brother went to uni out here and just as I did when I was at school here. They have old classics in fantastic condition, and the newest selections with everything in between. Boswell is the cutest cat who I had the pleasure of being followed by during my 30 minute visit. I was browsing when this beautiful black-and-white cat came strolling up to me from laying in the window. They also have Boswell souvenirs, such as gift cards and mugs. We played while I browsed, and she was so friendly at 12 years old! She was incredibly sweet and made this experience 11/10. They have an amazing selection of vintage books in amazing quality, which was my second favorite part of this store. Maria + Joe were fantastic guides, and there was no pressure to buy at all, although I couldn't resist supporting this awesome store. I will 100% return when I visit again.
