Matt was our DJ when the day finally came. He was fantastic! He did the ceremony music, the cocktail hour music, the reception music, and a bunch of MC work, all with good humor and a smile. My son and his fiancée chose, well, an interesting playlist for both cocktails and reception. Matt stuck 100% to the cocktail playlist near as I could tell. For the reception, after the First and Father-Daughter dances, I believe Matt tried to mostly stick to the playlist (and I commend you, sir, for attempting to stick with that impossible list!). Thankfully, though, the man can read a room and switched some stuff up here and there to try and reinvigorate the party. For instance - I'm 95% positive the kids didn't have YMCA on the playlist, but you know what? Matt played that wedding staple anyway and it's the *only* song where I saw just about everyone all around the room - bride and groom included! - participating, laughing, and having goofy fun. Why hire a DJ if you don't want someone to mix things up and get your people going, even if they play something that may not be everyone's favorite song but is almost guaranteed to make folks at least smile? The one song request that I know for sure was made was happily received by Matt and played immediately after whatever song was already going. In truth, the bride, groom, and guests were largely non-drinkers and non-dancers and were far more interested in sitting outside smokin' n jokin' or inside chatting endlessly, so it was a tough crowd for any DJ to get motivated to move. Matt's musical arranging made the atmosphere happy and fun regardless, and there were at least a couple times I yelled out "Yeah DJ!" to him in approval. I would certainly not hesitate to hire All-Star and Matt again.

Sounded legitimate and it didn't cost very much compared to other companies. We had worked the main honcho named "Josh" before the big day. We were pretty simple, my fiancé had made the entire playlist.. We were just, basically asking them to play the music and have lights. We called our DJ Mike Coyal 2 days prior, to go over the plan and he was cool with our playlist and everything sounded great. He was horrible... that night was awful.. He Said he's been a dj for 15 years. It's hard to believe because even our guests were asking if this was his first gig. He didn't stick to our playlist we made and did what he wanted. Long story short, no one really danced because he was an awful Dj and we contacted Josh shortly after to tell him how bad it was. He didn't care and was almost pointing his finger at everyone else but his own employee. "The customer is always right"... This company surely doesn't care. Spend the extra $150 to get a company that actually knows what they're doing! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!

We told them we had uptight family on both sides and didn't want anything crass or edgy. nothing sexual or explicit. They said they completely understood. they were super supportive all the way up to the wedding. On the day of the wedding the DJ showed up but it wasn't who we were told would be there. we got some friend or employee who didn't seem to know what she was doing. she expressed that she was newer which was mildly alarming because we paid in full for someone who WASNT newer. She was completely unaware of the plan for the wedding layout and didn't know where to set up. we had to walk her through everything that was already planned and written in the wedding plans. As the wedding was going we noticed that we were past due for our next activity and the DJ completely missed the que. we had to tell her that we needed to move on and she did at that point. we mentioned that we need her to keep the party moving along and that she can use the timed planner to know when to do everything (which she already should have known). she didn't announce any future activity without being reminded. we did the cake cutting, bouquet toss, couples games, father/daughter, and mother/son dances all having to remind her to move the event along. by the end we just asked her to do the music and we'll have a groomsman come up and do announcements with the mic. That was the best solution to that problem. When the dance started we were surprised to hear one of the most awkward playlists ever at a wedding. we had specifically asked for no more than 2 line dances, no hard language, and basically a fun, upbeat 60s-80s love songs and songs that could be danced to. What played was 2000s funk pop with swearing, rap, and lewd lyrics. None of these songs were well known. they were obscure and strange. sounded like they were all by Diggable Planets but with a dirty mouth. And when we asked her to get back on the playlist they said they had prepared, she played no less than 6 line dances in a row. needless to say, both sides of the family were awkward and many guests left once the music started. we had to keep asking her to play the requested genres. The songs would veer back off track after every 3rd song or so. every time we looked to see what was happening, the DJ seemed lost in her own world jamming to these songs like she was in her own bedroom rather than DJing at our wedding. We were just exasperated with this performance. By the end of the night I had multiple people come up to me and comment how strange the music was at the wedding and ask me if i meant something by it. My wife and I summed up the night and tabulated all the happening at the wedding to see how things went. We found that it would have been more affordable to buy professional speakers like the ones they brought and to play our own songs off our own phone. The DJ didn't MC like we agreed. Didn't play the right songs we agreed to. Didn't pay attention to the playlists. Acoustics are ok, not amazing, but work with a DJ and loud music. If you're looking for a large event space, this one seems to be gaining popularity.
